BTW: i mis-remembered, it's Unstoppable Champs & Barrier (if you're radiant), unsure why I said Overload Champs, not correct. Doesn't matter though, still a hard hitting badass PvE weapon, doesn't really change the fact that it's a top tier exotic. Good luck with your farming! My Destiny 2 Damage-Stacking Guide, for reference: ua-cam.com/video/IkaG48zpAGk/v-deo.html Root of Nightmares becomes the weekly featured raid today at reset (about an hour from this vid going up), good luck with farming. Unless it receives heavy changes in S23, it will continue to be one of the most dominant weapons in PvP, not to mention a solid champ buster in PvE.
While on the topic of it being a good champion weapon. you can also get inside the barrier champions shield and shoot them with the freeze shot, it will make them freeze and get rid of their shield.
Great video, I think I get it now: 1) everyone should use Thunderlord because Fallout said to, and 2) it's completely unforgiveable to miss a 1-phase. Thanks!
Did this with my clan last rotation and got damn good on the plates. Managed to get Conditional twice in a row during 17 runs. Love the hell out of this gun.
Teach this raid pretty regularly. Always recommend the Tunderlord/Div strat with people learning. It is an easy 2 phase that is not at all complicated and causes less deaths. Works great to get you through after a long teaching run
You don't need 3 time dilation mods. 1x time dilation (class item) plus 1x Charged Up (chest) gives you 4x armor charge that will last longer than most DPS phases
There’s nothing incredibly useful in the class item slot but chests can have very useful resistance mods. For newer players, I’d prioritize survival over charged up. But to each their own
I don’t see any need to run more than one time dilation mod, or charged up. 3 armor charges (which you get from Well of Radiance) will last 45 seconds with a single Time Dilation mod. If the damage phase is longer than 45 seconds, you’re likely gonna be dropping a second Well after 30 seconds anyway, and re-upping your armor charge that way. Hitting headshots with golden gun will also create orbs during a damage phase for your teammates, and it’s not the only thing that does this. If you’re not getting armor charge because you’re the one dropping a well, ask one of your teammates to put “radiant friends” on their helmet
Some advice for mechanics: - If you make both refuges, one will override the other. Don’t get the correct refuge and then unknowingly jump over the plate with the wrong one. - When shooting Nez’ shoulders, don’t shoot them too fast or they may break without revealing the refuge. You can wait to shoot the shoulders until after you shoot his chest to completely avoid this. - If you’re a hunter using a damage super, try to swap to Star Eater’s Scales before damage. Pick up one orb and then the 3 orbs dropped from Well of Radiance, and your 4x Feast of Light will buff your super damage a lot. If you have two hunters running Gathering Storm, wait for one to run out before using the second one. The damage doesn’t fully stack. - If Nezarec tends to be taking a while to start damage, clearing ads can make damage start faster. - You can look up at the pyramid/root where Nezarec spawns to see when he’s about to get beamed. - Last plate on light side keeps Nezarec from moving as much as the other plates, but you need to stand on the very back of the flower. If just one single person on your fireteam is standing too far forward, Nezarec can do a slam attack and fling people off the map. If you’re all at the back, he’ll just kinda sit there while you take his lunch money.
What do you mean "one refuge will override the other." I thought the point was that you have both refuges always made, so all you need to know is which one to go to.
Personal recommendation, Merciless as your special weapon, does an unholy amount of damage even without buffs so adding a well plus tractor is insane, I used it on both my Root runs and as the Wellock came out with 2nd highest damage just from merciless
I want Bungie to buff the current raid/dungeon exotics to a similar level as Finality. Like the exotic bow Hierarchy of Needs is so cool, but it's really missing something to make it usable. Exotics like Heartshadow sword or The Navigator fusion rifle are such cool exotics, but they're all missing something to be used more often. I just don't know what that something is.
I got it after join a group that was farming nezerc. I literally just did add clear and did terrible boss damage but it was always a one phase. Got it in 3 runs.
Sleeper (with catalyst) has been my go to damage option for most lfgs solid damage no blowing yourself up.. missing shots can suck but if you hipfire it its still dead accurate enough to hit its mark. Anytime i hear rocket strat i keep sleeper on.. its safer and people dont complain after they see the damage numbers, if your new and have the catalyst I highly recommend.
Thunderlord has been a very consistent 1 phase DPS option with the LFG team I've done this with when RoN first came into rotation. Ppl were like bruh but they gave it a try and we consistently 1 phased him rather than RNG with rockets.
Handles anti-barrier too, just walk inside their little bubble with the stasis shot, blast em and boom no more anti-barrier. It handles all three champion types
The only reason I can never find a group to raid with is because I have severe anxiety issues and I always tell myself I'll look for a group but always hesitate. I always get people who say lets not get toxic or rude if you mess up but their is always someone that starts something then starts blaming one another and if you fail even once people will get upset. I wish I could easily find friends who're patient and are happy to teach me without being rude and help me be more comfortable so I can go out and raid more easily.
I felt the exact same way, until I just got so tired of wanting Touch of Malice that I actually jumped into a kings fall group. I watched a few different raid guides to prepare myself and because of that I knew the strats, just had to put them into practice. My first KF clear went well but by the time my seconds one came around I was so comfortable with what I needed to do it’s like I had been raiding forever. It can be hard to take that first jump in, but if you watch a few videos, you will be prepared, and most people won’t care that it’s your first time. Good luck guardian!
i feel u but as someone who lfgs very often lfg is honestly not as scary as some people make it out to be. there will always be someone u may not like very much or has an ego but u kind of just have to ignore it. part of it is also on u though, if u go in with very out of meta loadout and are not listening at all, people will get tilted very quickly. its not hard to get good ad clear and dps options anymore, especially with crafting being a thing, so just equip urself well and go into it confident, also make sure not to lie and say u know how to do the raid, it can be pretty obvious when someone does not klnow what they are doing. also, u can always just leave the call and game if u do not feel comfortable with that lfg group, its a video game, u are supposed to have fun, not stress over.
Seeing Thunder-lord being recommended does not help the LFGs thinking its the best thing since sliced bread. I swear it must be something with lightning exotics cuz cloud-strike was the same thing for beyond light
Grinding for this gun took a toll, but after approx 70 runs the last time RoN was the featured raid, I got it. Granted, all those runs sorta burned me out so I haven’t really used it yet. Glad it’s still worth.
THANK YOU ! Got conditional on my 14th run(2 fulls 12 finals) Hope this works for people but what worked for me was switching characters! Hope that helps
As someone who hasn’t taken this weapon off in months, with two solar reload mods on your arms you can also kill barrier champs as you’ll freeze them again before the barrier can proc
Bit of a more random one, but using the RoN raid weapons with the right perks does ok as well, ~ +10% for three on tormentors, add harmony+20%, spike nades ~ +10 and with envious assassin to get a big mag load right into a div bubble...it's all very passive esp teamed up with surges.
Last time I ran RoN, I used a crafted Retrofit Escapade with Forth Times the Charm and Target Lock. I was also running a grabbed grenade on Hunter so I didn't need to reload as often.
Wow Fallout. You're video was so resourceful and helpful. I will use this content to [Insert video's intended purpose] and succeed in my endeavors. I am absolutely making this comment because I watched the full video already and not because I really enjoy your streams. That would be silly to support a streamer on a video streaming platform. My favorite (effective) dps setup has been reign of fire warlock with apex predator, mindbenders (or felwinter), and conditional finality or any aggressive shotgun like imperial decree or astral horizon if you don't have conditional
I can confirm from our team's experience. 1 Divinity + 5 Leviathan Breath with Catalyst + 1 Lunarfaction = Easy One Phase (Everyone has to equip 3 Void Surge and 1 Void Reload) The second Well use Radiant Light and Powerful Friend Mods for giving extra Armor charge towards the Last stand.
This is just to clarify things not to call you out on a mistake but It does not handle overload as it freezes without slowing. Long story short both mods stun unstop and non stun overload.
The weird thing is that given the setup is more or less the same for LFRs and Thunderlord, groups should probably be okay with a less confident player who doesn't have Div etc. just using thunderlord rather than whiffing ineffectually into the void (again the easiest solution is probably to have them on Div, but it's a raid exotic from an old raid).
Conditional Finality is the GOAT for shotguns. It literally is good at immobilizing with stasis, and the solar follow up dealing massive damage is big ouchie. Also Fallout u describe the encounter mechanics in a way even Titans would understand thanks man! 🎉
To add onto the great but not optimal DPS list, fourth times target lock retrofit. If you are accurate or you're like me and you choke your mouse during DPS to maintain stability without a divinity you can definitely do this and it works just like Tlord minus the lightning. I get asked repeatedly how I crank out the damage numbers I do without rockets and it's basically everything in this video with that machine gun gathering storm or pyrogale burning maul with witherhoard
genuine question, is there any downside to having an adclearer creating a refuge immediately? i’ve been in several lfg groups where the runners will absolutely refuse to do refuge immediately because they’re fast enough that refuge isn’t needed, and then we wipe several times because they aren’t fast enough to avoid the wipe mechanic. it just seems like it’s a very low effort back up plan so i’m curious why a lot of people i play with are so against it
I've literally only done it twice, once after the 48 hours and once during the craftening. Im going to try it again, well at least the nez fight this weekend to see how i fare at my current level and without the ammit.
Honestly, I am part of the noise. Aside from not having the time to do a raid, I'm pretty sure no one would join an LFG post that pretty much reads: "carry dead weight through raid to get random exotic drop"
Had a friend invite me to farm when I've never done the raid. Quickly picked up on how to run. Honestly didn't even want the exotic but ended being the first ones to get it lol. Good times.
I'm on the fence. I LFG'd Crota and we spent 3 hours on the opening encounter before our sherpa gave up. On the other hand: I LFG'd Kalli runs and it wasn't a problem at all.
Please correct if I’m wrong, but if your runners go too fast Nez starts damage phase on top of his platform instead of on the battlefield. Is that still a thing? Also how do avoid the wipe mechanic at the same time? Is it possible to do both?
Ideally if you're farming, you want a no refuge one phase. You can absolutely get the no refuge run as long as you wipe first after launching checkpoint, as nezzy's crystal pop animation eats up time for the first refuge. Make sure the gazer lures him close to the DPS plate before finishing the last seed, otherwise it'll be hard to have optimal damage.
This is correct, but only after the wipe mechanic.. if they can finish before the wipe mechanic, he will already be down. After wipe mechanic, one runner must wait til someone shoots his chest to bring him down to finish the nodes.
Yeah I barley raided and farmed this without doing last time it was farmable and I lgf’d it was upfront and found multiplevteams to farm it. The only thing u need with lfg is PATIENCE. If u got that ull eventually find ppl to farm. BERY WORTH IT.
The reason why people say it can do multiple types of champions is because of the stasis freeze. Freeze the enemy, swap to an applicable way of melting the champ. Done. It is an effective strategy.
@@JimJamScadoot That still does not stun them, and in fact freeze is risky on overloads the most, as it cucks the actual stun and can get them to regen health again. He made a mistake in the video, it's not that big a deal. It'll only stun unstops, period.
@patacueja "stun" being a very common irl term can confuse people. The in-game verbiage I agree with you, but to some, being frozen in place for a period of time so you can stop them and deal with them can be interpreted as a "stun". I think that's why people argue over the term and which weapons do multiple types of stuns.
Why don't people like Thunderlord? Sorry but there is nothing wrong with Thunderlord... It takes out Rhulk, Nez, Taniks easily. There is nothing wrong with Thunderlord.
Because it isn’t the omega gamer meta pick, I guess? My team and I did Nez day 1 no problem with Thunderlord and Retrofit, and still use that loadout to this day without any issues.
‼️ HAVE A SPARE CHEST WITH 3x RESERVE MODS‼️ (for your DPS weapon) Rally using that, then swap back to your normal piece, you keep the extra reserves. Maybe add this to your pinned comment, it’s a basic tip for any DPS encounter with a rally.

The in-game verbiage I agree with you, but to some, being frozen in place for a period of time so you can stop them and deal with them can be interpreted as a "stun". I think that's why people argue over the term and which weapons do multiple types of stuns.
Watching this video even though I already have conditional....
Verity brow is good as well
I will not apologize for liking T-Lord 😂
bro is farming super energy with thunderlord faster than conditional finality
i won't go to the forbiden zone aka lfg
So...... Have five friends that are professional carriers.
With this farm, 3 professional carriers is plenty. The rest can just run around and kill stuff and not die
I want this double barrel shotgun so bady, but i really don't wanna have to deal with people (And this game's boring meta tbh)
We use d3 lol, but yeah this shotgun is like, is one of THEE best gun
Fallout, what are some good lfg discord groups?
‼️ HAVE A SPARE CHEST WITH 3x RESERVE MODS‼️
(for your DPS weapon)
Rally using that, then swap back to your normal piece, you keep the extra reserves.
Maybe add this to your pinned comment, it’s a basic tip for any DPS encounter with a rally.
Nice farm bro
