Me too. I've been in my car as well, and it's hard at times. Especially the memories of when I grew up learning to cook with my mom, and she would make this once a week. It was so good, I can smell it in my memory. Times have been bleak, and I cry cause I miss my old life. But I hope I can get a new job and it's steady and I won't get laid off again. My mother was from Albuquerque and I remember her making this with the chili from there and it was beyond Picoso!🥵🌶️ But it was so tasty that you got used to the heat. Now, after all those years eating that hot chili from New Mexico I have an ulcer and can't have too spicy foods anymore, but it was worth it.🙏🏻💯

Yes, by using pork loin inplace of beef, you made what is traditionally called chili verde in Mexican restaurants. It's my dad's favorite dish. The Poster here simply used beef.

I use beef for chili Colorado and pork for Verde. In fact, I'm hooked on pork tenderloin, as no fat to trim, timesaver. Also, no potatoes (yet) but I do add hominy (so maybe it's posole?).
This recipe with hamburger meat as well delicious 😋😋 even over white rice perfect if you don't want beans and rice sometimes I switch it up but perfect recipe 😋👍
From my experience, yes. Chile verde is typically done with pork, whereas chile colorado (red chile) is usually done with beef. Honestly though, I think it both meats would be great in either.
I opted out on the Cumin since I don't like the taste of it and I didn't have a tomato. Other than that I followed the recipe and it came out soooo good !!!! Definitely one for the books 🤗
Lose the tomatillos and cilantro, add one small can of el pato or 3 blended roma tomatos, and add about 1 or 2 tbs. Of oregano, add maybe a tbs. Of tomato paste.thats how i make mine.. give it a try!
