Medical kidnapping is a thing. There's a really big case right now of one that led to self unaliving. A documentary called Take Care of Maya.

I know there are a lot of self deluded patients, but we lose a lot to self deluded.medical professionals too. My aunt died of cancer because her GP decided nothing she said was real. Anytime I bring it up, half a dozen of similar stories are shared. If my experiences on YT are anything to go off of, I suspect there is 5 of these for every case of Munchausen's.

That Lupus story hit home. My aunt's doc kept calling her a wimp and saying there was nothing wrong with her. She was a horse rider, a farmer's daughter, and a leather worker. No way she was a wimp.
We lost her to cancer that had spread throughout her body that anyone with a medical degree should easily have seen. Even feet doctors and veternarians should have discovered the cancer in her guts.

That would classify as gross medical malpractices in most jurisdictions in the US and would lead to a revoked medical license and hefty payout

@@ziattic1730 Unfortunately, I never met the guy. I don't even know where my uncle lives anymore, so I can't find out. The guy moved out of the state. They lived on the same property for some 30 years, and it was too much to bear.

Not me but a sibling on a coaster with 2 friends. It was a looping coaster where your feet dangled & you have an overhead harness that locked into your seat. Friend 1 was in the middle & her harness popped up mid-ride. Sister & friend 2 both slammed it back in place at the same time without taking time to think. After they got off they realized what just happened. No fear of coasters after but idk if i could ride one like that again.

I hope the friend of the green herb guy fought that. A traffic infraction should only be a ticket. Nothing in that should give them need to search the car. Even if the guy agreed to the car search, a car search is not permission to search the body of the driver

The story w the 18 yo OP who's friends got busted with drugs: I never understood how you can be punished just by associating with somoene who broke the law when you had no idea it was happening. Like they have no right to punish you. It was just wrong place wrong time.

My dad was doing his rounds as a foreman at an abattoir with another foreman. He opened a door and let the other foreman go first. A 10 ton vat of fat broke off its chain and killed him instantly.
My dad said that he was there one second and suddenly there was a vat of fat where he was standing.

Poor guy. I hope he got therapy. That can screw with the mind and soul.

@LegendStormcrow unfortunately back then, someone would be killed every month, so it just becomes part of life.

I was also at the Tacoma Mall during that shooting. I worked at one of the seasonal kiosks in the middle of the mall. I had that day off, but thought I'd go to the food court to write (NaNoWriMo).
I had just opened the door to the mall when I heard a series of bangs. I didn't know they were gun shots at the time. I thought someone had knocked down one of those seasonal kiosks (some of them aren't very sturdy).
Then i saw the people running for the doors. You know how in movies everything seems to go in slow motion for a moment? Well, that's a thing that actually happens. For a moment those people running were in slow motion - jowls jiggling to expression changes, all glacially slow. Then suddenly everything was in normal time.
I got away from the doors and went behind a pillar. I wasn't thinking about that at the time, but there's a lot of sitting duck space between the building sidewalk and the parked cars.
From the pillar I got to see police cars from multiple localities try their damndest to surround an indoor mall.
I had the opening shift the next day. It was the only time I've been ID'd going into the mall. The quiet and emptiness was surreal.

I was 15 at a friends house party. I met this really cute guy. I was a virgin at the time amd was thinking it was time. The guy was hinting at ‘doing it’ after a few more moments of conversation I thought eff it and started to lean in to kiss him and get things rolling when a friend interrupted and asked me for a cigarette. He got up to get a beer. He disappeared onto the crowd and I didn’t see him again. Oh well no biggie. I found out a year later that he had slept with another girl and knocked her up
    Yikes

I got into so many accidents as a kid it's a miracle I survived to adulthood with the worst thing that ever happened being needing knee surgery from a football accident.

Simply moving the gun to a different location. I was in psychosis and the only “help” given to me made it worse. They all knew that and they didn’t care. They wanted a quick fix. Even if it hurt me and caused permanent damage. If they never moved that gun I’d definitely do something I could never take back…
