I have heard all sorts from "what do you mean I can't burn down the house, google said it was okay as long as it was on my property", "no its still a crime because it spread to 8 homes that you don't own"
"Yeah well your an idiot, (insert ai name here) told me i dont have to pay taxes on my own land". Ai and sovereign citizens are just the worst

There is one way where you can not file taxes for ages and have no consequences come back to bite you; Lots of businesses here in the US have what's called a tax withholding where a portion of your income gets paid as taxes automatically on your behalf. If someone had an adequate withholding (with or without their knowledge), they could be spending more in taxes than the IRS thinks they need to, in which case the government will hold on to the overage which they send back to you when you file your taxes as your tax return. There's a decent chance that the only thing he's risking by not having filed his taxes for so long is the government having more of his money they're not entitled to than he thinks they do.
They have a pretty good idea of how much money you make and if you owe anything.
14:58 As a non US citizen, I would like to remind you that most spanish speaking countries don't have the concept of a maiden name. Marital status doesn't affect your name in any way, so if the person was from that cultural background it's very understandable. I only know what they mean by maiden name because of all the law and order: svu that I watch
