DIETS DON'T WORK. PLANS DO!
I started doing this a few months ago. Crazy what a difference it makes. And the fruit stays fresh up to a week!
I was also shocked at how much longer the fresh fruit lasted as well!!
A week? Use Mason jar. Make sure they are dry. They last for a MONTH
@@HxC_Fragmanright. I’m surprised they are impressed by « a week » 😳
It works. But mine tasted like baking soda lol. Gotta rinse it better.
@@yowhat-mo6xo you have to rinse again in cold water after you drain the first time haha
I believe it’s not doing what you’re thinking. The purpose of using the vinegar is because of the acidity, and the purpose of using the baking soda is because of the alkalinity, both of which sanitize in their own way. When you use both the acidity and alkalinity are both brought to a neutral state. I’m sure there is some cleaning going on, but it would be much more powerful to use them individually..
Actually it depends i would yhink but yes you are correct thats basic PH chemistry.
@@Chris-dr8teit doesn’t depend lol pesticides are chemistry
@@lemondrop7305 So wash with both baking soda and with acv but not at the same time? Im confused
@@lemondrop7305 Everything is a chemical :P and I should have stated perhaps more clearly that it's basic chemistry that alkaline substances cancel or neutralize acidic substance.. thus using them together renders them useless unless trying to take advantage of a specific property to make up for it working better together, it depends.. baking soda is abrasive and vinegar also can help remove thick hard to remove substance when you combine it makes for more powerful abrasive but you lose the cleaning properties or antimicrobial features. Thanks for commenting! :)
@@jorgegarcia3358yes. Make is basic then make it acidic or visa versa. But adding a base and an acid neutralizes it making them both ineffective.
U can mix both but at diff times. Soak with vinegar first after soaking add the baking soda. Vinegar to santize baking to wash off.
Just tried it and it doesnt taste like vinegar
This is good news, lol trying it now
Apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
@@tylerda_coolestright
white vinegar @@tylerda_coolest
I'm glad for that! Absolutely understatement.
Trying it now for my strawberries. Thank you for sharing 😊
Just started doing this, this morning! :) Thanks for the video
I use white vinegar and water. Let the berries soak for no more than 7-8 minutes, rinse well with plain water and let dry on towel. The strawberries last for weeks and taste so fresh and flavorful.I think using the glass container for storage is a great idea. I've been rinsing out the container they come in and reusing . Hey I'm just happy to have such clean and fresh strawberries! Also... raspberries only soak for 4 minutes or else too mushy like the strawberries.
Thanks for sharing
I also do the exact same thing as you with mine too
Vinegar and baking soda cancel each other out. Use one or the other
You use the vinegar first to do its job and wait a couple of minutes before adding the baking soda to neutralize it. The baking soda and vinegar fizziness also helps scrub dirt and stuff off kinda like an exfoliation before it dissolves!
can we use just water 💦? 🤔

@@angelsaidferreira5193no there are bugs in strawberries
Straight to the point,thanks 👍🏾
Works like a charm. Just did this for fruits for a party. The fruit tasted great.
So glad!!
I just did this without using the vinegar on some grapes. It was shocking that the fruit actually tasted very CLEAN😮😂
I did a decent workout at the gym today. It was a good accomplishment especially during the start of the work week.
Thanks for sharing!! I would like to share the most effective way to store your fruit after you do this cleaning. Store your fruit in mason jars in the refrigerator. Fresh fruit will last longer without molding and going bad when stored in mason or canning jars. ❤
great video and comments

Amazing!!! Now I can eat Strawberrys 🍓 Because I now know how to get the bugs out of them strawberries. Thank you for this informational video!! Helps out a Lot 💯👏😊👍
It’s my first time trying this today on my cherries, strawberries and blueberries. I can’t wait to see how it goes!
What is even better is storing your vegetables and fruit in glass containers, I also put water im them and they last longer.
Vitamin C is water soluble. You lose nutrients when storing veg/fruits in water over long periods of time. Ok to soak for 5 minutes.
@nicolascastaneda1 sometimes.
It works on avocados
@SarahluvsPkxd.squishy strawberries are the sweetest and the best.
@@0deszuh111my favorite tiktok tip! sometimes it gets soggy tho lol
Check the ph levels… they’re not supposed to be used together. Right?
Im wondering the same thing
Replace the vinegar with lemon juice. You'll get the same bubbling effect
What’s wrong with the vinegar?
@@liyahb5567 not for human consumption
@@liyahb5567 u could also use apple cider vinegar. That is edible
Cucumbers are Pickled in vinegar. Cheaper than lemons. Just rinse vinegar and baking soda solution with water. Or soak in salt water. Then rinse salt water away.
@@RebornVisions_ ACV pricey. Use regular vinegar
I'm so excited to try this!
Hope you like it!
Do not use plastic, a glass container works way better
And ditch the paper towel for a cloth dish towel.

Correction: the V and BS combine to make sodium acetate which is a really strong cleaning chemical almost like a food grade version of drain cleaner (except drain cleaner will burn your hands and sodium acetate only burns on high concentrations like super saturated liquid solution high
Sodium acetate is the chemical compound repsonsible for most effective cleaning here, thanks for that information that helps.
Great video
Thank you from Wynwood Miami 🎃🎃🎃🎃❤🎃🎃
Don’t use both !! Use either vinegar or baking soda . If you use both together they cancel each other out .
no way lol great tip if true
Correct. They counteract each other. Chemistry ☺️ still I appreciate her video.
Which one is better?

Happy to help
thanks for the breakdown. Might I add, for anyone who is truly trying to avoid all harmful chemicals. Do not store any fruits or vegetables in plastic containers as they do leech harmful microplastics. And these are indocrine disruptors and can harm your hormonal health.
Plastic containers it depends which ones u get not all of em cause that shi 😂
we already are full of microplastics and forever chemicals. they are creating chemicals on organic fruits and veggies that can't be washed off. We're seriously screwed lol

Micro plastics aren't real
The baking soda and vinegar together cancel each other out?
I heard that same thing 🤔
No it doesn’t. It’s an acid and a base so they react with one another and ultimately Hydrogen ions from the vinegar match with OH- ions from the baking soda and forms the bubbles
They do. You have to use one or the other
Yes. Acid (vinegar) + base (baking soda) will neutralize each other.
@@melaninmonroe007the bubbles form because in that moment they are creating carbonic acid, which is the only time this mixture is effective. After that, it does nothing else for you
I always thought fruits should only be washed when you are about to eat them. Thoughts?
Can you just add vinegar and that’s it? What’s the purpose for baking soda?
Would just putting them in the freezer for a few kill the bugs?
Thanks. I just did it
Vinegar and baking soda neutralize each other high and low ph. Use one or the other baking soda will clean the pesticide but it’s not a disinfectant. Rinse after using vinegar with cold water
Facts ! This how I do it
geniunely curious, won't it mold if you wash it and store? i've always been told to wash before use.
Don’t store them damp, wipe them with a clean cloth or paper towel before storing it in the fridge
Folks, please use one or the other Not Both.
Mix vinegar with baking soda?
Isn't that like mixing hot water with ice?
Love this thank you
You are so welcome!
Does it also work to kill e-coli bacteria and listeria bacteria from slugs?
Only clean berries and grapes when you are ready to eat them or they shribble go bad faster.
I’ve found that when I wash my fruit they don’t last long. Plus eating them fresh out the package won’t kill you
Should this method be done on any fruit and vegetable?
I don't use baking soda but I will now
Baking soda .not vinegar. Will have a reaction wiv chemicals. Check it out.
Doesn’t the baking soda and vinegar cancel each other out?
I thought vinegar & baking soda cancel out one another ?
Same
they do. but the foaming reaction helps clean and they don’t cancel out immediately or completely so the vinegar and baking soda both get a chance to work on the fruit.
@@minakiel2930 I wondered if I should wait a bit to add the baking soda...
They don't cancel eachother out in the sense of a buffer solution. Sodium hydrogencarbonate is not a conjugate base of the ethanoic acid.
@@ok-hd4ir an acid and a base will still neutralise the ph though
White vinegar?
Apple cider vinegar only need a couple of tablespoons let sit for about 10mins, rinse. Same results
Can you substitute the vinegar?
Doesn’t the vinegar neutralize the baking soda? Acid vs base chemistry
Baking soda is going to neutralize any acids including the vinegar.
Can I do with hot water??
do you do this to onions after cutting ?
I wash mine with dawn dish w
any vinegar will do?
Do you use white vinegar or apple cider vinegar?
Isn't the vinegar taste going to stay in the fruit? Its very strong.
use apple cider vinegar
No it doesn't. I do the same with vegetables.
Yeah it does… this lady didnt wash her fruits after this process!! You need to wash em for a good 3-5 minutes and you dont need to dry em off at all
Vinegar is unnecessary, it's also not for human consumption
@@1990taskmaster that’s why you rinse the fruits off lol.
what kind of vinegar?
Can I use apple cider vinegar?
White vinegar or apple cider vinegar?
What type of vinegar? Also, Does it matter if we use baking soda or baking powder?
I think she used white vinegar. Do not substitute the baking soda. Btw, from the other comments do not use vinegar and baking soda together. Use one or the other. Hope this helps.
I thought it would taste like vinegar but it didnt it actually tasted really good
Agreed!!
This is terrible advice. The baking soda and vinegar neutralize each other, and "pat drying" with paper towels is not enough to dry it properly, encouraging more bacteria!!! 🦠 Use a salad spinner for God's sake 🙄
Why use baking soda? Wouldn't it neautralize the vinegar? The purpose of the vinegar is to destroy any bacteria, fungus and organisms that lives in or on the fruits. I'm genuinely curios.
Wait, doesn’t the baking soda just neutralize the vinegar? Why not rinse with just baking soda?
Water is just fine
Can U Substitute Baking Soda
Apple cider vinegar or white vinegar??? With lemon?? Can i clean meats like this too chicken, beef?? Good for produce?
Baking soda will tenderize your meat..Chinese kitchen hack. Research it, rinse meat well so it doesn’t taste like baking soda. May change the flavor of your meat.
I try to soak rinse them as long as I can, but the strawberries start to get mushy!
I noticed that too.
The vinegar and baking soda cancel each other out. Use only baking soda.
Soak them for 15 minutes, they did a study that 5 minutes was not enough time.
Yep, and even with 15 minutes it was a certain percentage of pesticide and lord knows what else that was still left on the fruit. You're not supposed to use vinegar and baking soda together, either. This video needs to be taken down.
Hi can I use this on my baby’s fruit too
Yes 👍
Can you do this with herbs?
Apple cider vinegar or regular vinegar?
How do we know te water is absolutely clean?

What kind of baking soda? Why does the binnhave to be clear?
Arm & hammer baking soda … and use clear glass containers if you can
Is baking soda safe to consume?
yes its called “baking” soda for a reason people use it to bake cakes and stuff
The onlything the vinegar neutralizes, is the baking soda..
My baking soda doesn’t fizz is that not a good sign?
It’s because she added baking soda and vinegar
Try pure vinegar, the add your soda. If it doesn't fizz then, maybe your baking soda is old/got stale? 🤔🤷
It could be old as well.
I used baking soda and cleaning vinegar on my floor with a dash of dawn liquid dish soap. Don’t use cleaning vinegar on your fruit.
I want to eat mandarin but don't know should I do the same?
So add acidic vinegar to fruit that has "acidic" pesticides and then add baking soda which will neutralize acid. Ok.
You are mixing Baking soda and vinegar?😮
2 products that cancel each other out hence the bubbles? Not very wise to do
Never use vinegar and baking soda. It cancels the effect just as you said baking soda neutralises the acidities so putting vinegar wich is really acidic isnt doing anything at all
Letting fruits soak in water will cause nutrients to leak out of them though.
I don't understand a sense of it. Viniger and soda are on opposite scale of ph. It is neutralising process. How could that help cleaning? Only one of these at a time...I understand, but together?
I find when I do this it spoils faster
Salt😮
Yoy dont wana deprive your guts from all bugs, this is what strengthens our immune system!
Some bugs are good for us & fruit only needs rinsing with water to get rid of any chemical spray residue
I think the main thing that happened is that the baking soda neutralized the vinegar. If you were to wash them with vinegar, rinse, and then wash with baking soda, I think that would be more effective.
The baking soda made the vinegar obsolete. Just use vinegar.
Salt is good if you can't afford baking soda and vinegar
Adding baking soda to vinegar neutralizes the acid and makes it pointless to add vinegar. Might as well just use water.
The vinegar and baking soda cancel each other out. Just use one of the other.
All up in there 😂
Like apple cider vinegar??
Correct
You shouldn't use vinegar and. baking soda together it creates a chemical reaction. The FDA , US Department Agricultural and other Scientists recommend using baking soda and water to remove material from fruit and vegetables.
