It’s unlikely he will, unless he is told by chat beforehand that he can.
For 99% of players who play Super Metroid for the first time, during the escape sequence, your instinct is to just run to your ship and survive. Almost nobody’s instinct will be “oh maybe I should morph ball down this tunnel because it’ll lead to a secret during this escape sequence” especially considering the fact that every door before this is locked and cannot be opened, thus logically, you assume that the game doesn’t want you to steer away from the main path

wall jumps are very hard
Super Metroid does a couple of things that make me think the gameplay designer had been playing a lot of Street Fighter 2. There are a few places where you get stunned or grabbed and can get out of it quicker by moving the dpad back and forth. The jump timing is another one - has to be frames 1 through 10 after pressing away from the wall. 1/6 of a second is a very fighting game kind of timing.

At 14:40... "I power bombed here, but it didn't do anything." That is because you need "gravity".
That, or speedrun strats.
I almost want to keep track of how many Power Bombs will be wasted trying to uncover a secret that isn't there.
