To Thomas and the team, it's been a journey with Yes theory for 6years now, I always dreamed of this day when you'll visit one part of my country and show it to the world. The Baka or Pygmies mean a lot to Cameroon. Though I'm from the part of Cameroon colonized by England, i still feel very proud and honored by you visiting my country and telling our story to the world. I love how they reinvent their channel without fear of stepping out of the content creating comfort zone. They are constantly exploring new shapes and ways of telling stories.
What a crazy ending. It's a shame you didn't get to stay longer and experience more of their culture. They seemed like such genuine people who deserve a lot better. I hope they get all of their wishes for a better future.

As a Cameroonian, I really appreciate when people travel to Cameroon and tell the stories without any biases/presumptions. I am happy for you, that you got to experience this part of Cameroon, as many of us never get this far outside of our comfort zones. But I also really empathise with what you had to go through at the end of this experience and I hope it does not discourage any other plans you guys had for travelling around this beautiful continent. A well is a very common source of drinking water. At my parent's house, we actually dug one and sent out to the community where people could get free drinking water. So I will be happy to contribute to a cause that can provide one for this community. The Yes Theory team continues to inspire me to think different and be more open and this video did just that. As I travel and make videos my self, I try to keep this in mind. Thank you for what you do - and please keep doing what you do. It reaches more people than you can imagine 😇
Central Africa as I a region seems extremely interesting and is on my list now, especially Cameroon and Central African Republic. Unfortunately these two countries have been going trough some hardships, but it’s still worthy a visit. Greetings from Vienna

That was heartbreaking for me watch honestly. I almost cried. I don’t know why that clip with the boy asking about airplanes was so heavy for me emotionally. I hope he gets to experience it one day and see the world with his curiosity.❤️
The fact that they built you a house with the little that they have shows how kind the world can be. I think it's important to always appreciate a gift no matter how small because it's important to realize the effort it took for some gifts to be made
No video has ever affected me like this. So much of humanity is washed away in modern society and seeing them have to communicate that they are struggling just pierced me right in the heart.
Dear Yes Theory team, im a Moroccan fan who lives in belgium, my family is from the rif mountains. we are called amazigh or berbers, nobody really knows alot about them except for the people who live in morocco or have moroccan roots. i would really appreciate it if you guys could make a video about it and visit the people who live in the atlas mountains in Morocco. the cuisine is delicious and the people are super welcoming. greetings
I too would enjoy the Yes Theory visiting with and understanding the culture/traditions of the Berbers. Three of my friends visited ten years ago and the stories of these people were so fascinating. 🤗🇨🇦
This is the second video I've watched by Yes Theory and at certain points in both I found myself nearly tearing up. Perhaps the beauty and fragility of this planet, the transitoriness of existence has something to do with it. More specifically, the daily emergency that is life for indigenous people throughout the world feels like an easily avoidable tragedy unfolding. Thank you for creating these videos.
As someone who deals with anxiety and panic attacks on a daily basis, just doing the simple tasks of life seems like a struggle sometimes. Watching Yes Theory videos and seeing the group face their fears and challenges, while seeming impossible for someone like me, gives me hope and a little courage to tackle my own challenges. Keep up the work guys!
They are literally so, nice to you. I'm honestly in awe of how kind they've been to you. They made you a hut, a bed, food, they made sure you were ok after sleeping. It's just beautiful
It boggles my mind there are millions of peoples like this all over the globe, that live like this each and every day. We are so disconnected from that reality. These videos are a great reminder.
How can we help? It’s amazing to see the Yes team bringing awareness to the world. It would be great to see you partner with one or two NGOs or Aid groups to enable people watching to contribute to help the Baka people and preserve their culture, language and way of life. Post some links please!
There are many christian organizations that step in to help with clean water, teach skills and build schools. Yes, some organizations have a lot of overhead but 1 organization that has the less amount of overhead is World Vision. Even if you are not a Christian, I would highly recommend this organization. I have a young girl I sponsor, she now has clean water with a pump well, food, skills and a school, where she attends. I have helped her and her community, Zambia, Africa since she was 8 years old, she is now 18 and thriving! ☺️ I am so blessed to be able to help them. I absolutely love her and would like to meet her one day. ❤ Best wishes to you!
The excitement the kids showed for the drone lifting off….That did it for me man….it was such a pure moment…the hospitality that the tribe as a whole showed was beautiful to witness….immense generosity from people that face such immense challenges….
Dear Yes Theory Team. Thank you so much for the adventures and inspiration. I am person with disability living in Ethiopia 🇪🇹🇪🇹. I have been travelling to the mountain peaks and into the oceans with you for long. Watching your videos, I FEEL LIKE I AM ACTUALLY BESIDE YOU PHYSICALLY EXPERIENCING THE ADVENTURER. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE GIVEN TO US!!! LOVE YOU
The night talk makes me cry... For so long we have forgotten that, regardless of race, language, culture, we are all brothers and sisters. Nature separated us thousands years ago, that's why we now look, sound, think different, but whoa.. what stays the same, is the subtle affection for each other, the curiosity, the kids laughing, the music, the need for community.. these are in the core of our human soul.. Thank you for making this video, it is truly beautiful.
I stayed for 5 days at a small village in Ghana, very different look and way of life, but I can definitely relate to the warm welcome. That experience really opened my eyes to how differently people live around the world. Even though I did not speak their language we found ways to communicate and I would not trade that experience for the world.
It is very funny to see Thomas and the local tribe lost in translation. You guys are unpretentious, funny and seriously compassionate at the same time. Keep going! Love what you doing ❤
I just would not be able to leave bro, we often complain because our life is not good enough while people are struggling to get water, thank you all so much for sharing the struggles of the world and thank you for showing us what life for some are
I have yet to see an episode where I am not touched, moved and feeling grateful you all work so diligently to bring knowledge and recognition. All of this while remaining humble. Thank you for all you do and all the lives you've touched.
I appreciate how we got to witness Thomas’ raw emotions. He seemed so overwhelmed with new information that he seemed very subdued as if processing/absorbing everything. Right in front on our eyes. Very interesting
As a person who suffers extreme anxiety your videos are a blessing to me! They allow me to adventure the world without physically doing it myself which is virtually impossible. Thank you! I live thru your videos! I’m not ready to sign up for my own experience with you guys but what you’re doing IS changing ppls lives. Thank you 🙏🏼

Thomas and the whole team what u guys do is really Inspiring , and being able to watch content like this really touches hearts. Is there a way maybe to help the village by constructing a well for a clean water for everyone? Im pretty sure it'll be a huge help for the entire community. I pray this is possible for Yes Theory to do. 🙏
Now i have so much respect for you fir visiting Africa and telling the world how beautiful African people are and hospitable as well As a kid I lived in the edge of am african forest and I remember my dad would always leave excess food just incase for strangers that travel at night so they always get something to eat..people would shout in the middle of the night once they are out of the forest so villagers nearby would come meet them and take them home..we didn't know them..but we helped them and treated them so well ...😊
This is one of my favourite videos Yes Theory has ever put out. I could really see Thomas seeking discomfort and the conversation he had at night was gift of connection we all are seeking. Such a beautiful group of people with such kindness. Sorry it ended on a negative note, I hope Thomas is okay and he returns to finish his vision of his Africa Saga series.
Such a nice way to live, to be so close with everyone around you, and not work a corporate job with all the day to day rush and hurry we seem to have in our lives, but instead to spend time with each other and dance and just take care of your community. It’s so underrated and beautiful truly. This was great!!
For years i've always been concerned about the decline of these native cultures due to influence from the wider world, but after seeing your conversation at night with that young man I can't help but wonder if it's a good thing at all to stifle the curiosity of such young people. It's an interesting thing to consider, and has definitely helped reshape the way I considered remote cultures around the world. I still don't know what to think about this, but thanks for the perspective Thomas.
I'm taking a class on educational communication and in it we had to study the ethics of having people 'leave their tribe'. It focused on how any education can radically shift someone's perspective irreversibly from that which they were raised, even say a liberal arts education. I argued that it is unethical to withhold education but we can't control how someone may interpret things and what they choose to do with their new outlook. I feel that education tears down prejudices and stereotypes so that we can be more empathetic to those outside of our tribe because we are given the gift of critical thinking.
I'm glad you and your crew were able to leave safely, that was so close. Thanks for introducing us to another great adventure...it was very touching!!!!
This was such a touching video you did Thomas. Leaving yourself so vulnerable is extremely admirable. The interactions you were able to have were amazing, genuine and eye opening, and made me emotional (“we won’t forget about you”). It’s awful it ended in such a manner…while experiencing another culture and way of life, and upon returning “back” meant fearing for safety. I’m excited to learn more from this African series, it’s been great so far! thank you for showing us a small bit of the Baka people and sharing their story.
This is the most unsure I have ever seen Thomas. He is amazing and sweet, and I also think its good -and real - to se that not every meeting is as easy going! The villagers where so sweet❤️
Sorry to see what happened at the end. I’ve been faced with the same situation, when you only have good in your heart and people mistake it that you’re somehow doing something malicious. Bravo Tom
Its not that they think you're malicious. They have the means to find out who you guys are, and when they do find out that you are a popular UA-camr/Journalist/Travel Vlogger/Influencer etc (no matter how good your intention) they can simply accuse you of being a spy (or anything that threatens their state or nation) which allows them to arrest you under suspicion, especailly if you are not affiliated with the UN or MSF etc. This is so they can then extort you for money without getting backlash from global humanitarian organisations who would then be able to sanction the country from any international trade or assistance due to their illigal actions against foreigners. As a South African i know this happens all over Africa and its so sad.
This was such a heart warming video to watch ❤️that one man he was talking to most of the time seemed genuinely happy to show him their way of life, so much kindness in his eyes! loved this video
Gotta say, my favorite thing about every country he visits is how respectable he is. Always willing to try things new and get out of his comfort zone. dude lives "seek discomfort". I'll be traveling the world soon with a new job I just obtained. I hope I can have the same spirit
This reminds me so much of the time I spent 3 days with the Asmat people of New Guinea. They live practically a world away from the Baka, but go through the exact same struggles. Our group even did a hunting/gathering trip into the jungle with them like you and were covered in ants and spiders like you were. So many memories. We also brought gifts of food, medicine and things like soccer balls. We didn't speak the same language though. We had a translator with us that spoke Indonesian and English. A few of their town elders spoke Indonesian. Their food, which was pulp from the Sago trees, was very difficult to get down.
This video made me think about life and to not take any little thing I have in life for granted. When you were having a conversation about airplanes with the little kid at night made me tear up. They deserve to see the world and experience new things too.
The conversation about the airplane for some reason has me almost in tears. The genuine curiosity, the sweetness of the kindness between Thomas and the Tribe member, the fact he waited there until everyone else was gone to ask questions about the world… that moment I’m sure was on Gods highlight reel of humanity. I was having a bad day until I saw that moment.
Every time I watch they’re videos like this it makes me feel so warm in the heart these people have so little yet are so happy No TV, no distractions just each others company and so greatful for what they have still
this video made me smile the whole time.. Those people in the village or so kind and humble it’s amazing… compared to big cities in america and all the gang violence and drugs, it’s so peaceful in that village i love it🙏🏼
seeing the conversation with that man outside his hut is amazing. Not knowing the sun is in every country or how planes carry people. His innocence and curiosity. Just wow.
Will there be more about what happened? That’s scary how they thought you were there for bad reasons. Good for you thomas for shedding light on these people and their struggles ❤ glad you’re safe!
Unfortunately my country is very weird they’ll always find reasons to bring up an issue and the try to fine you for it. That’s just how Cameroon is . Even we the citizens go through this a lot. Reason why I moved away from that country 😢
Beautiful people.. happy, kind and welcoming. Unlike the rest of the modern world. I love their happy smiles. May these people who do no harm to the world be blessed with all they deserve. ❤
This level of authenticity is my muse to bring a new perspective into light to those of us who are privileged and still take things for granted. Thank you Thomas for going through such discomfort and the team for portraying the whole journey so vulnerably. ❤
I stumbled upon your channel last week and was so elated it was the first video on your travel to Africa series. I was saying to myself should I recommend Cameroon as your next destination to Africa, not knowing your next video would be about the incredible Baka people of the East region of Cameroon. As a Cameroonian, I must must thank you for showing Cameroon to the people who might not have heard much or even know about us.
When the man bringing him to the village said that Thomas was there to see them and tell them that he knows they are there - it was such a simple but powerful statement.
Those people were so incredibly lovely to you! The traditional sunset dancing/singing was a treat to view. What a great experience. I hope you’ve recovered from the stress at the end
the end of the video must have been so stressful and its a shame that you couldnt delve deeper into the stories of the baka people, but thank you thomas for going out of your way for this! it was truly humbling and heartwarming to see the way the people accommodated a visitor in their village, even building a brand new hut for you. glad to also know youre safe!
What a beautiful welcoming community, so humbling, they have nothing yet they built you a house! I truly hope their loving kind spirit continues to thrive free from interference from Greedy Corporations! So refreshing 💞🤗💞
I wish there is a way you could get back to help them, to fix the water at least as I can see their water is not clean ( a purified or water station maybe). Thank you for the video, its just heartwarming to see pure hearted smiles from their tribe.
When the kids seen the drone that "Woaaaah" was priceless.... and talking about the airplane was the best part......it sucks it had to End so fast the people there seemed so nice!
Is it possible to support these people? I am soooo touched by their story, the food, drink, water, school, hospital. Basic needs that we take for granted but actual needs for these people. I am so touched!
@@megamillionswinner6367 it’s not pity; It’s empathy. I know what it means to not have anything because I came from that. No need asking me to leave them. Easy for you to say.

Whenever you go to a tribe or someones village you give them a gift, I love seeing that you brought them a gift for letting you stay there 😁 the hospitality of everyone was amazing and the vibes seemed very chill and nice. They even made a cool hut for you! This is amazing, proves that humanity still has kindness in its heart. Edit: I've been bit by fire ants and those aren't fun 😂 I was 8 when it happened and the knots on my foot were so bad I couldn't wear shoes or go to school for 3 days
The people of that tribe had such beautiful souls. Their willingness to open their hearts to outsiders was truly touching. It's a real shame how it ended. I hope nothing bad came of the tribe from the secret service. They have to persevere through enough as it is.
i am from Cameroon born and grew in that beautiful country and this tripe of people in the east of my country are one of the most amazing group of people you ever meet . They have an amazing life style e and they actually stay away from the technological advancements from the world and spending time with them you get to understand more thanks so much for choosing my country and this tribe for this experience
The best thing about this channel is how it keeps reminding us that we all live on this planet together and the importance of embracing different cultures and mindsets. We have so much to learn from each other! I'm in Bali these days and there's not a day that goes by that I'm not amazed by humble kindness or forced to evaluate why we seek comfort, instead of adventure and personal growth. I'll be back in Norway in a couple of weeks to celebrate Christmas, but then I'll be off again on new adventures until my savings dry up. And then... who knows what life has in store. It'll work out. In any case I won't need to fear regretting not going for my dreams when I'm older. Yes Theory inspires everyone around them, whether that being in real life, or here on UA-cam. Thank you for bringing us along, exciting as always😍

Absolutely loved the convo about airplanes. It’s amazing to see how the boy had no scope of how a plane could carry so many people. Yes theory, you’re doing amazing work
Really hope that boy can have a good future we are truely blessed
That was heartbreaking for me watch honestly. I almost cried. I don’t know why that clip with the boy asking about airplanes was so heavy for me emotionally. I hope he gets to experience it one day and see the world with his curiosity.❤️
I really wish they showed more of that conversation 😕
He wasn’t a boy, he was a man. Plus what was his name? A whole conversation and didn’t even bother to call him by his name. Quite sad really
The guy in the yellow shirt was amazing. We need more of those people in our busy world where we worry to much about the next thing.
Man this video got me tearing up, the Baka people were so sweet and open. They really deserve to be treated well by the authorities.

As a kid I lived in the edge of am african forest and I remember my dad would always leave excess food just incase for strangers that travel at night so they always get something to eat..people would shout in the middle of the night once they are out of the forest so villagers nearby would come meet them and take them home..we didn't know them..but we helped them and treated them so well ...😊

Me too I love it
i honestly loved seeing the kids reaction to the drone and how their faces just lit up with amazement
My mom is German and my dad is from Cameroon. My family is from the Bassa tribe, not Baka. So it was interesting to learn more about my country.
I couldn't help grinning all through this video. Proud to be an African. Job well yes theory. Blessings to y'all. Love from Nigeria!
The food part touched me deeply man, thanks for taking care of my people. Bless you 😭🙏🇿🇦

The conversation with the guy with the lightning and storm in the background was such a stunning and heartwarming moment ❤
I love how amazing all people are.. This tribe is wonderful, you could see a bit of innocence among them and it is like Pure Love
This is the most unsure I have ever seen Thomas. He is amazing and sweet, and I also think its good -and real - to se that not every meeting is as easy going! The villagers where so sweet❤️
Yes theory’s content is constantly introducing me to corners of the world I didn’t know existed
Sorry to see what happened at the end. I’ve been faced with the same situation, when you only have good in your heart and people mistake it that you’re somehow doing something malicious. Bravo Tom
P.s I literally never comment on videos but yes theorys’
24:25 How real this must have felt wow. Salute journalists for discovering more of what we didn’t know we were curious about
