    cut the top off of a bell pepper, stuff it with loose greens ie spinach or kale or parsley and put it through the juicer..that way you get far more yield from the greens by sneaking them in a bell pepper..has worked great for me

    I have had a Champion Juicer of 30+ years now. It still works perfectly. No need to dice celery. It also homogizes and makes nice cream and nut butters. No need for these fancy new juicers!

    Yay! I love collard greens! Now I know how to juice them! Unfortunately, I don't have a juicer, yet. Can you make a smoothie recipe? I don't have a lot of money, so, I may get a Brevelle Juicer.

    I just ordered this juicer yesterday, one reason for doing so was so that I could cut down my prep time because of the wide mouth on it. But it seems futile since, because of the auger-style I'm having to spend that time anyway cutting up celery (which I use every day) and all of my leafy greens. Groan...

    Can you juice onions and garlic and tomatoes to make soup out of?
    What about boiling that pulp to make veggie broth?

    Thnx john, I'll probably be looking to get the tribest slowstar then instead of the 99dollar one. Its cheaper than the kuvings and even tho the kuvings has the 3in. Opening u still have to cut stringy veg.where the tribest is a smaller opening but u can put the stringy veg. in whole but u still have to cut the other bigger veg. Just not as small. Wow if they had the duel blade like the tribest it would be so awesome.

    Big fat greeny! lol. Hey, thanks, Ive been using my juicer incorrectly. Mines an Omeg Vert. I was always clogging the ejection port. I enjoy cutting my greens, but if u were in a hurry, you could probably twist a greeny and put it into a Cuisinart w the slicing blade attachment. U could use it for celery for sure. I guess itd be another mess though. cuttng>juicing>cleaning is my am zen time though.

    sure makes things easier when you don't wash your produce.... I find if I don't pull apart every stalk of celery - there is always some dirt on the end...same with washing the collards and kale - even if they came out of my garden - I still wash them. Would love to make a salad by just pulling out a handful of greens from a container and off I go....

    Hey John thanks for this video, I just want to say that this Juicer does not make much pulp. I have a Samson single auger, a newer one, and that produces A LOT of pulp, so I am impressed with this juicer and hopefully in not too long of a time be able to get one! Thanks I am impressed with it.
    How is the quality of the Juice compared to other juicers? I notice the Centrifugal juicers actually make a rather watered down tasting juice...thanks again. Greatly appreciated.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  10 років тому

      All slow juicers generally make more pulp. Some juicers more than others, and the amount of pulp created is also dependent on what is being juiced. The quality of the juice made with most single auger juicers are comparable with other single auger juicers in my opinion.

    John, would you please compare the Kuvings Whole Slow Juicer, the Omega Vert 400 and the Slowstar to help me make my decision. I can only afford to buy one as my 65th birthday present to myself. Thanks Man.....

    Another great video, looking forward to buying the Kuvings Whole Juicer, right after its available in my country!
    I just want to ask you, is it possible/beneficial to juice sprouts? Like alfa alfa sprouts just when they get green?

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  10 років тому

      Yes, you can juice sprouts. That being said, they dont make a lot of juice, and its best to use a HORIZONTAL auger style juicer omega nc800 or solostar3 juicer as they are MOST efficient at juicing sprouts, microgreens and leafy greens. I would also recommend blending small sprouts over juicing them.

    Thnx John, I'm gonna be getting a juicer in april, most likely from you.I'm getting that 99 dollar juice, centrifugal expelling juicer.cant remember the name.you actually used it I'm a vid.the one about what produce to use I believe was the one.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  10 років тому +1

      The $99 juicer I recommend is the Lequip Mini, that being said, its a centrifugal ejection style machine, which is my least favorite style juicer. I do recommend overall getting a slow juicer, as that is what I use in my day-to-day life.

    hi john just watched Breville Juice Fountain Elite vs Omega VRT350HD Juicer Review but still can't make my mind up. the kids want one for mostly fruits and hard veg but i want one do make juice from green leafy veg! perhaps i will have to just have my leafy veg as a smoothie from my other machine? unless you have any suggestions. can't afford 2 machines. I'm looking for health and weight loss via juices so therefore presumed juicing veg to be a lot less calorific than fruits?thanks carrie

    Hi could you please tell me if the Kuvings Whole Slow Juicer or Tribest Slowstar Juicer produces less pulp?
    Am I correct to say that in one of your other videos you said that the Tribest Juicer juices green slightly better in comparison to the the Kuvings.. or am I wrong to say this? Thanks for your help

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  10 років тому

      Depending on the item being juiced, will determine how much pulp is being created. I have not done side-by-side testing of these two machines yet, but just from my observation, the Kuvings appears to make more pulp. In general, the Slowstar seems to be more efficient at juicing vegetables than the kuvings from my current observations.

    Hey you mentioned you wished the Kurvings had a funnel, you could try maybe using a canning funnel, they have a wide opening for filling mason jars--hope it helps :)

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  10 років тому +1

      I did think about that but the canning funnel would reduce the overall size of the feed chute (thus causing more need to cut produce). It would be far easier for the manufacturer to INCLUDE such an item in my opinion.

    PLEASE HELP JOHN...I have been reading that "green juice" can be harmful if one drinks it everyday or even a few times a week! Greens and other cruciferous veggies contain Goitrogens. These are substances that suppress the function of the thyroid gland by interfering with iodine uptake, which can, as a result, cause an enlargement of the thyroid and thyroid problems in the long run. Also been reading about how harmful Oxalates are...contained in these foods also. Is this all just hype or is it true?? please please help because I LOVE ALL OF THESE FOODS!
