  • The new Santa Clara County public health order requires all of us to continue to shelter in place through May 31, but it also eases some restrictions. Here is how the new public health order affects Palo Alto.
👷‍♂️👷‍♀️ Construction Resumes: The new health order allows all construction types to restart, but requires new safety protocols to be implemented on the job site.
🎾 Some Rec Sites Reopen: Tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball courts, the skate park, and athletic fields are now reopened. Please follow all posted rules to ensure public health and safety. The Palo Alto Baylands and Foothills Park are now open on weekdays to vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists. Arastradero Preserve is open on weekdays to pedestrians and bicyclists only. All Open Space Preserves are open on weekends to pedestrians and bicyclists only.
😷 Wear A Face Covering: The County is strongly urging the community to wear face coverings when away from home. It is now required to wear a face covering when visiting essential businesses.
🌳 Gardening and Landscaping Allowed: The new health order eases restrictions with new safety protocols ensuring social distancing and wearing face coverings while working. Gardening and landscaping are now allowed.
🥡 Support Local Businesses: Local Palo Alto grocery stores and pharmacies remain open, and restaurants are open for takeout. For a list of open grocery providers and restaurants, go to cityofpaloalto.org/supportlocal.
❤️ Remember: We are in this together.
