    I’d like to see final result. As a project manager who runs asphalt jobs for I would think heating the asphalt with the torch would potentially scorch the binding material rendering that patch to have a shorter life span

      @mudtechworks I'd say that infrared doesn't scorch the material like an open flame does. Do I really need to teach you thermodynamics?

    Major fault is don't burn the oil out of the area. Your patch will not stick. Open flame is usually a bad idea as the flame should be Indirect heat like infrared or heat a plate over rhe area with a torch. Alittel new asphalt goes along way too new oils will bond better. But over all not a bad way to do tiny patches

    • @soupbowlbandit5831
      @soupbowlbandit5831 8 місяців тому +1

      @ebolawarrior451 to a point yes and no. Diesel fuel will break down the structure of asphalt. Hence why it's used to keep beds or truck clean and shovels and loots clean. A little will soften asphalt but just a littel to much and now you just have a mess

      Yup. So you get what the video is saying. Read the other comments. Everyone thinks this “burns” the asphalt oils. It would burn if you where so inexperienced that you just hold the torch in one place for the duration. As the video clears shows and says you have to move the torch around as evenly as possible.

    Only problem is your burning the liquid AC out of the mix by doing this and it's not going to last. That why portable Asphalt recyclers has to have AC added back in to the mix when you reheat it.
