I love the desert southwest. The landscape is mind blowing to a guy who grew up and still lives on the east coast. Crashing on the couch in the FBO in some lonely desert airport sounds like heaven to me!
Yeah man. Same here. I love these little quiet airports!
This Chanel is underrated, great content. Would love a Tri Pacer,
Thanks so much! Appreciate it. They really are pretty great planes!
David your videos are getting better and better, congratulations!
Thanks Carlos!
Love this series
Good job......
Thank you!
You do great work. Really enjoy the videos.
Thanks Matt. Appreciate it!
Some awesome footage David. Well put together. I did my mixture cable a few years back as well. Safe flying.
Thanks Vincent. Appreciate it!
Love your videos. I just bought a 57 Tri Pacer 150. Hopefully we can meet up one day.
You ever decide to come out west again, Come over to DVT and hang out. I promise good eats, crash pad, and help with maintenance if you need it. Great video!
Awesome man. I appreciate it. The plan is to do high Sierra in October. Have a good weekend!
Like your channel and awesome flight footage. Question about your Tri-Pacer. When was the fabric last replaced? How long does he fabric last? Looking to buy first plane but have to question 30 year old fabric and if it is worth it. Cost to recover is very very expensive. Thank you and keep up the flying......
Hey Eric. Yeah. Fabric is super expensive. Mine was last done in 1979 but has been hangared since. If done correctly and hangared if will outlive us. That’s awesome. Just take your time and have someone do a good pre buy. Good luck!
I drive by Gila Bend every year and always wanted to fly in there just to get it in the logbook. But never occurred to stay over night. Cool idea, sparse accommodations but that just adds to the adventure. Now I’m really jealous! Enjoy SoCal! I did all of my ASEL training there at KSEE.
Thank you! I really enjoyed KSEE. Great GA airport. Wouldn’t mind one of those house hangars!
@@davidschmaus1 No kidding! The inside of those house hangars are amazingly nice. I worked on the fuel truck (for a discount while flight training) and saw most of them open when filling tanks. Million dollar and up designs. Your videos are great and leading towards an older plane TriPacer/C120/140 or to taildraggers if I can find an available CFI and rental plane in South Ky for the training.
Then he stayed at the hotel California ?
Ditto Kevin’s comments!
All things considered, David, I’d rather be... in a Tri-Pacer! Not Philadelphia! 😁
Do you have another adventurous cross country planned?
Haha. Yes! I’m flying to High Sierra in October. Hopefully the Bahamas but haven’t started planing yet.
That Grapevine airport looked absolutely amazing! Some of those airports out in the middle of nowhere are just true gems. It's truly been an honor to come along on this adventure with you and I look forward to the next one for sure. Thanks for sharing these David.
Thanks Kevin. I was just talking to a pilot friend last night talking about how lucky we are to have access to so many amazing airports. Appreciate you watching again! Almost finished editing the next one which is San Diego coast line flight. It was pretty awesome. Have a good weekend!
@@davidschmaus1 You have a great weekend too brother 😁
Fantastic work, as usual. I'm replacing my mixture cable with a vernier. We'll see how that works once 76D is back up and running. Thanks for keeping me inspired!
That’s on my list of things to do too! Have a great weekend!
Awesome video! Can I ask if you have a filter on the wing mounted camera pointing back at the plane? Which?
Thanks! I do. It’s a ND32 filter by free well.
Very nice look. I'll have to start playing around with some. Thanks!
Gila Bend. The g is pronounced like a H
I loved the low shots over the lake - beautiful! If you're into old cars too - all my videos are here: ua-cam.com/users/Classicandsportscar1
