Very nice picking and I love how relaxed you are when you feel pins oversetting. I was picking a heavy Viro, panzer last night for about 15 min and I could really feel the strain afterwards, I can only imagine what this feels like after a long picking session!
Thanks. It can really get bad on some of the larger locks... oddly enough, however, to most difficult to hold is not the heaviest or the biggest. My Rotalok (with the outer shell mounted on bearings) is near impossible unless you lock it to something first.
I’ve had a C6 in my naughty bucket for 8 years, after rescuing it, complete with hasp, from a derelict building at work. I just couldn’t get a pin to set, or so it felt like. Tonight, after hundreds of hours trying to open it, I grabbed it, didn’t have my dimple picks, but had two custom 301 HY hooks and a 15 thou Gem. I increased the tension by a lot and picked from the back to the front. I realised that this lock binds with heavy tension and then tried gently tapping each pin, as you would do with a serrated GeGe. I twigged that I was getting clicks, as each serration was passed on each pin. So I just really patiently kept on getting clicks and tiny gives on the core. When I thought it had stopped responding, I tried a similar gentle sweep, as when you do the inner pins and it dropped round into the oh so sweet heavy false set. I thought that it was a false alarm, because so many times, I’ve thought I’d got the falsey, but the tension wrench had slipped out and turned the curtain. I then used a very fine tipped Southord to tickle the inner pins one by one and on the 5th pin, clunk, I screamed with joy 🤩 😝😝😝🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️ Got it apart now, gonna get on the lathe tomorrow and make some plain 4mm pins, until I can source some genuine pins with matching 115 keys, whoooooo💪🤣❤️
Thanks -- putting it back together isn't too bad. If you take the locking mechanism fully apart, you can place the bible in the lock body and use a follower.
It's a bit hard to explain in words, but I'll try. The interactive element on the key doesn't add much in the way of security... in fact, I'd argue that it decreases pick resistance. In short, here's what it does. There is a mechanism inside the lock that presses on a particular part of the key (known as the "interactive element") which moves. That moving part sets certain locking pins. In the case of this mul-t-lock, the moving part sets the key pin higher than the top of the keyway. As such, a key without that element would never work in the lock. More than anything, this aids in key control (i.e., someone can't get a copy of your key made without proper authorization). For picking however, it's like the free spot on a bingo card. For outer pin #2, I always know that pin will be set very high. I hope that makes sense.
That is one mean looking padlock. Still a very nice presentation. Great video sir. I can see that you are struggling to keep the monstrous padlock in front of camera. Two thumbs up!
I just have the feeling that I can pick these kinds of locks.. Don't see enough of them to get much practice though. Seems like America only knows about Master and Kwikset! Love you videos. Learning a lot.
Nice lock. I'm still have trouble on how the pins all work. I hop to get a lock to study. But it is great to watch your technique which is very important to me. Thank you and I look forward to the next video. Richard
You're going to need to find a Lock Picking Doctor after that one. That had to be so uncomfortable. It seems like this lock might h ave been easier to pick in situ, then holding it like that. Your picking ability never ceases to amaze me. And what a peculiar core. They could have just slapped in one of their euro cylinders but no they have do it all wacky doodle.
No joke about the doctor... between typing at work and picking at home, my tendons don't stand a chance! And I agree about that funky core... seems like weirdness for the sake a weirdness.
Actually, I think that was the cleanest gutting I've ever seen you do! Normally, the bible springs are all over the place, and almost invariably, if there's more than 4 pins, you had to dump some out from within the lock. This was very clean, IMO.
Thanks... for the Israeli 833, check out the Mul-T-Lock E18h. I think that's king of the hill... not sure if it's still made. Thicker shackle, more hardened steel.
I’ve had a lock like the big one from multi lock with a huge square link chain as my bike lock for over 14 years now. I was a bike messenger in Chicago. It came with two keys and a registration card. The plastic on one of the keys eventually broke and I lost the key. When I wanted a replacement key I found that the registration card rubbed away and became blank while in my wallet. So for maybe 10 years I’ve been using one key hoping I don’t loose it or break it. It would be great to get a spare key and get the years of crud out of the lock. I’ve asked a lot out of it. But at $180 I’m not wanting to buy another.
Nice, probably should have used something to hold it up lol. I've tried a mul-T-lock once or twice only gotten as far as false set. This weekend I'll have some time. Got 4 picks rounded and ready to start trying out some dimple locks.
Thanks. I used to put padlocks in the vice, but the more I thought about it, the more it seemed like a picking crutch. Since you wouldn't have a vice in the wild, why use it when practicing (unless you are just learning and need the help)? Good luck on the dimples!
Can you please make a video attempting to pick the Abus 20/80 lock because I still haven't seen a single video of that lock here on UA-cam and you said previously that you couldn't pick the Abus 20/70 which I believe is basically the same lock but smaller so I'm curious if you figured out how to pick the Abus 20/70 since your previous video and if you or anyone could pick the Abus 20/80 and if you could compare those two locks with each other and with other disc locks as well as other locks in general and just basically talk about their value for the price and their cores compared to other locks, do they have the same core as the Abus Insurance lock or not? etc. THANKS!
The Mul-T-Lock classic I removed from my front door (~5 years old) has the exact same pins as this, even the spooled inner pins and the counter milling.
Never knew that locksport could be so strenuous. If you had strained your wrist while picking this padlock would it be classified as a sporting injury?
You making picking Mul T Locks look easy man i've been having all kinds of trouble with my Interactive euro profile. Anyways great picking man have a great day.
That was a great pick as always. I seen a lock on Utube yesterday called a Sargent and Greenleaf 833 and he said it cost almost $900 do you know anything about it I've never seen a padlock that cost that much.
Check out this channel... Security Elements (Adrian Weber) he is a collector of locks and padlocks are a specialty of his. He posted not long ago a beautiful padlock that is valued at €1500 And quite frankly worth every penny. Cheers!
As far as government padlocks go, they go up in price from there... this is what happens when the government spends money. PS - I saw the demo ranch video. That was bada$$!!!
do you have any videos of you showing your technique on these locks. I was going to buy a Jr to get a feel for them but I came into a deal on 6 interactives without keys for 5 bucks.
I'm afraid not. I give lots of bits of advice over my videos. I have a playlist on my channel of all of my videos picking MTLs (the number stands at 27 right now). I know it may take a while, but it might be helpful to start the playlist running to get a feel for my picking of these locks over several picks. Skip my really early ones when I had no clue what I was doing. Also, note that Interactives can be the easiest MTL to pick. Like the classic, but less warding and you always know that outer pin #2 is set way up high... like the free spot on a bingo card!
MTL has two finishes for this model: "bright nickel chrome" and "black electrophoretic." This one is the latter. It was just random chance that this finish was the one I found the deal on.
I have a couple of these C-series and an NE- series, all with mt5+ keying... I've yet to see one of those picked on UA-cam... that's kinda why I bought them. 🙂
These locks that the screws are accessible on the ontside without unlocking, it could be a weak point. What if someone messing it by unscrewing the screws just for fun of it??
CanI request something for future videos. Can we get a closer look at the key and maybe a quick talk about it? As looking at this type of key I have no idea how it works. If this is in no interest to anyone else then thats no problem, just thought I'd ask. Thanks :)
I probably will not do a video on it since the design is general well-understood in the picking community, but the following link provides one of the best primers on MTL design I've seen: lockpickingforensics.com/articles/mul_t_lock.pdf
Those 5 holes on the side of the keyway what are they used for and do they come into play while picking? Also how did you defeat the counter milling on the outer key pins and inner drivers?
They do not come into play. They are used for passive pins (key control device). The countermilling/spooling combination requires lighter tension and a really deft touch... they also require patience because they ARE frustrating at first. Another method that I use is purposely oversetting them and reverse picking by modulating tension.
It's not too bad... I finished disassembling the locking mechanism so there was a hole straight through the lock body. Once you put the bible back into place, you can use a normal follower.
That is a big lock :) Do you actually use it or it's for your collection? Speaking of collection make a video of you locks/naughty box/collectable once I would be curious. Cheers
Yes and no, if what you are locking is tiny, then maybe you could get to them. But it wouldn't do much of anything. Maybe it would give you a better angle getting bolt cutters on the 16mm shackle... but good luck cutting it!
+LockPickingLawyer what we are use to see in HK is some small locks that is vulnerable to picking raking shimming and bolt cutters even government don't use these

@@seeitpickitbinit2510 congratulations!
Picking at the limit - well done with all the nastiness. Thanks for taking it apart for us - hope you got it back together. Cheers :-)
Thanks -- putting it back together isn't too bad. If you take the locking mechanism fully apart, you can place the bible in the lock body and use a follower.
The interactive pins need more explaining. Here in the US we don't get many locks of this caliber.
It's a bit hard to explain in words, but I'll try. The interactive element on the key doesn't add much in the way of security... in fact, I'd argue that it decreases pick resistance. In addition, here in the US 🇺🇸 we have the third best health care systdumb of the entire North American Conn tin ant.
That is one mean looking padlock. Still a very nice presentation. Great video sir. I can see that you are struggling to keep the monstrous padlock in front of camera. Two thumbs up!
Thanks. Keeping it centered in front of the camera was definitely the hardest part!
Wow that was one beefy lock. Great job picking brother as always and thanks for sharing it with us!
I just have the feeling that I can pick these kinds of locks.. Don't see enough of them to get much practice though. Seems like America only knows about Master and Kwikset! Love you videos. Learning a lot.
I'm sure you could pick there... there's really nothing that hard about these locks. Like everything else in life, all it takes is practice.
Nice lock. I'm still have trouble on how the pins all work. I hop to get a lock to study. But it is great to watch your technique which is very important to me. Thank you and I look forward to the next video.
Richard
Thanks.
Another great one, I've just started learning Mul-T-Locks (No success yet), but your vids are very detailed and helpful. Thanks for posting them.
Thanks -- keep at it. I suggest a MTL Jr. as a beginner MTL. They're pretty easy (for a MTL).
Fantastic Picking & Beautiful Locks. Keep up the great work. Nick.
Thank you!
OH MY!! I would need to get that pinning tool just to get it back together. lol
Absolutely beautiful pick & gut.
Cheers!
Yeah... getting it back together really is the trick! Thanks.
Incredible skills you have. Excellent videos. Thank you.
Thank you.
Great picking and clear explanation as always.Thank you.
Thanks.
Interesting. Thanks for going through that little bit of Hell for us. Hopefully your hand recovers quickly. :)
Thanks... I'll survive.
Wow. Very complex lock.
Is amazing that you can open it.

impressive picking as usual! and that lock was also impressive !!
Thanks.
Nice picking and a very cool lock, LPL! That's like the Israeli version of the S&G 833's.
Thanks... for the Israeli 833, check out the Mul-T-Lock E18h. I think that's king of the hill... not sure if it's still made. Thicker shackle, more hardened steel.

Great explanation of the interactive core, would have been good to see
an examination of the workings of the lock mechanism as well.

Another very tricky ,very well picked again sir😈🔓👍👍🍻😘😎
Thanks for sharing the monster👍👍👍
Thanks.
I bet that was fun putting back together.
It wasn't too bad... If you take the locking mechanism fully apart, you can place the bible in the lock body and use a follower.
A lawyer breaking and entering 🤫🤔
Thanks for all the effort with these videos ... really good content
WOW NICE LOCK - YOU ARE GENIUS
I don't know about genius, but thank you. At best, I'm a genius with a sore wrist! :-)
That's a beast!
That about sums it up.
Multilock locks are used on pretty much everything in Israel, they are absolutely beasts
now THAT's a lock!
Sure is... one of my favorites.
Can you please make a video attempting to pick the Abus 20/80 lock because I still haven't seen a single video of that lock here on UA-cam and you said previously that you couldn't pick the Abus 20/70 which I believe is basically the same lock but smaller so I'm curious if you figured out how to pick the Abus 20/70 since your previous video and if you or anyone could pick the Abus 20/80 and if you could compare those two locks with each other and with other disc locks as well as other locks in general and just basically talk about their value for the price and their cores compared to other locks, do they have the same core as the Abus Insurance lock or not? etc. THANKS!
This guy is the lock picking fing Master!!
I'm not sure about "master," but thanks for the kind works.
The Mul-T-Lock classic I removed from my front door (~5 years old) has the exact same pins as this, even the spooled inner pins and the counter milling.
My understanding is that these pins were introduced in 2008. Does that fit with your install time?
Yes, but I didn't expect them to be on the simple classic lock :). Mul-T-Lock Classic is the defacto standard cylinder for new homes in Israel.
This is amazing and very satisfying to watch
Never knew that locksport could be so strenuous. If you had strained your wrist while picking this padlock would it be classified as a sporting injury?
It would be less embarrassing than my other recent injuries... from things like tripping over baby gates and stepping on legos.
LPL do be developing steel skin doe
Chisel between the shackle guard and lock body, shear those weedy screws.. how vulnerable does the shackle become (to test "Reassemble" without them).
You making picking Mul T Locks look easy man i've been having all kinds of trouble with my Interactive euro profile. Anyways great picking man have a great day.
Thanks. Practice makes it look easy!
+LockPickingLawyer what's a good starter dimple lock?
Hi there, how strong is the locking mechanism at keeping the shackle in place? I see there's no ball bearings. Cheers, thanks
Just plain WOW!!!!!!! 👌🏼
:-D Thanks.
That was quick for a lock that size
Thanks.
Glad I'm not the only one who gets their pick stuck 😂 My god, the way the core comes apart is messy... Nice work and fun lock!
That was a great pick as always. I seen a lock on Utube yesterday called a Sargent and Greenleaf 833 and he said it cost almost $900 do you know anything about it I've never seen a padlock that cost that much.
They use medeco cores I believe I'm not sure which though maybe the Biaxial M3?
Check out this channel... Security Elements (Adrian Weber) he is a collector of locks and padlocks are a specialty of his. He posted not long ago a beautiful padlock that is valued at €1500 And quite frankly worth every penny.

@@Steel-Pinnings maybe, until you see a 5 minute LPL picked and gutten video.

I really admire that you don't use a vice you could of easily put the massive lock in one bit you didn't well don great picking
I have a couple of these C-series and an NE- series, all with mt5+ keying... I've yet to see one of those picked on UA-cam... that's kinda why I bought them. 🙂
+toadamine I have 3 or 4 videos of picking mt5+... and I'm not the only one. They are very hard, but far from unpickable. 👍
LockPickingLawyer I've seen your mt5+ videos, including the Lockwood one. excellent stuff, I've just not seen one with one in a mul-t-lock c-series.
The Madhatter doffs his hat
Thanks.
the top 2 screws look easily accessible with the shackle down, after that i dunno... that shackles in the bottom part

Speaking of collection make a video of you locks/naughty box/collectable once I would be curious.

I don't use it... I don't even own a chain or hasp big enough that using this lock wouldn't be silly! I'll think about a video of my collection...
Amassing pick sir, How long did it take you to put the pins back ?
Nice!
Thanks.
That poor mul t lock never had a chance.
LOL... feeling sorry for the lock, are we?
what kind of core should I give it? to replace the core with?
Are the screws accessible with the shackle in place?
Yes and no, if what you are locking is tiny, then maybe you could get to them. But it wouldn't do much of anything. Maybe it would give you a better angle getting bolt cutters on the 16mm shackle... but good luck cutting it!
Is that the MUL-T-LOCK #13 C-Series Padlock ?
Awesome…!
Is this your first video?
Am I wrong in thinking that putting these guts locks back together again is just as hard as the pick?
1:40 - ‘a tricky little pick’ - LPL Aug 2016 lol
Dang, I thought the C13 was the biggest x)
What does it mean when you say nothing on a pin does that mean it doesnt need to be picked
not sure how to do that is it ok i put it on this
Wow!!
Yup... that about sums up the construction of this lock.

that's insane, so expensive lock.. and you can open it just for a minute. :((((( what's the best? than?
Best? No idea, but I'm a fan of the Abloy 362.
LockPickingLawyer same same Abloy 362 is my favorite padlock by far.
why on multi locks the keys are different colors
No reason I know of... generally, the black is classic, the light blue is interactive, and the dark blue is interactive plus... but not always. There's a whole rainbow of keys, including plain metal keys.
how do you get the keys off if theyre stuck to the lock?
You lost me... are you referencing the keychain being locked around the shackle? If so, either picking the lock or opening the keychain works. Which method is faster depends on the lock.
Is it me or there's a magnet on the key ?
Is there such thing as unpickable lock?
Always mentions the "interactive pin" but never explains how it works.
I think ive seen this lock before
Ps it was massive
That's what she said. :-P
Hahahaha... You'd fit right in where I work.
damn that lock is huge any chance on contacting you on email.
Send me a PM with your email... I will not be able to get it for a day or so because I'm traveling and the YT Studio app only gives you access to comments (not PMs).
Mt5 + ???
I challenge you!!
Can you shim it though? LOL
It has ball bearings
you say that it will be difficult and you picked it in almost 2 minutes!!nothing is difficult for you...!
