Is Demellier worth the hype?

- Demellier leather goods has been on my radar for a while, and has been highly requested by you all here.
This is the Demellier London Envelope Clutch Bag.
Overall good leather and hardware, but despite the 'Made in Spain' label, I felt the craftsmanship was held back by some not so great internal assembly details.
I am looking forward to reviewing more leather goods from Demellier.

I was really about to pay a Demelier Vancouver bag online after watching so many UA-cam reviews about it, there are a lot of great reviews and raves in social media and then I remember to check your channel and I’m so glad I did. I will have to buy polene or stratberry instead. Thank you for what you do.

Please, please so Bvlgari serpenti bags... they also sell small leather goods if you want to go that way. They are luxury brands best kept secret to those of us who are collect these brand bags for quality first.

Totally agree with you, I purchased the clutch when it was on sale. And it shocks me that how unsoficiticated their stich is, and it is not as good as Coach, so I returned it.

@@tanner.leatherstein people are always talking about the previous quality of certain products vs now. It’d be worthwhile to see you deconstruct a vintage leather bag vs it’s current version, the differences in construction, workmanship, tanning processes, depending on the age of the bag and what may have changed in the production process. I’d definitely watch something like that

Hey Tanner! Are there any leather furniture brands you’d recommend? My parents have a sofa that has lasted 30 years and is still going strong. I bought Seville metalassé in off white, the style is so beautiful, but I’ve noticed parts of the glue inside coming off. Such a disappointment. Although I have 2 high luxury bags, I can no longer justify such absurd purchases. For the price point of a Demellier bag, I think quality is a must. I don’t know when we normalized high prices and shitty quality. I saw people on the comments talking about Polene being better in quality, but in my experience not great either, I have 4 Polene bags, and that also was disappointing as all of them got scratched so easily. I don’t use them a lot, and I’m very careful with my things.

I had found the Vancouver bag on sale and it did not feel like a $500 bag. The hardware was tarnishing (under the protective plastic), and the strap rubbed badly on the hardware it runs through on top of the bag. The leather didn't feel or smell like leather. Thankfully, it was returnable. I've purchased other mid-range bags from small leather makers, and this bag just did not compare to those.
When are they going on sale?

Hi! I don’t think that your review was fair. I have one Demellier bag and it didn’t come with a plastic bag, but in a really good paper one and of course the dust bag. Demellier has also other better designed and well crafted bags than the one you chose. Give them another chance 😊
Agree. I have had three Demellier bags and honestly the craftsmanship and grade of leather seem really good.

I would have to concur with the meh quality of Demellier. I just got my New York tote (croc embossed black) today which I was super excited for, but to my dismay, one of the button fell off when I detached it. I also own a Givenchy Antigona in croc embossed black and realized the Demellier's version is less shiny/ muted down, the look and feel wasn't as exquisite as I was expected, granted I'm comparing apple and oranges when it comes to the price point of Givenchy & Demellier. The New York tote does have a very unique design but look and feel was meh.

Demellier does not come packaged like this. They come in big, good quality boxes, with very nice bows. Everything is great quality and feels like opening high-end brand products. I bought 2 of their bags, and not sure why yours came this way. 😬 probably Neiman Marcus. 😅

Great review, thank you! Personally, I've had horrible experience with Demellier in terms of quality of their Vancouver bag, particularly when it comes to hardware and how leather wears and structure holds over time. The brand is no way close to Strathberry, Aspinal or Polene, unfortunately.

So this brand is overpriced for what it is. I think it should easily be in the price range of Kate Spade, Ted Baker, Poléne... love those brands personally, their quality is nice for what the price is.
I don't understand the flat, envelope design of this bag. It would definitely look sleek and chic to wear, but only if it were empty. Maybe you could put a phone and a loose credit card in it without distorting the shape too much, but most anything else--a lipstick, sunglasses, earpods--would create an ugly bulge.
I recently got a round equistrian Demelliervand I adore it. I bought it preloved - about $150 less than the Demellier web site. Begging for you to do a Hermes dupe I recently bought from Mille bags - a Kelly bag 25 cm black pebbled leather. It looks really good and the leather feels good with leather smell. It is meticulously made (to me) what cha think? Lots of people buying these Mille Bags.
I do not consider Demeillier is a luxurious brand and their price is very reasonable, so it is ok for me to buy them just to be trendy.
