As a native Italian speaker I must say Crowe's command of the language (down to the Italian accent when speaking English) is impressive

@davidklein1903 as far as I know he doesn't speak the language, not fluently enough to act at least. He was probably coached, which makes this even more impressive
I disagree. I come from an Italian speaking family as well and I wasn't overly impressed with Crowe's. Still a fantastic actor
@danieldevito6380 for someone who doesn't actually speak the language he did a way better job than "italian-Americans" convinced they speak the language. Last time I was in NY and someone realized I was from Italy and tried to speak italian (what he believed was italian, at least), I couldn't understand a word. I can understand Crowe well enough. Sure, the pronunciation is off-key many times, sure, the grammar might not be perfect, but he did a phenomenal job for someone whose first language is English and with no formal Italian training.
Russel Crowe is the kind of actor that could read the label of dish detergent in such a way you'll be gripping the arms of your chair because of the way he manifests his character's power, rage, compassion and depth turning a scene with such impact you walk away from it in awe. His talent is remarkable.
Ok now don't get carried away, but he is in my top 10, I'll give you that.

What an absolutely riveting performance. I've been a follower of the paranormal for 60 years and seeing the real Father Amorth in action in various video clips, he completely 'nails it' in his portrayal of this famous exorcist priest. Coincidentally, he was born in the same village as my maternal grandmother and was a contemporary of the now sainted Padre Pio...
Gianni looked surprised when the farmer killed the pig. What the hell did he think he was going to do? Send it out to forage? "Hey Satan, let's go find some truffles now."

Russell Crowe is a legend! At first i skipped this movie because i thought this movie will be bad and im not big fan of these kind of movies anyways, BUT Russell changed my mind! :D
He's always been a good actor. Just picks roles or directors that doesn't match his skills. Don't think anyone living or dead could have done gladiator any better. This movie looks very good!
Beautiful Mind is his best work in my opinion, trully beautifull.
Great performance from Russel C ,he seems to fit the role very well, also the supporting actors were brilliant. What makes the film more interesting was the fact he portrays an actual priest (deceased).Gets a 10/10 from me!

Russell Crowe, ladies and gentlemen. From a funny Zeus character in Thor: Love and Thunder, to a powerful exorcist priest. This is what an actor should be.

This movie is incredible, and Russell Crowe is a force of nature in his role. The little moments add to the tension. Note how the demon flinches at 3:38 when Father Amorth holds up his Saint Benedict medallion. Satan might try to scare the priest, but he recognises the one Power he can't overcome. Those medallions don't have "Vade retro satana" ("Begone, Satan!") on the back of them without reason.
Can you tell me a bit more about those medallions ? This is the first time I have seen or heard of them . They are good to have around I can see !!!!
@@irenemacias7423 They’re a sacramental medal believed to offer protection against curses, evil, and disease. Essentially, it represents a prayer on its user’s part for God’s blessing and protection. The initials you see at in the centre of the medal at 3:41 - C S S M L and N D S M D - are the initials of the words “Crux sacra sit mihi lux! Nunquam draco sit mihi dux!” (May the holy cross be my light! May the dragon never be my overlord!). The medal represents faith - that God watches over us, and that because of Him we needn’t fear demons.
I mean if you watched the actual movie you would know that the first "demon" wasn't a real demon at all. He even explains it in the hearing.
As the son of Italian immigrants, my mother was a school teacher before emigrating to Newark NJ from Italy in the early 1950's. I must say Mr. Crowe's Italian pronunciation is not bad at all. Pretty impressive for a non Italian from Australia.

I had wondering why music was in this movie, I had to make sure my music wasn't turned on. I realized this album came out during... 1985- 1986. It's fits the time.

Satan wasn't there. It wasn't a true possession. The boy didn't know the father's name and only knew English from watching TV. He was mentally ill,and the exorcist gave him a start on healing, which needed to be followed by professional therapy. This was all made clear in the exorcist's report and testimony.

He was "challenged" in a way that even a toddler could see through. "Oh yeah well if you're so talented Satan why don't you just possess that pig right there next to the guy with the shotgun pointed at the pig? Heh gottem." Satan, leader of hell, the thousands of years old Prince of Lies and Deception who didn't see the whole scam coming from 10 miles away, after waking back up hell: "HEEEEEY WAIT A MINUTE!!!!!!" Hollywood writers are braindead morons who treat their audiences like they're even dumber than them.

Movie was good, but I wanted to know more of the little boy and family after the events at the end (don’t want to spoil the ending)
There will never be another, Original Exorcist (1973) the first version that came out in theaters with No CGI, the entire movie set even down to the steady cam and the screenwriting was completely handmade.
