People may not know the scene with the pool was a huge thing. The episode was in 1969 and while segregation was illegal, it still happened. Black people weren’t allowed in “white” pools. Sharing the pool, sharing the towel was one of the most low-key snubs to racism. In 1993, the last time the Officer Clemmons character was on the show, Rogers himself dried Clemmons’ feet, an act Clemmons felt was reminiscent of Jesus cleaning the feet of his disciples. The man himself (Francois Clemmons) was also gay, something never addressed on the show, but again Mr. Rogers had no issues sharing a pool, sharing a towel, physically interacting with him in any way. Fred Rogers was a saint.
@@deletiontrap It was more like a mixture of humility and a desire not to elevate basic good deeds to such a lofty height that it seems unattainable. A saint or a hero is an inspiration, but a regular dogooder is a lot more encouraging and actionizing, when you can easily put yourself in his shoes. Or put your feet in his pool, I suppose.
Most shows today just use random situations with vague meanings. But mr Rogers, he tells it straight and relates to it like a family member to kids and parents
This needs to be shown to today's people who don't care about him or arent interested in how wonderful he was, i dont give a damn if they're not interested they need to be forced to hear this, PERIOD!!!!!
@@NJGuy1973 Most today's kids in the United States aren't interested in him nor do they want to be either, it's sickening and unforgivable as well PERIOD!!!!!
Adrian Graphics & Marketing yes. The video you put together shows that regardless of race or disability, that all are still special. Fred Rogers was a great man
How has Mr. Rogers impacted or inspired you in your life or business, and what is your biggest takeaway from this video about Relationships?

He really Is, that's why he is my hero.
Didn't him, his wife, and his show crew say something against calling him a saint?
