      Quick tip that little peg on the side if you wrap at the end of your round it holds the yarn so you dont have to pinch it :)

    I am less than two minutes into this video and had to pause to comment. This is the best explanation to learn a slip knot I have come across. I always have to watch a few times to get it.

      Seriously the best. Now that I have a lil story to leap the slip knot, I think I will remember it thanks to you and your mom.
      Projects can sometimes be months in between and I had never found slip knot to be muscle memory for me.

    Nice tutorial. However, I am working with a very thick baby blanket yarn and didn't have a tapestry needle with a large enough eye to thread the yarn through, so I found I could accomplish the binding off using a crochet hook to pull the tail of the yarn through each loop. Worked very well.

    I have a 5 yarn that doesn’t seem so chunky or bulky so in case single strand does not work I’m glad that the idea of using the pen sleeve to keep it loose enough for the brim is something I can use.

    I’d been using a binder clip to hold my working yarn on the anchor peg while knitting over. I never thought to just knit the last peg I wrapped FIRST. 😂 Thanks for the tips!

  • @irene_f.

    Whatever peg the dangling yarn ( that you are using to wrap around each of the pegs) - the peg that dangling yarn is on IS the last stitch you did. The next stitch will look like all the others w/o a dangling yarn hanging from it. 💗I hope I was clear & this helps bc it's easier than using a stitch marker. I use a Clover row counter to keep track of my rows.

    Does it actually matter which way you go? I'm right-handed and have always gone counter-clockwise. Every video I've watched on other channels have said it doesn't matter as long as you're consistant through the project. I also CAN NOT use a loom upside-down and not sure why you feel that's necessary, unless you are just doing it so that we can see what you are doing more easily? I do really appreciate this method over using two strands tho... thank you!

    Another question: After going all the way around the FIRST time with e-wrap, could you then just wrap the yarn around a single peg 3 times before moving on to the next peg? Or is it structurally dependent on you going around 4 times for the "cast on"?

    • @KierasMommy1
      @KierasMommy1 4 роки тому +2

      I'm not Mikey,but I thought I'd try to help.😁 It should work, depending on the gauge size of your loom. If you have a wide gauge loom (space between the pegs) like Mikey is using in the video,you might want to use two strands of the #4weight yarn. If the loom you are using is a smaller gauge loom, then one strand of #4 weight yarn would work.

      I have been looming these hats for at least fourteen years using 4 worsted weight yarn . And I have never used a ink pen case as a yarn feed . Really don’t see a need for it . Find it funny that these looms are all the sudden so popular when they have been on the market for at least fifteen or sixteen years . Loom on ☺️😊😁

      @@KierasMommy1 thanks for the reply. I'm open to any help. My loom says for worsted weight or bulky weight. I'm new to loom knitting. Normally I just knit or crochet hats, but I need to produce quite a few in a short amount of time. The need in our area is great this year.

      Because this project is good for beginners and they often need to see that part, even just as a reminder. Why are you rudely overreacting like an entitled narcissist? Oh of course, it’s easy for you, so why do you have to waste a few more seconds watching it, right? If only the world revolved around you!
