In this video we disassemble the central locking mechanism of a Bugaboo Donkey in order to discuss the problem of clicking sounds emanating from the lower end of the handle on a Bugaboo Donkey. This sound should not be ignored as it generally indicates a need to tighten the central mechanism in order to avoid costly damage to the chassis (if such damage has not already occurred). We have a look at the various components that might be affected, how to identify damage, and how to fix the problem.

The right handlebar doesnt lock in its highest position. So it makes the handle tilt down on the right side. I took it apart and every part seems fine. I tightened the screw as hard as i could but the gap is still there… its only making the clicking noise on right side. Any suggestions?

My bugaboo donkey too has the issue where the back wheels part realises without pressing the two buttons on the handles, took it apart and all pieces are like new.
It’s on both side which makes me think it’s a factory fault as the pram is in like new condition

    Hi,
These videos help alot! This is only place i found some answer!
Do you know how to fix mamas and papas ocarro pushchair, the chassis creaks alot when you are turning the pushchair more side to side rather than just pushing back and forth?
    Thanks.

I don't have experience with exactly that model, but creaking issues are the result of loose connection points and a lack of lubrication. Get a can of WD40 (or silicon spray if the joints are mainly plastic) and spray all the points where different elements of the stroller connect. If this doesn't work, try to find where it is creaking and disassemble, lubricate and reassemble that point tighter than it was (either by tightening screws or drilling out rivets and re-riveting them). Hope this helps :)

Hi! Can you tell what could be the problem when my buffalo central locking mechanism doesnt work? It’s not the common problem with the two spring, cause these are perfectly fine on both sides..i have taken it to parts and put it back together severeal times but dont understand...

In what way is it not working, does it not stay upright, or not fold down, or is it just loose? :)

Hi I'm struggling to remove the mechanism from buffalo seat on a donkey duo 2. I've removed the central screw from the back but can't rotate the mechanism to allow me to remove it?? If you can help that would be great

Sometimes when it get's misaligned, you need to depress the seat position lever to rotate the feet to take it apart. :)

Our donkey chassis was loose and tightening the screw helped for a little while until it became loose again. I ended up opening the screw like shown on here and found that a small plastic piece with a spring attached to it had cracked. I closed the frame without this piece and now the chassis is unusable as the side is very loose. Is there any way to get a replacement of this small plastic piece and spring?

Bugaboo only sells whole chassis' unfortunately, but this part is in both the Donkey and Buffalo (and isn't usually a part that breaks) so you could look for otherwise defective chassis on the used market. Alternatively, you could take the unbroken component out of the other side and visit a 3d-print shop, or check on Shapeways.com, there are a few people who upload 3d models for Bugaboo components there. Hope this helps! :)

@@BarnevognverkstedNo thanks for answering. Do you know what role that little spring plays in the chassis? Do you think it is the likely cause for the loose chassis or is it likely that there are other issues with it also? Maybe I put the pieces back together wrong and that's why it is even more wobbly and unusable now..
