Hi 😊 I sold my Distress Oxides some years ago since I didn't use them at all. Now for blending backgrounds I would love to have some again, but since the prices have gone up like rockets, I wanted just a few colors I can get the most out of. I LOVE your video and it is soooo helpful and I am glad the first video I found was yours 😊 Thank you very much ❤ Subscription went out right away.
Lou, another fantastically informative & enormously helpful video... As an absolute beginner with oxides - thank you so much. I am learning SO much from you!
Aw I'm SO pleased that I saw this video...... I got an email from Craftstash today saying 20% off selected Tim Holtz products so it set me up thinking about which colour oxides to order on a limited budget...... I definitely decided on a yellow, green, blue and brown and I had my colours in mind.... This video's reassured me I've made the right choices as with the exception of the blue (I've fallen for Chipped Sapphire and none of my family who I make cards for like paler blues.... Its a football thing!!) all my choices were there :-) it's also good to know I made the right choice with red which I already have which is festive Berries) Thanks so much for this as it honestly has helped put my mind at rest knowing I'm on the right lines :-) (Might even treat myself to a cheeky orange as well for 'rust') x
This is another brilliant, informative video Lou. Wish this had been available 2 years ago when I 1st started my cardmaking journey. The colours I have, I've bought because I've seen them used in tutorials. Not really thinking about blending or colour combinations. Thanks so much 😊
Wish I had seen this before I started buying distressed product. Would have made a difference in my choices. Thanks so much for sharing. I will be more cautious now when shopping for new colours. ❤️🇨🇦
Great to have this to refer Oxide newbies to! When the first release came out, wonderful color combos were possible with those 12 colors. Pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet plus neutrals were in Set #1, though your red is pinker and other choices are spot on. Just putting a plug in for the oldies but goodies and my first true love, Worn Lipstick. P.S. Vote for Lou for Oxide Scientist
Color swatch chart is still coming in clutch for me daily I am now collecting the sprays as well and am going to make a swatch guide of those. I laminated the square mask used to cleanly fill each swatch space so i can wipe after each use no problem Thanks again firnsuch a great chart !
I love my oxides. Thought I had all I needed, and because of your wonderful channel I just ordered Uncharted Mariner. Will need a bigger box now, and that means I have more room for more! Thanks for your lovely series on these inks and oxides.
Thanks for this. I have a good number of oxides but by no means the entire set. As I'm expanding my collection, I'm having trouble deciding on the next one to purchase and now I have a better idea of which ones I should go for first. I'm looking forward to the next video in the "series." Don't be too quick though, I need time to budget my shopping!
Really helpful Lou thank you. As I see them used in cards I want to make, I buy those. Interesting that Ive only got one of the colours you recomend Vintage Photo, one of the very first ones I brought 😊🥰
such an informative video, thanx so much. I sold all my oxides and kept my inks, now Im not sure if I should get a few oxides. Would one get a nice colour blend with inks and oxides together? or is it best to use oxides and inks seperately for blends? Trying to figure out if I sould keep building my ink collection or add oxides in some of the colours. thanx
Hi Lou, thank you so much for all of your hard work making these videos!! I try to put all of my oxides in an order from light to dark within the same families. I do struggle to see the difference and I was wondering if your printouts are in this type of order. Could you let me know? I Love learning from you!! Just found you about a month ago. Blessings to you🌸
Love the topic and how you presented the various colors. Thank you
I'm limiting myself to 60, 4 of the tins to hold these. I have 6 spots left. I'm going to take advantage of SSS 20% off sale in June.
Whoa! That’s a lot! I’m very new to this but I have probably 30. They’re addictive. ❤🇦🇺

“Will need a bigger box now, and that means… more room for more” wins the Internet for logic! 🏆 😅
Very helpful, thank you 😊
Very interesting thank you I have nearly all those colours it’s good to no how to blend them

So other than the primary colours, what would you add as add ons such as a pink, yellow green, blue green, purple.
Yes, I would add those next and an orange and grey x
Pink - kitsch flamingo
Yellow Green - Twisted Citron
Turquoise- Salvaged Patina / Peacock Feathers
Purple - Wilted Violet
Orange - carved Pumpkin
Grey - Hickory Smoke
Wonderful resource. I’m saving this one for reference. I keep wondering when Tim will release last color🤷♀️🤔
@@joycehuff9769 Eagerly awaiting here too!!
Thank you so much for putting your time into this. I personally really appreciate it!😊
can this ink be used on glass
No, you would need a solvent ink for that
Where is the link below
