hey remember when Pokémon games were this good? Now we have literally 0 story elements and a post game that is reminiscent of a sudden slap to the face and a scar on your wrist....Idfk THIS WAS THE PEAK OF POKÉMON IS WHAT IM GETTING AT
Gen 5 was the last great gen, the newer ones are ok, but they will never reach the level of story telling these games had.

We don't see triple battles since gen 5, and in swsh there are a ton of gen 5 mons and some gmax forms. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw bw3 soon
Nah if they did a BW3 game it would suck. BW2 completed the story from BW nicely, so there's not much to add on from there.

Gen 5 has a special place in my heart.
Bruh pokemon Black was my first main Pokémon game (my first was actually rescue team blue) and I’m not lying when I say I played that game to oblivion. I had shinies from every region, all the legendaries from every region, AND completed the pokedex while only using the GTS like once and that was for my last pokemon. It’s not working any more because the chip was near water and I didn’t know about the rice trick. I’m so sad because of that.

It is sad, but B2W2 did come about the end of the DS life cycle and followed up the controversial BW. Even though GenV was amazing overall, it had a lot of things stacked against it. Maybe if it sold well modern Pokémon games wouldn’t have continued to handhold players through their journeys.

When people criticize Gen 5, they usually focus only on some pokemons looking like ice-cream, garbage and construction workers. I bet they actually never played the Gen 5 games. Everyone who has played the games appreciates the storyline, characters and features. Also, Gen 5 gave us a lot of cool pokemons like Volcarona, Hydreigon, Galvantula, Keldeo and Genesect.
Hydreigon is my favourite Pokemon and Volcarona is also up there with my all time favourites, and I don’t even think that the people who criticise gen 5 have even PLAYED the games.

Bruh, the entire scene feels off. Why did the Shadow Triad even show up? I'll tell you why. To debunk the theory that they are the same people.
From the plot and storyline, to the new features it introduced like reusable TMs, seasonal changes and new battle mechanics, the music, iconic locations, and best of all, some of the most well-written characters in pokemon, *Black and White* would forever remain the best Pokémon games in my opinion
High up there I only played a few of them and this is really good but if it could change one thing is that the Pokémon in this generation were kinda weak

ultimate Recoil You could just enter it into a selection screen. Or you know, it does save all information to your sd card, so it realistically could’ve been extracted from there. Yes I know that requires a lot of work and still would have issues but it’s one thing that would work.

Even though it may be lacking something, it's still much better mechanic wise than the first few generations and their illogical way of constructing the pokémon themselves.
I really can't forget the fact that there were pokémon that became useless because of the way of distributing stats or movesets (like the Voltorb with no electric moves)

These flashbacks feel like Pokémon Generations episodes, just a little.
I never watch it tbh, but I think it has that same feels from the manga.
My problem with generations was how short the episodes were
they could have made hour long episodes with 100 of them per generation, could have even sold them as part of a ripoff subscription, but they still would have sold for good content

Nah, there really is nowhere the story can progress from here. I just want a gen 5 redux where it's both games combined (when you beat the champion of the first, you start up as the second). Then, where ghetsis would have had black / white kyurem, it's ultimate kyurem. Queue up raid boss style battle where you and your old self now 2v1 the ultimate kyurem as if it was eternamax. Then, have free trading between the two main characters, and there you have an awesome gen 5 sequel.

Honestly the biggest flaw of this is that it requires memory link. If there was a way to access these in-game without it this would've been perfect. I'm glad videos are made of these at least.
rartin that poses the issue of how will the game know what the name of your black 1 white 1 character without connecting to it. As well as knowing what starter you chose for black 1 white 1 so when cherry uses his old team he uses his old starter
rartin what would be ideal is if in a possible remake ( that doesn’t gut the best features of the region like hoeen remakes and battle frontier) is if the game console detects game data of black white one it would then let you transfer that data if you choose. Then add a fight with your main character from the first game’s team into pwt like everyone wanted in two

I never did used to like Black/White that much as a kid when I first played this game, I'll admit that. I was all in it for the battles and the training and the winning.
Coming back to this as an adult, I can really see the gem that it is now, and its astounding that it's nearly a decade old. Where are these dev's at? We need more of this with our older characters.
I just want to know where the writing team for this game is and what are they doing, because black and white/black white 2 are masterpieces of writing...

Alder was the only champion the entered and left differently before. He became champ because the league asked him. He didn’t beat the four he was such a good trainer that they asked him.he left because he wanted to help out the region.that shows alder’s true character and that’s why he’s best champ in my book.
It‘s been over 8 years and i never knew that these flashbacks had ever existed..
There is so much post-game or hidden content in BW2, that one of the things that's making those games so great.

Lovely music. It really brings me back to my childhood.
There is so much character development in those characters... That's so great. In the other games, team admins and Gym Leaders, as well as the Elite Four, feel so bland and uninteresting... With those flashbacks, you understand everything in those BW1 and BW2 Games.
For some reason I find Bianca & the Ghost E4 to be really adorable
Bianca had trouble getting her pokeball out of her bag in B/W and proceeds to give starter pokemons to us in B2/W2, and so far there are only 2 games with actual sequels (Pokemon R/B or FR/LG -> G/S or HG/SS, and B/W -> B2/W2)
A lot of people appreciate Gen 5 because its prequel & sequel are in the same gen, and also the fact that it has quite an assortment of interesting characters

Hunnterh While people predict B3W3, I would rather actually have a remake and reimagine the story in a newer direction. After all, we are still in the “Mega” universe and things could become drastically different with those implications. But really, I want the Dream World explored more.
Hunnterh Every gen should have a sequal. Not a 3rd enhanced version. A sequal is so much better than the same story with little upgrades.

Fun Fact in BW2 we were supposed to battle the former protagonist in the regular Black and White games based of which gender you choose in BW2 but the creators scratched that idea out for some reason.. that’s why there’s a whole plot about your mom in BW2 knowing the mom of (Hilda/Hilbert) the protagonist in Black and White.

I know i am probably over analyzing but for me two brothers of unova represents plato and aristotle as one was realist(truth) and other one was idealist(ideal), which as respectively represented by two parts of same coin, the empty husk of kyurem was meant to represent the chaos, the lack of order, order which is created by the merger of truth and ideal

Team Plasma always reminds me of PETA who became really active against Pokemon around the same time when BW was released. They also made such a mock game where you free Pokemon (iirc). Kind of funny that Nintendo had made PETA antagonists in BW, let it be coincidentally.

1st gen with team rocket and the theory of mewtwo, 2nd gen of team rocket tryng to find Giovanni, 3rd gen with 2 rivals fighting for land and water, 4th gen... Uhhh (srry i never played 4th gen bc I got bored of it) and now 5th gen with N wanting to free the pokemon against his father that wants to rule the world (plz respond whats the purpose of team galaxia so i change It)
The leader (Cyrus) wants to build a new world with no emotion and pain, a perfect world only for him. The grunts just don't know it and they don't care

And this is why BW/BW2 are my favorite Pokémon games. Sadly, this doesn’t seem like it will change for a long time.
Black and White where the peak of development in the franchise. Good history, great difficult, good characters and a truly evil team with original ideas.
I never forget how connected to my team I felt when N told me "He said he liked you, he said he wanted to be with you", truly a great game with a wonderful message.
Can't wait for the remakes

You have the right not to like them but these games are masterpieces.

The memory links were the absolute best parts of these games imo. Every single one had me squealing like a little kid or bawling my eyes on out. Especially when you can battle Bianca and Cheren with their BW original teams. THAT was epic.
Never knew there were so many deep stories hidden in B2W2. Thank you for reminding me how good gen5 games were.

I find the backstory for why cress chilli cilan and brycen retired from being gymleaders and why alder retired from being the champion and him having drayden train iris up to be his successor all interesting and fun to learn.but my question I have that the memory link dosent answer is why are hillbert or Hilda still searching for N 2 whole years later they made their mom sick to death about them and also they were originally trying to become champion and they worked so hard to achieve it that they almost did so why diddent they ever come back and rechallenged the league why did they put their dream on pause for so long I know N is their friend now but I think their way to desperate to find him if you been searching for a friend and 2 years later you still haven't found them you should either take a break from your search or give up.also going 2 years without seeing or talking to their mom is really messed up.
I guess the games needed a way to just get rid of the old protagonist
There was a sub plot where the protagonist of BW2 battles the protagonist on BW1 (sort of like when the protagonist of HGSS battled against the protagonist of the previous Gen: Red) as a final showdown kind of battle. But sadly the idea was scrapped for unknown (and unjustifiable, in my opinion) reasons...
Maybe they felt it was too much of a copy of the famous battle against Red on top of Mt. Silver and therefore, too unoriginal, but i am sure most of us would not care about that.
I never played Black 2/White 2 when I was younger. (I never even knew it existed until I got back into Pokémon in 2016 thanks to GO) Neither did I play Black/White until recently thanks to emulators. But this shit makes me tear up. I remember when Black and White first came out I was in third grade and one of my friends who had it was telling me all about it. I wish I could just go back 10 years ago and be a kid again
The 3D models in the new games are great, but I still think the old sprites have a charm that they'll never nail

...it's interesting to see this never be addressed again out of time or money.
X and Y made me think so many times there were gonna be plans akin to memory link, from the cut areas and mystery doors, to npcs that signify something bigger to come out, to oras' zinnia addressing multiple worlds, to even the event legends being focused of past and future, diancie being based on prodigy, a theme of future royalty, volcanion being based on the past, specifically steampunk Era with hints of prehistory, and hoopa would be like the gate being the two, allowing to travel between the past, future, and realm between, space time. And yet... it felt they got cold feet after oras was so successful compared to x and y's corner cutting...
well, its more like they got cold feet after seeing the unreasonable hate the loud side of the media poured on bw and bw2; which in turn made the games dramatically undersell.
there is~ evidence that a sequel for x and y was planned. videos about it pop up every now and then. but, they cut the risk early.
This really is a trip down memory lane.
I love these cutscenes they were such an underrated part of the series and i wish they would bring them back. These games really did an amazing job at flushing out the backstory to characters you didn't even know you had a deep backstory. The music and the stories show that despite what team plasma did during the events of B/W it still affected everyone and really made people think and change themselves. I've said it once and I'll say it a million times, Gen 5 had the best games of the series by far.
