- The Sepdiurnal Virus is rapidly changing and the Red Moon Phenomenon now occurs every single night... In this playthrough I'll be spinning a wheel to determine the difficulty each day (aka viral mutation/evolution). Some days will be easy, others will be very hard! And each day there will be a horde night. How long can we last before we're overrun by the undead?!

What about putting blades in the pits that turn on with the doors for the lane?
You're braver than I am when it comes to vehicles & farm plots. I've found that as long as they aren't near the hoard base, the hoard ignores them, hence my craft base and hoard base are always separate buildings.
I've loved doing upward facing dart traps in areas that I know zombies are going to be pathing over, so far (knock on wood) haven't had them trigger a demo blast yet.
How about a dart trap that shoots toward you with a pressure plate at the top of the stairs? Put the dart trap on a pole out in the yard?
And gonna need to start cooking some spaghetti and carrying it, or a stack of good food. Since you are pulling food to fill stamina and health. Steak and potato meals are, I think, the easiest to make, but with that full box of canned food, you shouldn't have a problem mixing up something, just do it in full stacks of 10 when going out now. And I think you could place the dew collectors out on the grounds with a railing fence around them if the inside the base plan doesn't work out

I might has stumbled onto the yellow dot solution this week. I've had it happen several times and it occurred to me that it wasn't that I couldn't find them, but I couldn't get them to spawn. In three POIs where this has happened it's been near a generator (just like in this video). I decided to try destroying the generator. When I did, the last of the Zs spawned in nearby. That has worked all three times. If anyone else has a chance to give it a shot the next time it happens, let us know if it works for you. If nothing else, I'm going to continue to test and confirm.

This is exactly it. I've run into the exact scenario in the Shotgun Messiah. If you watch the video, the room with the yellow dots, he runs by the generator a couple of times. Destroy that and the zombies spawn in.

It’s what I have to do as well. Almost any POI generators + buttons that spawn zombies = a good chance I have to destroy the generators to get all zombies to spawn.

What I find most impressive about this is the fact that your PC took that horde fighting in a level 5 POI AND recording like a CHAMP. GGs man, Great series.
That moment when you see a giant shadow of a deer plasted on the wall of your base at 23:24. I think seeing that was more terrifying than the zombies 🤣
Don't forget that if you destroy the buttons anything that they would have triggered WILL trigger so that hatch would have opened, etc.
Inversely, if you trigger the button and then break the button, the doors they opened will close.
When playing co-op this always happens to us we just carry around the dev tool to insta-destroy any block and we kill any and all generators so we no longer have that issue...
Also, if you want a 'true' trader reward there are tickets that you can get from the cheat menu. These tickets will complete a quest and give rewards. I've used them when I get kicked from a co-op game because of internet.
Just some workarounds so even if the devs decide that yet another system needs an overhaul, or a play-style needs to be nerfed because 'it's too easy', and they never fix these bugs. The game is still playable.

In my experience with a quest “glitch” like that I’ve been able to get it done by going to the beginning and meticulously following the designed path. It’s almost always a spawn trigger that somehow got bypassed, like breaking a door or pipe instead of pushing the button or valve or simply walking into the room from the wrong direction and never crossings through the intended entrance.
Loving these extended episodes. This series is really really good as a build guide AND story. Big fan all round.
Make sure to loot ATMs if you see them. Scrapping old paper money is one of the best ways to get paper
With his better barter so high, it may be more efficient to sell it and buy paper. Cash sells for around 1.2 dukes per dollar, base. For him it's likely closer to 1.4 or so.
Shotgun Messiah clears flake out on me frequently. It's been like that for at least a few alphas. I usually pass on those when the traders offer them.

Even if the fire pipe is destroyed, you can still switch it "off" with the assigned tap which is not far away. ;-) The remaining Z's will be triggered then.
And even if the tap is destroyed a "chunkreset" may fix it if one doesn't fear some debugmode.
This machanic is really anoying. But that's it. You have to press something to spanw the zombies. Not only be there.
Yes, there is a button as soon as you enter that room to the right in the panel that turns the fire off and spawns zombies. Right by where he attacked the initial zombies and red naded. You can see the yellow light in his footage as he is looking around.
Another thing that usually works for me, is destroying generators. That usually spawns the missing zombies. Sometimes you just have to find the correct generator..
Just funny. . . Right before you destroyed your gyro, a wandering horde (khaine mod one that attacks vehicles) blew up my Ansat helicopter. Right after I spent a night and a day mining shale, all of it on the heli. Ironically seeing yours blow up made me feel better. Thanks!

Shotgun Messiah factory makes a good place to fight hordes - it's so huge with a lot of spots you can set up at. Great carnage. Yeah there's over 20 vultures there. They're definitely quest killers. Back before they changed their behavior you could wake most of them up on the street out front.
I liked the PreBuilt style of hoard night and that is so sad about that quest!

I used to adore this game in my childhood and made me so sad it didn’t get updates when I played, but over the years I’ve been tryna save for a pc I’ve noticed they’ve made so so many updates and let me say I’m giddy to when I’ll finally get a pc and get to repay this masterpiece

I've had the same glitch at the same spot myself in the Shotgun Messiah factory! Last zombies will not spawn in if you break that flaming pipe.
I find blade traps are well suited as anti-bird defense. Birds sweep down and get chopped up quick, even if it takes a few passes. Often the blades will last a few hordes before they fail (low upkeep). Requires a flat roof over your fighting position though.
that quest got me once too, you have to destroy the button that turns off the fire to get the zs to spawn. but as much damage as the demos did the button should have been destroyed. So there was probably no fixing it at that point.
Pretty sure the button you missed to turn off the fire (believe it was behind the generator. I got stuck in that same spot yesterday) spawns zombies and that's why the yellow dot was there.

Also, believe it or not, leading cause of death at a gun range is Heart attack. It's why we always take a AED with our group of security officers when we go training.
I can believe it. I went shooting w/ my Ruger .357 one time. A lot if folks target shoot .357 with .38 rounds, since it's cheaper. I was using high grain magnum rounds... *boom* *boom* *boom*.. I shoot my 6 (revolver) and go to reload... guy next lane is just staring at me.

Because I practice with the same thing I load for defense, that way I'm practicing w/ how the gun will act in a real situation.

When you are going to do a rank 5 or 6 mission, always break the generators, there is a bug in the game that does not generate monsters from a certain location, only after destroying the generator. :D
When I personellt experienced this ”bug” a long time ago. I destroyed the big generators to trigger the zombie spawn. Though not sure if it works if other “components” are destroyed, but I rather drill through the big hp pool of those generators then leaving without at least trying it haha

I feel your pain when these quests are just impossible to complete, so frustrating after all that effort. On the other hand, I had to laugh when the gyrocopter was taken down by friendly AA defense. Your gunners might need advanced training. Certainly one of the best episodes so far, great stuff, thanks for the entertainment.
So....here's an idea for next season. You can have a crafting base, no restrictions there. But horde base has to be a PoI of some kind. Your choice...and never the same one again. You can of course use blocks and break things, but you can't prepare a horde base before hand. Just frantic run and gun like this horde night in the PoI.

That was a lot of greens on the 2nd horde night. It's probably a good thing you were stuck outside with 175% block damage on warrior difficulty lol.
I remember one time i went to the shotgun messiah not knowing how huge it was, i spent so much time in it that it rolled over to night, and for whatever reason an endless stream of zombies started rushing me, it was intense. It wasnt even a blood moon, just a ton of zombies coming out of nowhere from within the factory.

There is a switch in that room that is hard to find. It is next to the control panels on the right side of the room when you first enter it, by the rock pile.
I was doing shotgan messiah factory quest few days ago and couldnt find all the zombies too, I think its either bugged or just way to hard to get to every single room in such a building, there should be like 80% clear rule for such big pois or just no clear requierment just fetch and fixing generators for example. Most 5 star pois arent even worth to quest for because its impossible to complete those quests

If I remember correctly the zombies there spawn in when you disable the firetrap as in turn the stopcock to turn off the fire.
I remember zombies not spawning for me, so I just got frustrated and burned/exploded the whole building
Rule 1 cardio max pain tolerance max wink helps with healing factor
Whenever is a clear quest where there's big generators you need to destroy them to make them spawn
Same thing has happened to me every single time I've tried to do a job at that POI. It has issues.

For the dew collector, why not build a roof over it and just cover that place with glass or just wall it up? It works the same way with crops, just need a direct access to the sky above it.
Those where there are buttons are directed to Restore the quest generator, which is why it doesn't work.
Sheets to hide the switches, You can break the switch to activate it as well i believe
The weapon and ammo mods are clean and tidy.lm gonna use them on my next run
when you broke that pipe there was a button you were supposed to push to activate that area and spawn zombies. I'm pretty sure it was on the wall to the right when you entered that room if I remember right.
Don't forget you can just math which tool is faster.
Auger is faster in almost all circumstances. Almost.
If you have an Auger that deals 21 damage at 300 apm, you can just multi them together. If that's higher than your pick (mod both fully) then that's better.
Now for why Auger is almost always better in all circumstances is the mining book perk to instantly mine any ore. Auger hitting 300x a minute procs a ton, literally. It makes mining veins so easy. Heat also only generates on initial click so it's only a magnet if you keep it geld down.

You need to destroy the generator , it sets off random events ,smaller ones usually turn lights on etc , the ones at the drive through, turn on the projector
You know, 33 episodes in, I don't think I've seen a single actual rainstorm.
I had the same issue as you with that POI in that exact same room. There's a button in the room you need to press that spawns the last zombies. Ridiculous.
They need to fix clears so they only require 90% of the zombies killed. This would both make issues like that go away, but people also would have to still be worried that some zombies are left in the POI.
It is so frustrating when the game gives the unhelpful yellow indicator, but very good show in the hoard fight! I know I would have been dead in 60 seconds.
17:32- could you put in a couple of trap doors or shutters on the catwalk outside? You might be able to reach the blade traps with the nailgun 🤔
What about putting an electric garage door with motion sensors on the 3rd floor in the center where the empty strip is? Will need some landing strip but then you can keep it safe inside during the horde. Also, it may look kinda cool.

Pretty much it’s best to destroy every deactivated button in high tier POIs
Tier5 generators after control the groups.. especially in messiah.
Someof the POI's have silly trigger mechanics, and if you happen to accidentaly blow up the trigger, its fubar.
I was wondering is it possible for a world download to be posted? If that's a thing for this game. Would love to play with this sort of build and mods myself.

When POI zombies wander too far from the POI, you get that type of bug where a yellow dot appears in the POI. The only way to get rid of it is to kill all the zombies around the POI and hope that you get the one that wandered off
Even thought the tier 5 POIs are interesting they are far to involved and lack a liner path compared to the tier 4, also the loot is lack luster for the amount of time it takes to clear one. I find myself sticking to tier 4 infested jobs tons off ammo and loot plus you can clear 3 per day.

The ones that wouldn't trigger would have been activated if you clicked the button or turned the valve that turned off the fire, the one you destroyed.
What about scrapping cash instead of magazines for paper? It makes more sense instead of selling it. One ATM and you will have more paper than 100 magazines.

This game is simply amazing... 10 years in, it's so well thought out and polished. Some real strokes of genius there, especially the magical self-opening doors and grates, the groups of zombies teleporting from outer realms into already explored rooms or zombies only spawn if you trigger them by taking a specific path. Really, is there any other game with such amazing features?
