- This is a demo quick video I recorded for my newly purchased Astra J tesla Style Head unit, this was fitted to my 2013 Astra GTC 2.0cdti. I bought it from IceBoxAuto that is a uk based company that offers 2 years warranty with all their headunits, at the time I bought the best spec one they did, it was fitted for around 2 months but I did end up selling it and replacing it with a smaller more OEM looking one that I will review at a later date. The main reason for this was for me, I found the screen shape a bit of a pain as the top and bottom bars are constantly there on screen but this was only personmal preference.
the launcher was Nova Launcher, I was experimenting with layouts but eventually settled with one called 'AGMA Car Launcher' on the android play store.

Looking great just brought a astra... 2011... 5 door Sri... Mint.. Love to have this as no sat nav or Bluetooth... But its go a phone button lol

Since installing the rear camera, my number plate lights have stopped working, and I get an error regarding the number plate lights when starting the car. Did you have any such problems? The bulbs themselves are fine and they are not fused so it is not a fuse issue. I believe they are controlled by the CANBUS.

hey man do you no how to put the radio on/off via the menu because i cant find a way to do this other then turning of the the car its more because sometimes there is a problem having sound issues via bleuthooth and the only way to fix it is to restart the device

Yes if I remember correctly it was from directly behind the stereo for the reverse
What gb ram is yours mate. Should I just go for the most expensive at 6gb ram?

I have the insignia and i wonder if the controls in the middle next to the armrest will work also like the navi button for example..
not sure, depends if the insignia version has the option for the factory screen controls.

i changed my homescreen to a different launcher, I have since replaced this stereo I just need to record a video one day.

You can use android auto and apple Carplay on it if you buy the £40 add on, as for Bluetooth I have only ever used one device but it does sync contacts etc
U mentioned having a Simcard in there. Does it comes with a simcard slot or did u buy an external simcard slot for it. I got the Android 10.1 version and I'm wondering how to include a sim card as it has the capability of using a sim. Would really appreciate it to hear from u. Thanks

@@michaelheinrich44 Seems not. The one I bought is Android 10.1 and when I asked them if it had sim slot, they said they don't. And the most I see on ebay doesn't have sim slot either
Mate, i got my Astra 2010 j recently, as my first car. It came with a cd nav500, i think. But it hasn't bluetooth, and the navigation doesn't work either. Does this android display come with integrated bluetooth and everything?
I just install mine,,yeah you can't see much the monitor if your driving coz it's in a slanting position facing the driver,and mine keyboard letter t and v are not working,the rest was fine

I have the gtc vxr bought it with a screen but it’s broken and need to source another one. You have any idea where I can get one that fits the vxr button? There’s loads of general Astra ones but I’m struggling here!

This one didn't come with Apple Carplay but for £40 more it could have with an add on unit.

I just had mine fitted from Manchester adio center, I really didn't fancy the install myself I'm not that savvy, but I agree it's a great unit, got all my apps on and a few movies, iptv installed, skygo in, only thing Is my doors are opposite when opened, any way to switch it over in the car menu app ?
@James Aitchison Hi James, as you've taken the plunge I am curious with the button functions that have been removed as in the eco stop start button is that still operational within the cars setting on the new headset?

How did you get the indicators too sound?
There was a small round speaker that plugged into the loom that provided the indicator sounds as well as the parking sensor sounds. I no longer have this car now but it was a good stereo
Would this work in the Astra j VXR with it having a vxr button ?
Yes but you would loose the vxr button functionality unless like some people and re wire it to somewhere else
@@MicksWheels I'm just bored of the standard setup. I've tried to get an upgrade but nothing supports the vxr button. Everything takes it away which is a shame. 😔 I love my vxr but Id die for sat nav in it with a working vxr button. 😔

It's all plug and play dude, as long as all of the cables are attached they work.

yes, that is how I had used it, since then I have replaced the stereo with a much smaller Android one with similar functionality

No mate not at all, some cheaper ones from Aliexpress do though. I've read on the Internet of a fix for it.
