Thanks for the drive up the Escarpment! That road is no joke... sharp bends, the narrow stretch near the top and the motorcycles and trucks that occasionally go up and down make it extremely tough to drive.
Lived in that area as a kid... Moss Vale , Bowral , Bundanoon , Wollongong.... went up and down Macquarie Pass 100s of times on my motorbike.... thank you🙏🙏
Wind your windows down as you start the ascent. The air smells great. Lots of wildlife in the bush. Lyrebirds, wombats, lizards, snakes and parrots etc galore.
I’ve been to Kangaroo Valley before in Australia and when my mum was driving she went over either Macquarie Pass or by somewhere that looks exactly looks like Macquarie Pass. Macquarie Pass is so nice I love it.
I've been twice passed the Macquarie Pass in a bus to and from Wollongong and it's easy to understand why there's the tight winding section. The bus had to make two goes of taking the sharper hairpin bends ie. Reverse before continuing. The scenery is spectacular
Ah, now that road I know very well, I was living at my brothers house in Albion Park and had acquired my drivers license, what better way tp hone one's driving skills than driving up and down the pass at least once a week with the added bonus of a delicious pie near Robertson. At 10:31 in the video, but back in 1972 it had a different appearance and I doubt the pies are are home made now. But reliving that drive, I still know every bend!
I also love the Robertson Pie Shop! I usually stop there if I'm passing by. I'm not sure if they're home made now but their steak and kidney pie is legendary, easily the best pies I've ever had and definitely worth the drive!
Great video. I learned to drive on Macquarie Pass. It is indeed a fun road and a great test of skill. I do not believe that you have truly lived until you have driven that road in the fog (but only out of necessity of course).
I don’t know what I love more about your videos. The Australian countryside that I would never get to necessarily or the 80’s soundtrack that you put with it. I’m just curious if you plan on doing ( or maybe you already have ) the Great Pacific Drive down through Narooma and around to Melbourne?
Thanks! I've done the drive before a while go but I didn't have a dashcam to film with back then. I do want to go down that way again when coronavirus restrictions end!
I don't know much about Australia but love watching your videos and listening to your sound tracks. Makes me feel young again. Have you thought of posting a drive to somewhere interesting off the beaten track.
You were lucky getting a clear run up the pass. Everytime I went that way I got caught behind a conga line of cars doing 20km/h inevitably led by a truck or grey nomad trying to haul his van🙄
Actually, where the construction work is at Albion Park, they started building the new road because the current road floods, with every downpour, and that whole road is closed between the roundabout at Albion Park right through to Tongarra road. And then that makes the highway even more congested. I'll be glad when it's complete coz it takes me a good 45mins to make the 5km drive from Albion Park to Tongarra Rd or viseversa on an afternoon. Oh btw, don't ever drive thru Albion park or Albion park rail on a long weekend. That trip will take you a good hour easy
9.45 - Used to be a dairy farm there years ago that moved cows across the road every afternoon. Was known by motorbike riders everywhere as "Cow Shit Corners" lol
I'm sorry to say that I;m not a great fan of your music choice. I just have my own mix playing, music from the 40's till the present day. But to each his own.
For my dad's birthday last year, our family took him to Kembla Grange (he loves the🐎) but we came this way so he wouldn't guess.
What a road!😱

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! And LOVE the music! You’re playing my teenage years!! 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed mate!

Love this video, such a memory maker.
Great music and amazing drive love it 👍
Thanks to your video, I did this so beautiful drive today from Sydney to Goulburn via Macquarie Pass for the first time
Great road trip and music tracks that were well timed.
I used to do Macquarie Pass once a week for work, going from Bowral to Wollongong. It is so beautiful out there.

You have a freaking awesome taste in music and locations. Love what you create! Love 🇦🇺 Lots of ❤️ to music you choose. Thank you 😊 Stay safe.
Thanks for the kind words!

oh goody
3 38 mins Tourist Road dr30 from bottom to top
In 2001
Same with likes
from 13:40, the limit should be 105. Not 100. Too straight
The road is prone to thick fog
But good you have no dislikes

Fair enough! I sometimes do the same when watching others' driving videos so definitely get where you're coming from haha
I would have slowed the video down a tad. It is creating vertigo for me to watch this.
Thanks for the feedback!
