Ginny was the freindliest of any of the made guys wives . Notice that their kids ( despite Katherine's outburst ) were pretty down to earth and not as entitled or spoiling acting as the other kids in this show . Good parenting I guess
We didn't really see much of their kids to judge. The scenes were very short unlike the Soprano family characters whom we got to see their flaws in depth.
John had the nicest family of any of the mobsters. His love for his wife and girls far surpassed his love for the mafia, and when he died, he died peacefully with all of them by his side mourning him.
The only problem area seemed to be Katherine. Smoking anorexic amongst a family of husky people. Would have been nice to see her get some help because she clearly needed it.

It seems like body image, especially in regards to size, was always a prominent sticking point with her mother. Mama's obviously going to be a big influence on her children. Her own body image issues may have rubbed off on her daughter. A healthy personal self-esteem is important to have when a parent.

I agree with everyone that the sacrimonis are so wholesome in comparison to the sopranos but I feel like there are a lot of underlying issues that the creators gave us a glimpse of in these short scenes. all of the women suffer from some sort of eating disorder. Johnny clearly has no qualms about his wife or Allegra’s weight but I wouldn’t be surprised if Catherine was routinely chastised for being so thin but imo she probably developed the ed to differentiate herself from her overtly dramatic family and the large shadows they cast over her (no pun intended)
I'm a huge fan of vengeful ghost stories and this series of films along side with The Fog, The Ring, Poltergeist, and The Woman In Black are possibly my favorites. I love the idea that the ghosts don't just stop with haunting the people who wronged them in life but also anyone who comes into contact with the time, place, or object they are attached to and that no mater where they go or what they do it will continue to spread and follow them like a plague. (Revenge is a very human emotion and to see it represented by something inhuman and not of this world is really creepy)
It's to show the extremes of their family. The one daughter gorges herself on food like the mother. The other one smokes herself to death and is anorexic. The 'joy' of being in a mafia family. AJ almost kills himself. Eugene's son is a drug addict. Jackie Jr. is murdered. And half of Tony's therapy sessions are him blaming his father for being in the mafia and him being destined for failure.
Why would anyone marry into a family like this? I understand he loves and cares for Allegra, but still; what good can come of this? The father in jail for life, they all smoke, all females suffer from one form of an eating disorder, high tensions, etc.
