I had a 1979 lux SR5 with the 20r. It ran like a sewing machine and sounded like a tractor with it's exhaust running out in front of the left rear tire.
I hear you. You could pull the valve cover and inspect the plastic guides to see if they are broken or loose, this is a really weak point on the 22R@@azorianification
@aerialrescuesolutions3277 I did that in the first or second video. When I got the 22r is sounded like they were broken. Sure enough they were in pieces when I pulled the front cover off. Definitely something to check if you have a 22r or the chain will wear though the block. Do you have a 22r?
I do. I pulled the engine and did all the work on an engine stand. Windage tray, dual row, Offenhauser intake, Weber. No headers yet, I'm not sure if 500.00$ is worth a few HP@@azorianification
Bravo video Sir. Is there any of your vehicle that needs an LED upgrade? We'd love to invite you to do a review of our product. I hope I can reach out to you with your approval.

They are amazing engines. 🍻
bravo, awesome
Thank you 🍻
Did you put the dual-row timing chain on the 22R? I saw your LCE plates. JIm
I wasn’t planning on keeping the 22r for long so I kept it as a single row. LCE has a lot of great stuff for these engines

@aerialrescuesolutions3277 which header are you looking at? The pacesetter wasn’t too much?
Will you be moving the 22R over to the 1988 Toyota 4x4?
No, the 88 has a 22re which I use for a while. Debating on upgrading to a 3.4L or maybe. 3z
Is it smog exempt
I don’t have smog in my county

Only the 88 still has sealed beam headlights
