There's a lot of evidence that suggests that N could be a Zoroark and a lot of evidence that suggests otherwise. Personally, I believe that N isn't a Zoroark but rather descended from royalty. I saw a theory before about the Abyssal Ruins and how texts within it say that it's King could "speak to all beings." The King's name, which is blanked out, has the same number of characters as "Harmonia." (I know Ghetsis gave his name to N but it could also be possible that N is a distant relative of some sort). Then, after reaching the innermost chamber of the Abyssal Ruins, Zinzolin states: "What?! You made it even further, you say? And what kind of ciphers were there? … … Ahem… Oh, yes, now I see. There are some characters I can't recognize, but based on the context… An extremely wonderful king was laid to rest in those ruins. If that king has descendants, maybe those special powers were passed down…" This could be the game's way of hinting to the player that N's is descended from that king, which is why they share the ability to "speak to all beings."
That also could maybe give an explanation about the abandon of N in the forest, indirectly. I mean maybe just something had happened to his royal parents. But also how dope would it be if a zorua-zoroark descendance has been ruling on Unova just because they have those unique abilities to be fitting to create armony and conjunction between pokemons and humans. That'd be a little to much of an abstration though haha
Actually Zoroarks can still talk as humans. I don't remember the route but there was a hicker or backpacker who gave you a TM. He talked about Zoroark's ability to disguise itself. And when he was walking away he transformed back into a Zoroark. Pretty sure he didn't have the cube thing on him.
Let's not forget the fact that, if Ghetsis came around claiming to be his father, and a Zorua/Zoroark can create illusions however they please, then it's not unreasonable to assume that N changed his appearance in accordance to Ghetsis, hair color and all, to fit in with his "family" I always found it weird why N and Ghetsis had the same hair colors but this explains why

Love this theory so much. I wish GF kept the animation sparkles for N’s Pokémon in the gens afterward, I always thought it was cool. I have kept N’s Zoroark since the day it was given to me in BW and have brought it with me through all the gens since. It’s with me in Shield now so it would have been cool to see it sparkle the same way it did 10 years ago.
I heard somewhere that when kitsune are disguised as humans, they sometimes speak strangely and can have either a really slow or fast pace when they talk. If zoroark is based off of a kitsune, and N's text speed is always faster... 🤔
You know, there is another point to help You in this; Thanks to the BW opening we knew Ghetis found N in the forest WEARING CLOTHES, this is important cause Pokémon would never taught him how to dress. For example, Koko was raised by Zarude and obviously only wears a loincloth. why Zarude never taught him to use other clothes? Or why N knew about dressing and where did he got those clothes?
Maybe when he was abandoned? And he just kept the clothes on, it’s not that hard. Because we don’t know when N was abandoned and for how long he spent time in the forest.
Another thing I noticed when getting a Zoroark recently is that both N and Zoroark have similar eyes. N’s eyes are the only type, as far as I know, to not have some sort of shine to them, just like Zoroark’s.
In Pokemon Masters EX, N is notably taller when compared to Hilbert, once he’s introduced. I believe that can also be evidence as to him being a Zoroark. Nevertheless, it’s sweet.
This is an interesting theory 🧐 it kind of makes sense, especially in BW2 where the Zoruark was having the trainer follow, but when the trainer steps into N’s castle, N appeared in front where the Zoruark should have been, assuming it was waiting for the trainer. Where N was standing should have been where Zoruark should be standing, assuming the theory is well-supported.
I really enjoyed this video, I got to think of things that I originally overlooked when playing the Unova games. Honestly, I was skeptical but the theories make a lot of sense. When Ghetsis found N in the forest and took him in, he surrounded N with Pokémon that had been abused or abandoned to make an impression on N that Pokémon were unhappy. N was pretty young and vulnerable to being manipulated by Ghetsis as most young children look up to trusted adults. In the Zoroark movie, Zorua is shown to have childish and mischievous attributes, showing it as a child with Zoroark as its mother. That also gets me thinking about how N mainly uses Zoroark last or later on in his party in Black and White. That could strengthen the theory that after all his other Pokémon fainted, he ended up battling the player as Zoroark as a final line of defense for his plans. Anyway, that’s just my thoughts on the topic and I really enjoyed the video
I'd like to add: in the anime, the circumstances in wich N separates from ash and company is rather.... Misterious. They are in a wierd forest paradise, and after a team plasma attack, wich entered the place via a portal of sorts, the protagonists find themselves in a total different location. Could have that place been one of Zoroark illusions all along?
I don't think it's true because when you meet him in victory road in BW2 with zoroark in your team (the zorua given by the sage in Driftveil city, evolved) he'll say: "What's this? Why, you're the… You're the Zoroark that helped me that time, aren't you? Hey, thanks!". Adding to that, in the final battle in pokemon BW, he'll send a zoroark as his last pokemon.
No, he will say this : "What's this? Why, you're the… You're the that helped me that time, aren't you? Hey, thanks!" It never implie that he would always say Zoroark, he implie that no matter the Pokemon you are choosing from his old team that you've catched, he will mention that specific Pokemon. He will say Zoroark because you evolved it but this isn't the same Zoroark that he got on his team, he remember it as a Zorua even if you evolved it.

Well in bulbapedia, under trivia for N, according to Junichi Masuda, N is rumored to have been born from pokemon, so yeah, N is most probably Zoroark. But we won't know for sure.
So there is two to three big things in this theory and I knoooooow I am late on it.. but.. I have to say my piece on this one.. The two things that I think makes this theory fall apart is N's relationship to Reshiram/Zekrom and the fact that Zoroark is much like Darkrai in implementation, it's known about but not really seen correct? However if N was found with a Zorua by his side? Then this means that he'd know where to find them, you cannot catch them because of illusions, but he can talk to them. It's a bit of proof that his bond to them is so strong that a few supported him and then vanished off once they were done. That memory link? That Zoroark could have been with N when that conversation happened, he could remember what he heard N say and triggered that link since if a pokemon can speak like a human in a transformed state, then they can speak period. This is proof by Latias if we want to bring up movies and the show, Latias couldn't speak english. If you take away the gameplay mechanic of being unable to catch Zoroark in the wild, you get to the real thing in that N could find them, he has always known them. This brings me to the Legendaries.. There's the fact that they wouldn't recognize N as a "Hero" Were he just a pokemon, whats more the shock of having lost and the power exerted when the opposite shows up in the final battle at the League I feel would have shut down the illusion as there's no reason to think they can keep the illusion up forever.. I feel like that link wouldn't have been established to awaken them in the first place were N a Zoroark or Zorua. Let's add to this, each Zoroark has shown it has a limited time or capacity to keep the illusions up, I don't think N could have stayed in a human state as a Zorua or Zoroark were he watched 24/7 and raised by humans. The hiker couldn't keep his form after talking to you, the woman in the trailer amd even the area is only changed once you get passed those initial wall of tree's and into the clearing. the child being read a book? The way the game interprets it is that the kid was there a short time and then she comes up to read. the event then takes place. it stays forever for you to take part in the event but it's not necessarily a time thing.. Imagine if it went away after a bit of time? you'd never know it were there but if you take it as a story over gameplay mechanic.. it makes more sense that the kid was there, she came over to read a book and you came by with the Zorua's friend shortly after. N's hairstyle.. could have been what he chose to keep it as since he was friends with Zorua. It goes in line that he'd know Zorua and Zoroark's where ever they are and the games prove throughout Bw and BW2, that there are more than one set of them. I believe you brought up very valuable points, did very good research, hell I didn't even know about the ruins and the memory links until this video was pointed to by your new video. however I believe those few points.. Even the Zoroark that vanished after leading you to the castle? N's response could be because he asked it to bring you there, he doesn't have to recognize the pokemon to have done this nor would he, he isn't that kind of person to say he asked for you to be brought because it's a matter of you coming to the area and Zoroark shoving away anyone who wasn't you. Only moving to allow you to pass and acknowledge it's job is done. It's food for thought and also a good discussion piece. It's an interesting theory but I don't think this one is meant to be that linked to the Sinnoh stories. However I do believe they wanted to hint to something but we may not have seen even now.
I wonder if the Zoroark in bw when you have the shiny legendary dogs, would be N's mother that abandoned him. If the theory of N being a Zorua/Zoroark is true that is.
N definitely has a Zoroark of his own, in the battle where he sends it out it cant be himself because you knock it out. Also if you lure it out with something like dragon tail and then knock it out first it doesn't make sense for N to keep sending Pokemon out. Also the Zoroarks memory link could be it inside one of N's Pokeballs.

I always wondered why although we know that Ghetsis is not N's real father they both have the same hair color. Could it be because being able to transform, N decided to have the same hair color as Ghetsis, who claims to be his father?
I honestly don’t like this theory. Mainly because the first person that brought it to my attention had never played a Gen 5 game, barely knew who N was, and claimed that at no point in time did N ever have a Zoroark on his team, even going as far as claiming that N and a Zoroark are never seen together. Yeah that person was kinda dumb. So I’m not saying the theory is bad. I just didn’t have a good introduction to it.
That's kinda why I didn't take it seriously for so long. This video presented a lot of information that I either missed or flew over my head, which makes the theory a lot more convincing.

I don't think N is a Zoroark "Most of the time," he could still be a Zoroark in some moments. The thing is, if N is truly a Pokémon, who the hell is the original N? A Zoroark has to copy something or at least a part of it to become a disguise.
I always thought that N actually died and Zorua tooks his place. That would explain why everyone speaks of him in past sentence and always referred to him as a child

I do search about this before and nobody solve this. Thanks Mixeli for solving this mystery. All the evidence were accurate and make sense. Here's the best evidence for me. 1. Nobody in Unova own Zorua/Zoroark except N himself. 2. Both have same hairtyle 3. N is the only one who can speak with Pokémon. 4. Don't you feel weird why his name is only N? It's clearly a Pokémon since every Pokémon only speak any random word so that Zorua/Zoroark might speak something sounds like "N" so that's how he got that name for his human form.

I won’t say that this theory is incorrect, but you know that pokemon have been known to hear outside of their pokeballs as seen in BW. N could just have his zoruark on him at all times. Interesting, thanks for the video. I am skeptical because of the reasoning. To prove something, it is essential to study all the elements that can invalidate the theory. A strong theory or argument is something that can resist of the contradictions, when it's hard or impossible to find an invalidating example. Looking for all the elements that can confirm a theory is very more intuitive for people, but our brain works in such a way that we will always find what we want to see.
The whole idea presented in platinum of pokemon and humans being connected, in relationships, of there not really being differences. That kind of explains why people in this series are so resilient. Why there are so many psychic people. People able to withstand pokemon attacks and are able to bond so easily with devices to help. Why they're so easily able to communicate with one another.
Man, I have not thought about black and white, nor black2 and white 2. Then hearing N's them again made me tear up, great theory with some solid points. I honestly always thought of N to be pokemon adjacent because of team rocket's meowth, but him being an intelligent Zoroark makes a whole lot of sense
And maybe at first that's why N went along with Ghetsis's plan to liberate Pokemon. He wanted Pokemon to live in peace, and being free from "cruel" humans was the key to achieving that dream of his. That started to change as he begins to see clearly how Ghetsis is versus how people, like your character and their friends, treats their pokemon. That's why he's so zen in B2W2, excluding his confrontation with Ghetsis.
Not bad theory, the explanation to give for the Zoroark that holds his memory being likely that, N can share them with his one. As mentioned they carry deep bonds with their trainers and are willing to protect them. Or, N told his Zoroark about what happened. He is clearly inspired if not raised on the belief of Zoroark's dex entry and goes well with the theme of the games bringing to question the truth and ideal between the relationship between humans and Pokemon. Also, that Sinnoh book foreshadowed what BW+2 were going to be focused on. Nuts.
Ok, but I think this is all a foreshadow for the original plot for X and Y, that being aliens. He talks about “my world” and “this world” a lot, however if he was a zoroark, “his world” would be the same as our world. So, as you probably know aliens are from different worlds. So him mentioning “his world” is very strange. But, N being flipped over and turning into a Z could stand for Zoroark, however it could stand for Zygrade. However, I think my theory is a bit of a stretch, but it could be a possibility.
Then the games itself destroys this theory, with basically confirming that N is the descendant of the ancient king of Unova, who's said in the aquatic ruins to have been a benevolent monarch with incredible abilities, including the power of understanding and speak with ALL beings, and the story ends saying that if this King have descendants, there's a huge probability of them being born with those abilities, basically saying that N is descendant of this king

I really enjoyed this video, I got to think of things that I originally overlooked when playing the Unova games. Honestly, I was skeptical but the theories make a lot of sense. When Ghetsis found N in the forest and took him in, he surrounded N with Pokémon that had been abused or abandoned to make an impression on N that Pokémon were unhappy. N was pretty young and vulnerable to being manipulated by Ghetsis as most young children look up to trusted adults. In the Zoroark movie, Zorua is shown to have childish and mischievous attributes, showing it as a child with Zoroark as its mother. That also gets me thinking about how N mainly uses Zoroark last or later on in his party in Black and White. That could strengthen the theory that after all his other Pokémon fainted, he ended up battling the player as Zoroark as a final line of defense for his plans. Anyway, that’s just my thoughts on the topic and I really enjoyed the video
I'd like to add: in the anime, the circumstances in wich N separates from ash and company is rather.... Misterious. They are in a wierd forest paradise, and after a team plasma attack, wich entered the place via a portal of sorts, the protagonists find themselves in a total different location. Could have that place been one of Zoroark illusions all along?

I don't think it's true because when you meet him in victory road in BW2 with zoroark in your team (the zorua given by the sage in Driftveil city, evolved) he'll say: "What's this? Why, you're the… You're the Zoroark that helped me that time, aren't you? Hey, thanks!". Adding to that, in the final battle in pokemon BW, he'll send a zoroark as his last pokemon.
No, he will say this :
"What's this? Why, you're the… You're the that helped me that time, aren't you? Hey, thanks!"
It never implie that he would always say Zoroark, he implie that no matter the Pokemon you are choosing from his old team that you've catched, he will mention that specific Pokemon.
He will say Zoroark because you evolved it but this isn't the same Zoroark that he got on his team, he remember it as a Zorua even if you evolved it.

Well in bulbapedia, under trivia for N, according to Junichi Masuda, N is rumored to have been born from pokemon, so yeah, N is most probably Zoroark. But we won't know for sure.

I always did...
So there is two to three big things in this theory and I knoooooow I am late on it.. but.. I have to say my piece on this one.. The two things that I think makes this theory fall apart is N's relationship to Reshiram/Zekrom and the fact that Zoroark is much like Darkrai in implementation, it's known about but not really seen correct? However if N was found with a Zorua by his side? Then this means that he'd know where to find them, you cannot catch them because of illusions, but he can talk to them. It's a bit of proof that his bond to them is so strong that a few supported him and then vanished off once they were done.
That memory link? That Zoroark could have been with N when that conversation happened, he could remember what he heard N say and triggered that link since if a pokemon can speak like a human in a transformed state, then they can speak period. This is proof by Latias if we want to bring up movies and the show, Latias couldn't speak english. If you take away the gameplay mechanic of being unable to catch Zoroark in the wild, you get to the real thing in that N could find them, he has always known them.
This brings me to the Legendaries.. There's the fact that they wouldn't recognize N as a "Hero" Were he just a pokemon, whats more the shock of having lost and the power exerted when the opposite shows up in the final battle at the League I feel would have shut down the illusion as there's no reason to think they can keep the illusion up forever.. I feel like that link wouldn't have been established to awaken them in the first place were N a Zoroark or Zorua.
Let's add to this, each Zoroark has shown it has a limited time or capacity to keep the illusions up, I don't think N could have stayed in a human state as a Zorua or Zoroark were he watched 24/7 and raised by humans. The hiker couldn't keep his form after talking to you, the woman in the trailer amd even the area is only changed once you get passed those initial wall of tree's and into the clearing. the child being read a book? The way the game interprets it is that the kid was there a short time and then she comes up to read. the event then takes place. it stays forever for you to take part in the event but it's not necessarily a time thing.. Imagine if it went away after a bit of time? you'd never know it were there but if you take it as a story over gameplay mechanic.. it makes more sense that the kid was there, she came over to read a book and you came by with the Zorua's friend shortly after.
N's hairstyle.. could have been what he chose to keep it as since he was friends with Zorua. It goes in line that he'd know Zorua and Zoroark's where ever they are and the games prove throughout Bw and BW2, that there are more than one set of them.
I believe you brought up very valuable points, did very good research, hell I didn't even know about the ruins and the memory links until this video was pointed to by your new video. however I believe those few points.. Even the Zoroark that vanished after leading you to the castle? N's response could be because he asked it to bring you there, he doesn't have to recognize the pokemon to have done this nor would he, he isn't that kind of person to say he asked for you to be brought because it's a matter of you coming to the area and Zoroark shoving away anyone who wasn't you. Only moving to allow you to pass and acknowledge it's job is done. It's food for thought and also a good discussion piece. It's an interesting theory but I don't think this one is meant to be that linked to the Sinnoh stories. However I do believe they wanted to hint to something but we may not have seen even now.

N definitely has a Zoroark of his own, in the battle where he sends it out it cant be himself because you knock it out. Also if you lure it out with something like dragon tail and then knock it out first it doesn't make sense for N to keep sending Pokemon out.
Also the Zoroarks memory link could be it inside one of N's Pokeballs.

I always wondered why although we know that Ghetsis is not N's real father they both have the same hair color. Could it be because being able to transform, N decided to have the same hair color as Ghetsis, who claims to be his father?

I honestly don’t like this theory. Mainly because the first person that brought it to my attention had never played a Gen 5 game, barely knew who N was, and claimed that at no point in time did N ever have a Zoroark on his team, even going as far as claiming that N and a Zoroark are never seen together. Yeah that person was kinda dumb.
So I’m not saying the theory is bad. I just didn’t have a good introduction to it.

I don't think N is a Zoroark "Most of the time," he could still be a Zoroark in some moments. The thing is, if N is truly a Pokémon, who the hell is the original N? A Zoroark has to copy something or at least a part of it to become a disguise.
Plot twist, the original N, is actually Ghetsis. Zoruark disguised him in early young age very well

10:45 well in a Pokemon sun moon episode Zoroark showed one of his memories about her father he created an illusion all around him and Lillie so that she could see that too. That's how Zoroark showed to the player that memory.

1. Nobody in Unova own Zorua/Zoroark except N himself.
2. Both have same hairtyle
3. N is the only one who can speak with Pokémon.
4. Don't you feel weird why his name is only N? It's clearly a Pokémon since every Pokémon only speak any random word so that Zorua/Zoroark might speak something sounds like "N" so that's how he got that name for his human form.
Whoa i never thought about this but it makes sense because zorua or zoroark can be disguised as a human too and yeah N and zoroark do have the same hairstyle and also the fact that N can talk to pokemon and one more thing could it be a coincidence that N didn't choose zoroark as a sync pair in pokemon masters

I won’t say that this theory is incorrect, but you know that pokemon have been known to hear outside of their pokeballs as seen in BW. N could just have his zoruark on him at all times. Zoruark has even refused to be released into the wild because of their bond. As i have said this theory could be mixeli over thinking everything, but i won’t discredit it as it could be true.
And zoroark can use illusion to hide from us in the castle ruins
It can also use it in driftveil to show us the cutscene there, and hide from view when that event took place
Or it could be N’s hat, think about it, ONLY protagonists can wear hats, meaning it’s not a hat it’s a pokemon

Interesting, thanks for the video. I am skeptical because of the reasoning. To prove something, it is essential to study all the elements that can invalidate the theory. A strong theory or argument is something that can resist of the contradictions, when it's hard or impossible to find an invalidating example.
Looking for all the elements that can confirm a theory is very more intuitive for people, but our brain works in such a way that we will always find what we want to see.
The whole idea presented in platinum of pokemon and humans being connected, in relationships, of there not really being differences.
That kind of explains why people in this series are so resilient. Why there are so many psychic people. People able to withstand pokemon attacks and are able to bond so easily with devices to help.
Why they're so easily able to communicate with one another.
My conclusion is, N's Zorua and Zoroark (N) they are both having as a Mother the wild Zoroark we find in BW2

Man, I have not thought about black and white, nor black2 and white 2. Then hearing N's them again made me tear up, great theory with some solid points. I honestly always thought of N to be pokemon adjacent because of team rocket's meowth, but him being an intelligent Zoroark makes a whole lot of sense

And maybe at first that's why N went along with Ghetsis's plan to liberate Pokemon. He wanted Pokemon to live in peace, and being free from "cruel" humans was the key to achieving that dream of his. That started to change as he begins to see clearly how Ghetsis is versus how people, like your character and their friends, treats their pokemon. That's why he's so zen in B2W2, excluding his confrontation with Ghetsis.
Not bad theory, the explanation to give for the Zoroark that holds his memory being likely that, N can share them with his one. As mentioned they carry deep bonds with their trainers and are willing to protect them. Or, N told his Zoroark about what happened. He is clearly inspired if not raised on the belief of Zoroark's dex entry and goes well with the theme of the games bringing to question the truth and ideal between the relationship between humans and Pokemon. Also, that Sinnoh book foreshadowed what BW+2 were going to be focused on. Nuts.
Ok, but I think this is all a foreshadow for the original plot for X and Y, that being aliens. He talks about “my world” and “this world” a lot, however if he was a zoroark, “his world” would be the same as our world. So, as you probably know aliens are from different worlds. So him mentioning “his world” is very strange. But, N being flipped over and turning into a Z could stand for Zoroark, however it could stand for Zygrade. However, I think my theory is a bit of a stretch, but it could be a possibility.
Then the games itself destroys this theory, with basically confirming that N is the descendant of the ancient king of Unova, who's said in the aquatic ruins to have been a benevolent monarch with incredible abilities, including the power of understanding and speak with ALL beings, and the story ends saying that if this King have descendants, there's a huge probability of them being born with those abilities, basically saying that N is descendant of this king
Plot twist: The ancient King dinasty is entirely made of Zoroark
Wait a minute, if Zoroark can transform into any living things nearby or in the same party with Illusion ability, whos the boy that Zoroark transformed into?

For those that remember the Zoroark that leads you to the ruins of Team Plasmas Castle You may have noticed how the Zoroark Just disappears when N is just standing there
