Well, to be fair there's a good reason why Nincada has the Ground typing. It's based on a cicada nymph, which live underground for many years until they eventually emerge and become fully-fledged adult cicadas.
I mean, the name clearly indicates it, but I still kinda thought they were more inspired by mole crickets.
Missed opportunity to have it evolve at level 17 (since that's how many years it usually takes for cicada nymphs to mature)
@@_Obey_ nah, it's more than just the name, the Nincada line are based on stories of ninjas using cicada imitations to mask their presence and the "cicada skin technique", a method of misdirection using decoys. It's _very_ cicada-based.
Iirc this is also why upon evolving you get the pure bug type ninjask (an adult cicada) and if you leave an empty slot, the bug/ghost Shedinja (discarded shell)
Delcatty is a hoen pokemon. So it was probably made with contests in mind.

I understand your reasoning for choosing Sableye for Ghost - it *is* a more sensible Dark-type...

Well Ron, i just wanted to let you know here is the ducklett lover to prove that a lot of random bad pokemon have fans. Ducklett is in my top 5 and has made its way into a couple different usernames. My favorite type is water and I love ducks, so Ducklett! I personally think Duckletts cool.

The bias is real. Honestly, a cave dwelling humanoid that eats actual gems is way spookier than an owl with a bow

Decidueye is grass type too so of course it will look like well not a dark type much
The ghost type doesn't just mean 'creepy'. Decidueye is based on an extinct animal, which makes it Ghost for a similar reason to Dragapult. There are also Polynesian myths that indicate to the ghost type. Just read the Origin section on Bulbapedia.
Okay but sableye is ghostly (at least to me) because I enjoy different mythology, and Sableye reminds me of Pluto. Pluto being the Roman god of the underworld and undead, but also a god of wealth and jewels. I love decidueye but it shouldve been put here :/
decidueye’s name comes from the word deciduous which is the type of plants that lose their leaves in winter

I disagree with Delcatty, it literally has the Normalize ability as a signature ability. It represents the type well.

Like I said in the video, a Pokemon doesn't have to necessarily represent their type to avoid being the worst. (Most normal types are pretty normal and most water types look like water types) A lot of the Pokemon here are present because they simply are the worst Pokemon within their type... in my opinion. (Like Basculin) :)

Personally for fighting I would have gone Chesnaught, a very unrememberable pokemon that does not really have much in way that shouting fighting, at least to me that is.
Lore wise everything is ether it has a good tackle or can withstand stuff well which eh as well as its general design just does not shout shouting at all.

Basculin worst than Finneon in my opinion, Basculin has 2 forms for no reason other than they needed more Pokemon and it plain, doesn't evolve while Finneon is prettier

I don't knowww, basculin is strong. I've had trouble with basculins before in randomizers nuzlockes and stuff. Finneon, honestly is just super weak and lumineon isn't really much better stat wise. But design wise finneon is better

The trio of palkia, dialga and geratina are said to have created the world alongside arceus, geratina is ghost type because he represents gas elements, dialga is solid elements, and palkia is liquids elements
In the early days of pearl when the internet hadn’t quite caught up, I literally could not find the last two mystery pokemon. It wasn’t for months before someone finally found and told me that there was an obscure fish in the very top north-west corner, and it was finneon and lumineon. I caught it, evolved it with an exp share, threw it in a box and literally never looked back. My only experience with the thing. At least I completed the dex

I love your videos, but I have to disagree with Nincada. The idea that a cicada will live underground, fly away and leave it's shell, and how that translates to Ground, Flying and Ghost has always been amazing to me.

I had a lot more love for finneon after new Pokemon snap. Seeing it with other Pokemon, lighting up when it's happy, etc brought more life to it.
I get your point on Granbull and mostly agree, but I find very funny how out of left field its fairy type is, and somehow that makes it work for me.

When I was like 7, I got a Jynx Pokémon card. Its weird/creepy face and cold, dead eyes gave me nightmares. I hated it a lot. So, yeah, it’s my least favorite Pokémon.

As a bug type lover, Nincada is so cute and such a good boi, legit made me sad lol. I also kinda obvious why its ground, its a burrowing insect after all.

Delibird is arguably not the worst Flying type, because at the time, it was a unique and intriguing design-- before we were overloaded with fantastical, *non-pokemon*-like guys. Also, it's the first time I remember an enemy pokemon being able to heal you. Which i liked in the ice caves while training. Yes, I would never add it to my team... so maybe you have a point.
Im probably 11 months late but,
Wormdams pink coloring is based on fiber glass. The kind used for insulation in buildings. It is a very durable material and thus fits the steel type well.
It's not durable, you can rip it with your bare hands. And animals chew through it
@@rezzbuilds8343 Durable only means "able to withstand wear, pressure, or damage; hard-wearing" its doesn't mean indestructible. Fiber glass is durable as it easily withstands wear, pressure, and is actually pretty hard to damage. Fiberglass insulation is made up of the individual fibers woven together, you're not tearing the fibers, you're separating them.

I think Wormadam is Steel type because it has the insulation material in walls, which is often pink or orangey-yellow and looks fluffy. This explains why it has to specifically be in a city to evolve.

For Wormadam, I believe it's supposed to be covered in pink fiberglass, which is commonly used for house insulation. You could somewhat relate them to steel, because house building and all, but the fiberglass itself isn't steel, so I still don't really know why it has the steel type. Maybe it's supposed to be steel wool, but I've never seen it pink so…
I know this is a year old, but none of the comments have talked about this, but the only reason Alolan Muk was given the Dark Type was so it got STAB from Bite and Crunch because it has teeth now. Also because they wanted more first gen pokemon to have Dark, Steel, and Fairy typings outside of Magnemite, Clefary, and Jigglypuff.
Nincada is a ground type because cicadas live 17 years underground before they start flying and shedding their skin.
Trash Cloak Wormadam is wrapped in fiberglass, which is a really tough material that gives the pokemon steel-like qualities.

When I saw Delibird as the flying representative, I was fully expecting for it to also be the ice representative considering it's a better flying representative than it is an ice representative. I was therefore shocked when it was the ice representative when it wasn't the psychic representative.
Vibrava and Flygon also don't look much like dragons, and while Flygon looks cool Vibrava looks slightly less cool.
Pretty sure trash coat wormadam is meant to look like it’s cloaked in insulator, like either asbestos or fiberglass. You know, “forbidden cotton candy.” That’d make sense for a steel type even tho it’s more of a rock thing

To me Basculins are pretty memorable evn though I never used them in my playthroughts. And as such I dont think they should be tied to Finneon (I didnt even remember they existed)
But it has two different variations, red basculins attack head on even if they get hurt in the progress (reckless ablility) while blue ones are more passive agressive (rock head ability)
The two different basculins are also at constant war against each others
With rock types I mightve picked one of the fossil pokemons (maybe Lileep) Like yeah, Probopass would make more sense as pure steel type but it kinda looks like a rock and the I tend to link being magnetic/metallic to magnetic ores, which are mostly stone
entomologist enthusiast here, people have probably said this before, but cicadas (ninjasks) nymph stage (nincada) stay underground for a very long time, and can be up to 3 years underground before emerging. some adult species even continue to be underground and only emerge every once and awhile. also, of course, shedinja is the shell that cicadas are known for leaving behind when they molt

I have a strange emotional attachment to the skitty line as the first pokemon game I've played was alpha sapphire. It was years ago but I still remember the joy of watching a tiny little skitty beating a slaking into a pulp.

Well t-wormadam is based on house insulation which is usually pink and I believe it has glass or metal fibers
From what I know metal is a poor insulator and is never used as building insulation. Pink insulation IS indeed fiberglass (and or wool) but that would translate to the rock type and why would it be called "TRASH"? But yes, pink insulation is usually the explanation for Wormadam.
@@truegreen7 well alolan diglett has natural fiberglass in peles hair as it insparation and is also a steel type. So apparently game freak considers fiberglass a form of metal which falls into the steel type

Sableye is amazing. In my opinion it’s almost a better designed gengar. Same smile, better concept for the eyes, more fluid movement than just bouncing, and same color. Gengar is just more iconic

Delcatty is definitely not the worst normal type. It is a beautiful Pokémon with a great design, color scheme, and amazing movepool, and embodies the concept of the cat’s relaxed nature. It is one of my favorite Pokémon as well. It just shouldn’t be the worst. Like, maybe Slakoth or Dunsparce. I know this is just your opinion, but still.
Oh no Delcatty deserves it. All other normal types are more memorable than Delcatty. Hated it ever since Gen 3 honestly.

You went through least favorite Dragon type and you picked Goomy instead of Alolan Exeggutor. That's just a terrible decision. Alolan Exeggutor is a disgrace to Dragon types.
Sawk was the mvp of my fights against lenora in pokemon black because of sturdy lol. Watchog uses 2x damage retaliate, survive it with 1 hp, and counter and voila!
