you are such a great teacher. I look forward to your videos. I've been a handmade quilter for years then bought a sewing machine last year & these videos make it easier learning how to machine piece & sew blocks. it also is great to have rotary cutting tips & techniques. thank you so much you are so sweet in your videos too!
Youre simply great! I am glad to be living in this era of handphones and you tube.At age 65 l am looking forward to hours of happy creations with your help! Thank you Sherril for being out there !
Thank you for your new series on quilt blocks. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I feel inspired every time I see your work. Maureen x
Great video. I want to make a throw quilt for the foot of my bed or perhaps a footer. How would it look to just repeat the Roman Square Quilt Design to get it the width and length needed?
Hi Martha. Just keep stitching the blocks together until you get your desired size. This block is also called "fence rail (rail fence)". Go to the internet and enter "fence rail quilts (or quilt block)" and other suggested patterns will be listed. You will see "images of fence rail". Thanks for watching and happy sewing.
Hi there I found you Channel recently and I’m trying to do the beginner sampler quilt you are a great teacher I’ve never done anything like this before and I’ve manage to reach this far but I’m having a problem when I turn 2 of the blocks vertical to create the pattern they are shorter that the 2 which stay horizontal. I have shed strips from a jelly roll using 1/4 inch seams cut them all at 61/2 so I’m lost at what I did wrong would greatly appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you 🙏🏾
Hi Ali. This is a common problem when first learning how to quilt. I want you to watch the video "How To Square A Quilt Block." It explains the common mistakes made when measuring, cutting, and stitching. ua-cam.com/video/v3b6tojNqqI/v-deo.html

The Sewing Room Channel thank you very much I didn't realise how an 1/16 of an inch can throw it all off.
thank you.

Thank you 😊
Hi would like to know where you purchased your rulers.
Missouri Star Quilt Co, Joann's Fabrics, Amazon to name a few
Please post the yardage needed for the entire quilt.
