That's so nice to hear! Since it is a video journal, I try to challenge myself in learning new things about fashion and summarizing them in each video. I'm actually always a bit nervous, because I think it might be annoying to some... But this is what keeps me motivated:)
I absolutely love high waisted, full briefs. I love how they make me feel ‘in’…..lol. No muffin top, no wedgies….even under jeans! And contrary to popular belief, not all of them are ‘granny panties! I love the vintage look they give, like a sexy pin up vibe. I’m lucky enough to work for a fashion retailer that does a lot of this style of brief. I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to sew my own knickies, but these look so simple but elegant.
Another wonderful video! Not to ask too much of you, but I would like to learn more about fashion history. If you ever have the time to share some of your favorite fashion books/reads, I’d be very interested! So excited for the bra video as I know next to nothing about how they’re constructed.
I think you are very inspiring, i adore silk, i think most do. I really enjoy that you discuss the history of garments, the beliefs of that time ( in accordance with the garment), how things have evolved, and why. Thank you for sharing such a skill!
Thank you, Katarina, for another great video along with the pdf instructions. Working the figures I have (model's waist circumference 81.28cm and hips 100.33) and using the existing EK (used for the 1-1-2 pattern) of 0.833 for my silk fabric on her hip measurements, I find that lengths 30-29 and 28-27 are almost exactly same as the 1/2 waist measurement - actually about 4mm shorter. Should the EK be applied to the waist circumference measurement too or, if not, what are the implications of this for the remainder of the project?
Thank you! The EK shouldn't be applied to the waist circumference, since the briefs will than be too narrow to pull over the hips. The way this pattern works, is that it is just slightly more narrow on the waist (which is 4mm in your case) and the elastic will do the rest of the work. As a result the bias cut fabric will be as snug as possible on the figure, but still somewhat loose on the waist aka slightly ruffled by the elastic. It's the only way I was able to find for a non stretchy material, without adding a closure in the back. I hope I understood your question, let me know :)
I absolutely love your pursuit of lycra/spandex free undies (that happen to be eye-poppingly beautiful too). I was wondering about the gorgeous stockings you are wearing under these beauties. Are they wool or silk? In general, have you managed to find a way to eradicate plastic from stockings too?
i love how you discuss fashion history as you sew! your voice is so calming too🫶🏼

This is the video of my dreams. I’ve always wanted to sew my own underwear and you have made it possible and so beautiful 😍 thank you 🥹

juchu! I've been waiting for ur next video
This video was very informative, relaxing, pretty. Maybe i'll sew some underwear :)
It’s very interesting to have a discussion around more modern underwear. I don’t see it in many videos. Great video, a pleasure to watch.
Katerina -- I'm impressed at your dedication. I wish I were so dedicated to make my own undies!

Since your models waist to hip difference is not too big, they should sit much better, than on me for example:)

@@mrsmscuriositycabinet6925 thank you! These are wool stockings :) not really, I still like to wear nylon stockings sometimes…
Do you find the garters pull down on the waistband throughout the day?
Lovely video, but the audio is very quiet
Thank you! And thank you for mentioning:) Is it the sound over all, or rather the voice against the music?
@@katerivanovana the sound overall
