I don't remember when I came into the Taxi reruns, but I did wonder what happened to John. Switching him out for Jim was for the best, though, Jim was hilarious.
Dont remember The Six O' Clock show at all, but Randall was a pretty big part of Taxi in season one. Remember the episode when he got married? I can't say i disliked his character, but i do see the argument that there were similarities between him and Tony. Still, i kind of liked his character. Happy to hear he is doing so well!
Personally, I think John Burns was more mild- mannered and insecure unlike Tony Banta who was more argumentative although he also had moments of vulnerability too.
"The Six O'Clock Follies." Even as a 17 year old I knew that show had a ridiculous premise. I guess I had Stephen's nose for television. It was all "hijinks and hilarity" until it suddenly got maudlin while the two talking heads on the "news" program at 6 reported that "we had some casualties, today". Ugh... I cringe just thinking about it. Two episodes... Took that long, huh?
Similar to Tony Banta. Not really. Interesting as they usually give a two sentence explanation when a character is written off and disappears or even killed off.
Sorry, but Carver was a terrible inclusion to the cast, and I agree, he and Tony had too many similarities, playing naive and clueless.. Tony had the boxing characteristic to carry him, but Carver had nothing else, and was hardly missed.. Not his fault, but the writers…Lloyd was a great addition..my biggest pet peeve was not having a person of color in the cast.. A city as diverse as NYC?… and a taxi driver?..inexcusable..and would have given the show a deeper layer..
@@stephensundstrom6379I was born and raised in NYC, and have taken a ton of cabs.. And never had a driver that remotely looked like Tony, Jeff, and Marilu.. Christopher?.. Yes..🤣
Hi Stephen,cool video.
Thanks.👍
Thanks Anton!
Hi Stephen thank you for this video update. I always wondered why he left the show. Nick
You’re very welcome!
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! Any relation to Randall?
@@stephensundstrom6379 LOL! I wished I could say I was. Unless, he's a distant cousin. You never know! LOL!
Good stuff Steve!
Thanks Dave!

I liked his character as well. I just watched that episode where he gets married this past week. It’s a pretty good episode.

Life is strange. Someone canceled his life as a full time actor. I wonder who ever made that decision was written out of something he wanted to do.
Great point!

Having Marilu Henner play a New York City taxi driver was about as realistic as those sumptuous apartments in "Friends" too.
@@zoperxplex 🤣… So true..
