Wishing you all the best, Just want to give you that small bit of support to say What you're doing doesn't go unnoticed. The QA aspect of calling out miscategorized line items is nice, building out the QA portion of accounting can be tough. The 1099 functionality is light years ahead of what I’ve done at any firm. Current firm says “you tell us what 1099’s need to be filed and the numbers, and we’ll fill and send off the forms”, which is a giant step back in value compared to this Keeper demo. The uncat expense capability is so much better than the email chain back and forth, and it’s nice this is part of Keeper so you potentially don’t also need Uncat on top of this. Then it’s got project management functionality as well!? Dang lol Wondering what the snags are, if any, from real world use after a season or so! Also, is this kind of a sneak peek of what the demo days in Realize look like?
Re: the Realize demo days, for those ones we have the actual folks who run the tools in live to demo it 30-60 mins and field any of the questions. So those are quite a bit different, not edited down videos like these.
@@jasoncpa perfect, those folks will just have to dial up the witty repartee that we’ve all grown accustomed to in your vids! Looking forward to subbing to Rlz.
Great video! Just had my demo with Keeper today. In comparing it with other accounting specific tools (Karbon, JetPack Workflow, etc), this one is has almost every bell and whistle I could want. My "unicorn" product would allow me to "assign" tasks to a specific day so that I don't leave too many tasks to do on a certain date (and so I can get everything done in time). Do you know if/how I can utilize Keeper for that?
Great to hear it! Hmm unsure on the balance of not having too much on a specific date - maybe a unified cross-client view would be helpful there? I had the same problem
Is the uncategorized transaction info request send the client an email like UnCat? Like you've covered before on the podcast, your client lives in their email, not all the different client portals. If it isnt able to email that request i feel like it would be more effort to try to get a client to login to portal than it would be to either use UnCat or copy the info into an email.
Just love the concept, but couple of things that just not making it work 100% for us beining based in South Africa and using Xero. Hoping it will work better for non-US based firms in future!
@@ens8280 They support Xero now! They didn't support tax workflows for years, so I do know a good number of non-US folks who swear by it, but yeah ultimately South Africa-specific workflows I don't suspect are on the near-time roadmap.
Okay how do you enter transactions in bulk to Quickbooks desktop if client refuses to give electronic files but only sends bank statements in pdf or paper
Moe you're on the wrong video but check out AutoEntry or redact the identifying bits and chuck dem statements into a language model that'll give you a structured CSV back
If they give you physical bank statements instead of files, I would try and see if Adobe Acrobat let's you copy and paste text from a Scan. But if not you can try an OCR plug-in (i.e., reads text from a photo and gives you text you can simply copy and paste)
Might have breezed past but is the "meets 1099 threshold" purely amount based, or can it sift out if it's an S-Corp or some other entity, if I customize it ?
@@RomeoHatesShrimp if you mark a vendor as "1099 not needed" (e.g., because they're an S-Corp), then it will filter those vendors out of the Prepare 1099s report 🙂
@@RomeoHatesShrimp My impression was the "meets" filtering was just the $600, and entity-based is the "needs 1099 or not" tagging, but @keeper7524 probably has more info
@@jasoncpa yep there are actually two default filters on the report - "reportable spend > $600" and "1099 needed status = no or unknown" You can edit these filters though!
Bookkeeper for 7 years here, just recently started using Keeper and have to say...I love your demonstration and how you deliver info! New sub here!
Welcome!
Yes, yes it is. Keeper is what I'm using to scale my accounting firm.

@@jasoncpa Thanks, Jason. I'll try that out.
can you do bookkeeping alone in Keeper app without integrating it to Quickbooks or any accounting software?
I believe you can have projects in Keeper that aren't collected to a ledger, but Keeper won't function as the ledger
Keeper! Please add a tax trial balance feature!

Yeah, from seeing this, the next logical step is to expand the functionality to tax info requests and tax project tracking!

Yep that's how it works, clients access the portal via Magic Links (they don't need to set up a new username/password)
@@keeper_app Ah perfect, love magic links. Thanks for the info, I'll probably take a closer look at Keeper since I'm using UnCat anyway.
