This did work for me. I was so frustrated and spent a day and was googling over and over how to disable this stupid thing. I went patiently through his steps and rebooted..tried a file that my computer kept deleting...and it work. So hopefully for other frustrated people. If you take the time and go through the steps...it will work on Windows 11. I hope my computer doesn't update later and mess this up.. But if it does..I am definitely coming back here for any new tweaks we might need to do. I spent almost 3 grand on my computer...there's no way I want Windows deleting random files or just ignoring settings I'd like to use. Thank you!
So although when I go to security settings it does show that there is no active antivirus program on the computer when I go to my task manager under processes it is still showing the antimalware service executable running and consuming resources as well as anti-malware core service do you have any way to disable these as well? I also realized after restarting the computer twice it deleted the disabled anti-spyware registry command from the list automatically and I had to re-input it
Yeah on the surface it looks like you disabled windows defender but like you said all the services are still running and consuming resources. There’s currently no reliable way to disable defender whether it’s momentarily or permanently without using a third party tool or GitHub script. The issue with those is that: 1: you have to trust running a script on your pc from unknown (even if reputable) source 2: you WILL break your OS in the long run unless you’re ok with also disabling windows updates forever. The reason for that is because WU will inevitably try to update and thus restore defender, and more often than not will start corrupting your updates and failing them entirely. I do not recommend permanently disabling Defender, however I am too looking for a way to just shut it down whilst preserving its integrity. I’m pretty much 100% positive at this point that if a video or guide offers a way to disable defender without booting into Safe Mode first, you can go ahead and skip it because it’s absolutely useless, as we simply don’t have the admin privileges on our machine when we’re logged into our account normally. Furthermore I found an untested solution on SuperUser forums that suggests renaming the WinDefend registry folder in Safe Mode to something like “WinDefend-BLOCKED!!!” And it supposedly should also stop all the services. Give it a try
Thanks and greetings from Türkiye. Its works for me and making disable the Windows Defender is affecting the booting time and pc performance very well. Now you have a new subscriber, good luck :)
because it ruins absolutely everything you try to download and have absolutely no way to turn it off unless you do shit like this. Microsoft has taken away all control
The ONLY tutorial that actually worked on my Windows 11 Home OS!

Which one do I delete so I can get updates again?
If defender is activated again when restarting the computer, defender is still activated, all the keys created do not work.
Quick, clear and effective. What a legend, thank you so much!
