Beastie Boys music is "THE" soundtrack to a generation's life.
Still is and always will be.
I feel that !!!!!
AD-ROCKs voice is everything
I completely agree! Ad Rock is my jam for days!
I've always preferd Mike's
I agree, but the beauty of the Boys IS that their style are individually so unique but they still blended perfectly.
I had seen them multiple times in the 1990s.
They always put on a good show and Ad-Rock was always on point.
mca
Still one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE BANDS. RIP MCA
this beer is raised to MCA
My all time favorite band....still makes me sad 😢
Fo reeeelz homes
I give thanks, for inspirations
If you weren't around or growing up when Check Your Head came out, you really have no idea how impactful that album was.
Facts
I agree. I always say check your head is their best album. It was so original and fn good. They were in the zone when they made it. They were having fun and making great music.
Let’s hope some people bother to look at the roots.
Yessirrrrrrr
only 60s kids understand
I love how MCA sets the tone with his first verse, just kills it. Hell, this might be one of the best Beastie songs of them all.
When some dude randomly throws Adrock a basketball still gets me. You can see on MCA's face that shit wasn't planned. But Adrock just keeps going like it's nothing. Dope AF. RIPMCA
Good spot man - totally agree.
Shit is perfect, he mentions Clyde right then too AKA the man Walt Frazier
Hard to believe it's been so long ago now....I seen these guys for a $15 concert ticket
One of the best shows ever 🤘
❤ 😂 When? And Where?
2:00 when Mike D rhymes Commercial with COMMERCIAL, classic!!
Seriously what a group, I can't put in to words how unique these cats were, rip MCA 🙌🏻
I can.... sense of humour!
They were poopie
Man... I just, I wish we had more music like this today. Beastie Boys were way, ahead of their time. Appreciate these three MC's so much. Thanks for passing the mic.
So ahead of there own time they got another chance in the year 3000
Just gotta look deeper, man.

These guys are dope enough Logic gave them a verse.
I used to rock this shit in my Walkman stoned af playing Mortal Kombat in the arcade
@Christina Azarian yeah, I can imagine that.
lol don´t get gaming in context with these cultures AT ALL
@@hjibakkkihjibakkki6408 k
HELL YEAH!!!
i remember
Something I love about the Beastie Boys is that they made music because they wanted to. It's easy to see that they didn't give a shit about money or fame because, to them, it's just 3 friends making music for fun and the money and fame just happened to come with it. If they were nameless nobodies making $6 an hour at Walmart, they'd still be doing the same shit because they love the music and they love each other.
Where do people come up with things like this haha
@@ogamibirdflu5152 Maybe from the Beastie Boys book. Or the history they had with Def Jam, or just following the rest of mainstream music industry, or just listening to their albums and following the guys through the decades
Word .. thats how best music & artists were born
Yo $6 an hour was GOOD money in the 80s. Minimum was around $4
Naw, they were destined for stardom (with that talent) in a time when music needed something refreshing and new. They combine music, art, and film like masters of an alternate reality
the Beastie Boys age like fine wine; shits still dope.
Track marks indeed!
STILL love these guys. NOBODY has even come close to matching them. #RIPMCA
ja no it
Sabotage.
Michael Powell LEGO your EGO
igual aos Beastie boys nunca mais vai ter
@Michael Powell STFU
This is the culture everyone should talk about
I love those drums
Yes.
"Everybody's rapping like it's a commercial, acting like life's a big commercial, so this is what I got to say to y'all: be true to yourself and you will never fall."
He was supposed to say "rehearsal" for the second instance of commercial but flubbed it. They just went ahead and kept it.
He's Mike Fuckin' D. He can rhyme commercial with commercial.
That hit me too..saw them on book tour few weeks ago in SF. What a class act. Still fun..chill..n flowin...RIP Mca!!
A real hiphop quoteable! 4 sure! ✌🤕🎤&💙bro
Thanks
He'll be layin down bars in heaven, RIP MCA
RIP, MCA.
still mowin down emcees at the pearly gates
God himself is hype by real hip hop
If you listen carefully, both MCA and BIZ MARKIE are laying down beats in Heaven.R.I.P to the both of them.
My 14 year old daughter loves these guys. ADORES Mike D and has memorized so many lyrics. She actually reintroduced me to them.
That's tight!
@@prof3ssor178 she is vibing to "something's got to give" at this moment.
You're raising her right!
She should be listening to more contemporary music, like 'My Pal Foot Foot' by The Shaggs.
"Everybody rappin like it's a commercial, acting like life is a big commercial" - Explains every single rapper out right now.
When Adrock spells his name and he’s wearing a different outfit for every letter 😂😂
One of the best things I ever saw
Thanks just noticed
Didn't know thanks.
@@peppersneeze267 c
0:58 THAT'S SO FUCKING AWESOME! :)
This is the sound of generation X
Rest in peace MCA you f****** legend
a masterpiece... Beastie Boys forever
"One of Beastie Boys hardest song"🤷🏾♂️🔥🔥🔥🔥
For sure
This is TRUE old school.
lmao
It is they brought it back to the beginning when the gangster shit was banging
That shot of Mike D with the king behind him is classic.
This song is the start of my car audio addiction
My goodness, what fun these young gentlemen were.
I've seen skaters shred so bad ass to this song. It's like there's some energy in this song for them.
It's mandatory
I used to always listen to this when used to skate. Great memories😌
@@LOU-oo9zx beastie boys X sk8 is the life
that's Christian on the mini ramp!!!
Back in the day, yes we did..funny that my brother and I were just discussing this.
His name was MCA and he still does what he pleases
this kinda hurt
Except breathing.
Aw that was too easy give it some effort m8
Jason Brodbeck no you.
Timothy McDermid who needs that?
This was the first song I put on after I found out that Yauch had passed. I was so mad and sad and overwhelmed. Much love to Beastie Boys, and you, if you're reading this. RIP MCA all day
10 YEARS #RIPMCA RIP Beastie Boys! :(
so much ny swag even when he catches the ball at 2:52. love the beastie boys RIP MCA 😢
I love how in-your-face this track is.
There will never be music like this again. We live in a different world where the definition of "Music " is not what we once knew. This needs to be cherish and shared for the world to hear.
Its alive, just not front page.
ua-cam.com/video/WS2nS5PTuaY/v-deo.htmlsi=KwBAPn21Vh_-2kxV
"So rock rock, y'all, tick tock, y'all" Straight fire
This is most definitely one of their best tracks, their interplay and lyrics have always been astounding, here they proven that and their inventiveness once again.
RIP Yauch. Loved that dude. Love all those guys. Genuine people.
The vibe within them is just insane! Nobody else can handle the rope they have.
That snare is simply amazing
Only the Beastie Boys sample Bad Brains!!!
I love this band, and I am so glad I got to see you guys live. You were pioneers and no one has touched you since.
R.I.P. MCA
beastie boys one of my favorite hip hop groups white boys. bad brains one of my favorite punk bands black dudes.
I got to see them live back in 85' for their License To Ill concert with Murphy's Law and Fishbone and what a show.
nobody now knows how to be cool.
Besties also had them on tour with them. I seen them play together in the late 90's in Sacramento. At least i think it was there. lol I was all fucked up in them days.
s
Damon Kelly i saw the open for Madonna, and they got booed
Beastie Boys didn't suck, they were amazing, people didn't like them cause they couldn't handle the level they were on… They changed the hip hop game with best intentions and succeeded RIP MCA.
I mean they bounced for 4 years at a time came back dropped a album and smashed like they never missed a beat! Their staying power was absence no-one can say that nowadays!
Dopest white boys to ever play the game.
@@mojaveranger9680 Legendary Game Changers For Sure 💯
And they were around in the early years already.
Whoever said they sucked?
"I'm always on time, never the less y'all"
Time is of the essence!
R.I.P. MCA
COULDNT SAY IT ANY BETTER MYSELF!!! THE MEMORIES OF THE SUMMER OF 1992 ARE STILL IMPRINTED IN MY MIND FOREVER!!!!
BE TRUE TO YOURSELF AND YOU WILL NEVER FALL.
more upvotes for the tunes that continue to save my life to this day
I'm still in love with AD-ROCK
Me with Mike D.

Well damn somebody gotta give love to my man Mike D! Always loved these guys, just iconic & genuine. RIP MCA, you are missed!
MCA still in our hearts, because that voice mark our souls
My favorite Beastie Boys Song. Be true to yourself and you will never fall.
MCA rocking his Snowboard pants and Sorrels. You can even see his ski pass on his right leg pocket flapping in the wind What a beauty.
I cannot believe more people haven't LIKED this comment!!! ♥️♥️♥️
A phone call from Utah and I’m throwing a panic
License to ill I had on tape in 1985 when I was in 5th grade. Been rocking them ever since.
"be true to yourself and you will never fall" 🍀
MCA hasn't fallen guys. He stayed true to himself. He wont be forgotten. BIP adam
I feel blessed to be part of the generation who grew up with the Beastie Boys. MCA... may you rest like you lived, in peace.
To have been 20 years old when this came out, and already a fan since the beginning in my early teens, I feel truly blessed to have lived during their era, and to have just existed at the same time to experience them too. Cool stuff! The Beastie Boys were their own thing, a blend of punk with hip-hop and rap and rock and the sampling and old school MC style, just super grateful to be here now!
Paul's Boutique and Check Your Head are 2 amazing albums
"So This Is What I've Got To Say To You All
Be True To Yourself And You Will Never Fall"
People often say Paul's Boutique is the best Beasties album but Check Your Head is the best imo. Love the instrumentation and the lyrics
I love how they played their own instruments on this album, fuckin sick.
Nah because this song gotta be put in history 🙏🏼🙏🏼
straight up real hip hop.... destroys anything that is out right now...
Who else can rhyme "commercial" with "commercial" and still be dope as hell
HAHA i always thought the hook was "commercial acting like life is a big rehearsal"but it appears your right
Sam Schutte Lol. And then later they rhyme "A" with "A" when they say- "And now I'd like to pass the mic to the A....my name is M.C.A" Badasses!
It was suppose to be "commercial" and "rehearsal" but Mike D messed up and the Adam's wouldn't let him do another take. So they kept the two "commercial" in the mix.
Brad Query Well even though this was edited last year I have to say there are rappers who could easily destroy this better than beastie boys but this is a classic
"Stay true to yourself and you will never fall."
I miss the importance of their music in these crazy times. They helped me guide myself through this world since I was 15. Gratitude. 🙏
My fave b-boys jam of all. Fun but ominous.
RIP to the great MCA.
This was when hip-hop emphasized the snare. Nowadays they have forgotten about the snare. Dat New York snare sound
me gusta saludes desde honduras.
No young deniro looked like him
These days it’s all about the auto tune
TheJofrica gots to have it bro
If anything, nowadays - the kick/bassdrum is overly emphasised
This was only one of five songs I knew from them, but I heard this song at least 100 times. I feel really bad because two days ago, two days after he died, I heard this song and skipped it because I heard it so many times. I can't believe I didn't know he died until yesterday. I wished I never knew he died. Wow I hope they're all doing all right.
Every sample had to be cleared after this album dropped. Changed the sample game
The way Adam points at Adam at 0:30
I can't recall how many times I listen to this album. In various states of mind. Truly a perfect work if art! Thank you beastie boys for the influence you were in my life!
Adrock always had the most natural swag of the three, but love them all.
“So put your worries on hold, get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul.” - RIP MCA
🤘🏻🎵🖤
I’m 66 and have always loved the Beastie Boys, no drugs , no putting bitches down, just playing dominos and skateboarding, but cool as hell!
69 and same.

These guys have to be the coolest people on UA-cam.
The coolest people before UA-cam.
They're the coolest people to ever live.
Immediately I'm 15 in h.s. skateboarding in the b.k. parking lot. This entire album defined my sophomore year. Best concert too. Henry Rollins and Da Lynch Mob opened for them. I was right up against the stage the entire time basically front row even though it was all g.a. Haven't listened to in years yet I still know all the lyrics.
Hell yeah bro!! Truthfully this is probably the Beastie Boys best song. Sic memories for you tho
"Be true to yourself and you will never fall"
Before the Internet the Beastie Boys were profits telling us that “life is like a big commercial” like how we try to sculpt our online image 🤯
Listening to this on a walkman while skating oh the memories!
Rest in Peace MCA ... Gone but never forgotten.
One of their best songs
Fasho
Crazy that this came out when I was a freshman in high school, and the B-Boys look like kids in this video as I watch it at 46 years old. Goddamn time flies.
0:15 If you can feel what I’m feeling then it’s a musical masterpiece
1:26 I give thanks (thanks) for inspiration
2:00 Well, everybody’s rapping like it’s a commercial
Yes. Adam Yauch. You defined a movement in music. Defined a genre and you will be missed
0:59 is the best part
I've been looking for this comment.
I freaking love him.
Absolutely
This was the album jammin in the boombox while skating.
One of the best Beastie songs from one of the best Beastie albums.
I for one like the feeling of bass in my face in the crowd
One of those songs that literally cannot be played loud enough.
Beastie boys fan for life. Their videos are dope. The grit
MCA's flow was fucking legendary. RIP.

I remember when this video came out and I was like THE BEASTIE BOYS ARE BACK!!!! I was super hype cause this song kicks so much ass. Went out and immediately bough the album which is IMO their best most diverse album hitting so many styles and vibes, a damn masterpiece.
This is one of my favorite songs to drop in my car. It's got mad bass, dope lyrics, and killer sound all around.
The intro is so hard 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You can rock every single one of those outfits in 2021
Whoever produced this know's their shit
Beastie boys produced this and engineer Mario c.
***** figured.. that mario c likes to keep it clean
I'm going to say hurricane is on this one. not mixmaster mike or mario c... Not even sure who mario c is tbh.
They're chillin' like a villain with the Mario C. In the studio, it's the place to be.
