- It's been a long time since I have done any videos on the Hornby Catalogues and Track Plan Booklets as it was 2018 since I did them last and its time to get more model train related content back onto this channel.
Here I am taking a trip to 1988 with a look at the Hornby Railways R160 OO Gauge Track Plans Booklet that has some of the best model train layouts in my opinion from the 1980's. This is the 7th Edition of the Hornby Railways Track Plans. No one else has covered this booklet of these retro layouts although the other train plan booklets have been covered by other people on UA-cam so I thought I would do my bit and contribute this one!
So which layout is your favourite from this lot shown? My favourite is layout 11 from the booklet and someday, I am going to make this once I get the space, time and money together to pull it off!

The track plan books are great, packed with a wealth of layouts 🙂
I completely agree with you mate ☺️.
That is a very cool find, and the nice thing is, still useful today Maybe some tips are dated, but the general ideas and plans will always be valid!
To be honest Anthony, this is one of my favourite track plans booklet from Hornby Railways and all I need to do when I make that dream layout in the future. I only need to beef up the curve track to 3rd and 4th radius to allow the newer models to run without issues :).

Was this edition the one that featured the layout for the zero one control system?
I think it was the one before as this one was issued in 1988 and the 6th Edition was released in 1983 I believe. The one with the blue/grey HST on the front of it.
