IKEA for the first time AFTER lockdown! What's it like?!

Happy Wednesday, yesterday and the day before I visited Ikea in Exeter for the FIRST TIME since it reopened post lockdown. I thought I'd share my experience so you can see what to expect if you fancy taking a trip!

Just spontaneously popped in for some frames and I turn around and you’re there browsing the plants, I had to look twice because I wasn’t expecting it🤣 glad you had a good experience, so weird to hear Exeter mentioned in a vlog! Xx

Im glad everything is getting back to normal! Here in Spain, we all have to wear masks and use hand sanitizer before we enter any shops. Luckly next week we are allowed to move around the country, so im finally going back home to see my parents! Take care 💕
Thank you Emily for being aware of the vulnerable that can’t go out, that was really sweet of you to mention. I’m on steroids & chemotherapy & have just been told after completing 12 weeks shielding that I have to do it for another 12 weeks so no going out for 6 months!!! I am enjoying watching people’s vlogs out & about as I can’t see what’s it is like myself so please keep on filming x
May God bless you with faith, strength, and courage in these next 6 months. You are already a victorious person. You will be in my prayers.

I literally can’t believe you were in Exeter! My home town where I live, I would have loved a social distance photo aha xx
I live in Wales and nothing is open at the moment. Even if things were open I'd be still so nervous :( it looks so much fun watching people go shopping on UA-cam though! Stay safe xxx
I went yesterday to get some alex drawers for my makeup because mine are overflowing, and it pissed me off so much! People were just walking around aimlessly and brushing past and just not keeping 2meters.
Loved watching this vlog Emily ❤️ I don’t go out much as am disabled but watching this vlog has made me happy to see some sort of normal in this crazy world at the moment 🌍 xxxx

Gloves is a big no no! If anything they spread germs around more! That’s what the cdc is telling us in Canada! Love you em❤️

What is the situation with the house you’re staying in now? Is it yours or James’s? Did you move out of the flat also? Randomly living through Emily’s vlog because the only walls I’ve seen outside of my house are the walls of the children’s hospital where I work... 😅 (can’t wait for my next IKEA trip when I move into my own place in October!)
I am counting down the days until Ikea and TK Maxx open back up in Scotland! 😭 loved this, thank you! Gave me a good indication of when to go when it does open! Also (maybe slightly random) I would personally love to hear you and James talk about your age difference and how it affects or doesn’t affect your relationship (only if you where comfortable to of course!). There is a 15 year difference between my partner an I - I’m 26 and he’s 41 and I don’t find there’s a lot of relatable content out there on this, when it’s actually very common! 😊xx

yay a vlog hope you and your family are doing well, haven't been to IKEA. before but I think there come to NZ so if so might have to check it out
I went at 8:15pm no queue to go in but the queue to pay was long and as I was trying to pick up my furniture someone stood almost on top of me it was a horrible experience. They had to move out my way so I could actually get my trolley closer to the box so 😫

Our state really didn’t do a shut down like some of the other states we were supposed to be doing social distancing but it didn’t really happen our store got more people in since most companies did lay off there workers but I am an essential worker so we had to work . So shopping for us doesn’t seem strange like it was for you guys.

Only in places where social distancing is impossible, like public transport

Weeks ago, in my small town, I saw a couple in their car wearing gloves and masks with the windows closed driving by the town and in my residency area has 37.000 thousand people and we only had 23 cases confirmed xD
Comparing the amount of population of the UK to Portugal you have kinda the same percentage of confirmed cases as in Portugal.
In the UK the amount of deaths is 40x more than in Portugal.
In your video and in the video of other UK youtubers I don't see people wearing mask and in Portugal we wear masks every where we go, any store, bank, whatever, if we don't have a mask, even only being allowed 2 people in a small store, we can't enter the store, we can't be at the shopping center without a mask.
@@dominikamihokova784 in the very south of Portugal, Algarve, we were okay, but then the other day someone decided to make a party in a rented tiny football team association and a lot of people went there and the cases just went up. I heard that the beaches are full. I may not work this summer but for sure I rather be bored AF at home that drive to a beach full of people.
Weeks ago I got out off home to go to the supermarket - that is inside of the shopping center - and I tried to be away from some people, I was there right next to one of the sides of the shelves corredor and another guy could have passed next to the other side, no, he passed ''sticked'' to me and the mask was not covering the nose.
Or some other people with the mask on the chin and the supermarket was full and I'm like (thought about it and still do): ''I have my allergies, some times I have small arrhythmia episodes and have some difficulties to breath because of both of those problems and my mask is stick to my mouth and nose, so what's your excuse?''
@@dominikamihokova784 and some caring actions that we have like being carefull when sneezing, personal distancing, washing the hands more often, etc, we should be doing all of these even before and I don't want to feel other people's arm pit horse smell
Yeah! Even in India, they have signs put up on every shop that you can't enter unless you wear a mask. Such a shame that she's sharing the message of not wearing a mask on this big of a platform!😐😑

@@EmilyCanhamVlogs I say yes, just once to experience it. It's either a love/hate, although I don't know anyone who hates it. It is like a garden center, farm shop, and old school/local "IKEA" in one. There is also a chippy, butchers, and aviary (with peacocks roaming the car park). It's hard to explain, but I think you should go! The one near Falmouth is tiny, so definitely go to the Liskeard one. I suggest going Monday-Thursday.

Are you in the position to be able to fully move in, and leave your London flat? You seem very at home and relaxed there and have put your personality into the decor 🙂 or is it just going to be a lockdown thing and you’ll move back when everything has returned to some kind of ‘normality’?
My local IKEA is Nottingham and there was a 3 hour queue there on the first day 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
