Some very good tips here! Another top tip for ebay buying is BE PATIENT! Unless you're dealing with something very rare, you'll often find that missing piece that you're desperate to get hold of, will eventually show up for a much more reasonable price than that ridiculous Buy It Now price you've been tempted by and don't get involved in auction battles that often end with the winner paying twice its real value!
Great video, in charity shops found a couple from the 1990's Roller man, and a few other casualty figures, top brand, wish kids could stay a few hours off phones, etc for play (unless they're doing online schooling.) Can't get these quality toys today. Sadly...🇬🇧👌❤👍
When I think of the collection of seven Action Men and various uniforms I had as a 12 year old in 1967, compared to the absolutely fantastic sets that came out later, I could get green with envy ! Tanks ? Motorcycles ? Jeeps ? No way, only in my wildest dreams ! Therefore I Jerry built a tank for my men out of cardboard boxes, but like you said in the introduction, we were imaginative in those days and learnt to improvise and make do with what we had. But those later uniforms were so excellent in detail, I must say that I sometimes regret growing up !!!
I was the same, cardboard shoe boxes were best! Finally my gran bought me the space capsule. It became any vehicle I wanted it to be!! In 1967 my dad sent my figure to Palitoy or whoever to repair a damaged arm. The company were amazing, they sent the AM back with a letter that was made to look like a military order, it gave instructions on how to give him route marches and marching drill etc. Such attention to the customer.Fantastic for an 8 year old boy to receive.
@@michaelkane1819 Excellent, Michael! I had a similar experience with them in 1967. As a naïve 11 year old, I sent them a batch of detailed instructions for making all kinds of uniforms and equipment, for example for a Japanese Infantryman, including spectacles with slit eyes !!! They thanked me for the advice and sent me a free Action Man figure, which was fantastic! I really appreciated their reaction and was stunned when in 1968, I think, they started producing some of the uniforms that I had 'invented' in early 1967, the German Infantryman etc. !! I couldn't be bothered about potential copyright, I had my free Action Man and was then just very happy to be able to collect fantastic new British and other brilliant uniforms !
Thank you so much for this great video. I am long past collecting Action Man for display but I hope to be able to piece together some bits and pieces for sale that will interest folks. Big shout out to Dave at Toy Polloi for his restoration videos on Action Man as well as the many other wonderful toys he has amassed over the years. 0:43 Wow! There’s a blast from my past - a Galaxy Invader 1000 handheld game! I don’t remember the exact details, I believe there was a competition in Look-In (THE teen magazine in the 70’s) and I won one of these games. I played with it for ages then my best friend borrowed it, the batteries ran out and he plugged in a mains adaptor which was the wrong polarity and it never worked again. I think it was thrown out many years ago. And Ladybird books. Proper reading for children. I read as many as I could from the early series of Peter and Jane (and Pat the dog) right through to the later stories where Peter and Jane would visit cousins at the seaside and explore caves or go water-skiing. Our local library (closed many years ago and currently under planning permission for ‘residential apartments’) had so many of these Ladybird books and I spent so much time there, even after I went to ‘big school’ after primary education.
Hello, while searching I found your UA-cam channel by chance. I see that you are an amateur and specialist in Action Man. I am Belgian and while rummaging in my attic, I found an Action Man Sailor (1977). I know it's a collector's item. Can you tell me how much this figurine can be valued ? Where can I find a site to sell it ? Thank you for your help. Sincerely
So I've just purchased my first action man 1964 original...the hands are discoloured and are becoming brittle ,I would like to get a new pair of grip hands and replace them ...would this effect its price or is something that's excepted and not a big deal ...its a German officer and cost me 65 quid...so not the most expensive but its good condition
@markveganism5003 Hi just to let you know Action man was released in 1966 the stamp on his back that says ( under licence from Hasbro 1964 is because that's when they realised Gi Joe .And if yours has hands that are going brittle they are Gripping hands that came out in 1973. Hope this helps. Lee.
It's like If you want to learn about vintage GI JOE you need to look up action man this baffles me was GI JOE not that popular I highly doubt it so strange that I find more content about action man than GI JOE and Joe came first!
Estrela from Brazil has been producing these Action man since 2017,in Brazil is called Falcon, brand new ,pretty much the same compared to action man, very good quality, access www.estrela.com.br

hello from France !!!!
My first one was action man “battleforce”
Fantastic, simple as that!!! :-)
I get dreams about my action man toys
You guys should check Mercari and Mercari JP. I just got an unreal deal on an Action Man Eagle Eye Soldier and German Action Team Adler Auge with box.
Future is now old man
Has anyone tried getting battlefield casualties before? If so I could use some tips
Sorry but I have to hand it to England, they have the best commercials

I am different I may be gen alpha but I still had action men and no internet
When i was little i had a vintage action man with that cool hair that feels real and my mom threw him away.
Why did she throw it away
I just started but from Belgium it’s not easy. Collected 1 catalogue mint and the training tower with box. The figures are the problem...
How do you buy off of action man hq ??
Could some of these tips be also applied to collecting 2000’s max steel figures?
I personally thought that TV action man advert was disturbing
Peace to all I thought it was gay 🤣 🤣
@@CRYSTALSDAD100 I think you were supposed to watch it with tongue in cheek, like the makers!!!
