What a cool little flight and most definitely some beautiful countryside. As always thanks for sharing this with us all and I'll see you in the next one.
LOVE YOUR LITTLE PLANE, MISTER, IT IS AWESOME AND SO ARE YOU! I LOVE TO FLY, BUT I DON'T HAVE A PLANE, LOLOL!! I FOLLOW JUAN BROWN AND 2 OTHERS, I MAY ADD YOU TO MY FOLLOWINGS. SAFE TRAVELS, MATE! GOOD ON YA!
David, that was FABULOUS! You live a charmed aviation life. I am totally envious. Not sure I would have ever tried paramotoring, however. Bring on Part 2, please. 😀
@@davidschmaus1 My wife and I watched your 200 mile paramotor flight videos. Not sure I would have done that even 30 years ago. Very interesting, however. I loaded an offline flight plan into Foreflight from Moraine to Monticello, including the RNAV (GPS) RWY 21 and LPV. It's very educational to listen to your actual approach in the air while I followed along in Foreflight. Love it! Thanks tremendously for doing these videos!
Hi David. I’m an aviation enthusiast and pilot on a long flying Sabattical. ($$) I came across your videos because I like the Tri Pacer; and enjoy watching your videos.......quite adventurous.
Nicely done on the landing. I have flown in that part of Kentucky several times (I am located farther west in Ky) mainly heading to London Ky , a friend of mine flies almost weekly into Wayne County for work.
Good to see you back in the air. I love your Tripacer. As I mentioned some time ago I had a PA-22 Red and White sn 298 built in 1952. I'm a 230 lb guy and wish it had a O-320. Had sooo much fun in it. Keep up the good videos. Al
I really like the old T/P. Highly recommended as a starter plane. I see that paragliding school on Signal Mountain between Dunlap and Chattanooga. I’ve also seen there’s a grass strip outside of Dunlap labeled “Rick Trimble”. I suppose you’d have to go there by car to ask permission to use his strip if need be.
David, I am very happy to have found and subscribed to your channel. My son and I are both working toward our PPL he is planning to continue to commercial. I just purchased a 1961 Colt so watching your videos has really been getting me juiced to get ours back from annual and upgrades. If you ever feel the need to fly into khnb let me know. Would be great to meet you some time.
Lol every time your ptt button sticks I have a minor panic attack. Great video, I haven't flown IFR in almost 2 years now, this makes me want to go get an IPC and start again.
Nice video David. I always fly my tripacer at 2350rpm when I'm one up and get the same fuel usage as you do. With 4 up I find 2400rpm to be a good compromise. Above 2500rpm all you gain is a bit of speed however I find it doesn't warrant the big change that it causes in fuel usage.

Thanks again for watching!

Thanks so much Woody!
Loved the video. My dad taught me and my brother how to fly. He owned a couple of Colts. This video brought back a lot of memories.
Nice airplane and instruments.
Cool, I have flown out of Moraine. Site of the first seaplane base.
Thank you David. Do you have an auto-pilot on the Tri-Pacer?
I'm wondering why you don't guard the throttle on takeoff/landing?

Haha. Thanks friend! As I get older I am trying new things. Although jumping out of a good airplane is not on the list. :)

@@JMOUC265 awesome. I use to do that all the time to before I got my rating.
there is no propeller at the front of you r car. :) You live close to me in KY. Thanks for flying over. I recognize all of these places.

Love your channel and your airplane. The videos are spectacular.

Thank you! My family lives in Wayne country so we go quite often. Its a nice quiet airport!
@@davidschmaus1 Yes it is!

Thanks so much! It seems like that 320 is the sweet spot of power and reliability.
Welcome back David, can't wait to see part two. Did I hear you mention that you're going install new fabric? Gene
Thank you gene. I’m considering a recover. It’s been 41 years. I would do the wings this winter and the fuselage next.
Awesome video and flight man! Your editing gave me some Tucker Gott vibes.
Thanks man. Yeah he does use that faster jump cuts style for sure.
This was a great vlog. Super entertaining, loved the editing (and vintage colour correction?) . You've got a nice aircraft there!
Thank you! It’s a LUT I found that is on the warm side so it definitely looks more vintage.
10:15 That's where I cruise my '57-150 Tripe, tad above 2,300 rpm. Seems like the sweet spot.
I would love to know more about camera setup in a tripacer
I have a 57 Tri-Pacer as well and have been researching what direction to go to make it IFR capable? What avionics do you have installed?

Great video. I’d love to see a GoPro angle that includes you panel/controls. Love that airplane
Thanks Nate! I’m getting ready to pickup another GoPro just for that. Hopefully in the next video or 2.

Hi David, Another great video. I couldn't see any footage of your return from the west coast trip? In the pipeline?
Thanks so much! It sure is. There are two more left in that series. Just wanted to get something quick out while editing. Thanks for watching!

hah. I need to replace it. It's sticking and driving me crazy
Awesome trip,and video
Thank you Eduardo!
Btw we have very similar tastes in vehicles, we love vintage planes and I also drive a Jeep Wrangler!
haha. yep. Love my jeep too!
Checklist...carb heat on??
Couldnt a Pilot request permission to increase altitude enough to be above the cloud cover???

Thanks Vincent. Totally agree with you. I can get close to 7GPH at 2350. At 2500 it’s 9+ A little 5-10kt tail wind sure makes it easier!
First!
Welcome back!
Thanks brother!
Never got oto fly a Tripacer but flew a pacer Heard those things drop like a brick
You want slower, try the 2 place Piper Colt. 108 hp
What’s your plane got for a motor ?
Hey Gary. It’s the 150hp 320
