I love these 2 day vids
Agree with you, more of Temreki is always good
real
Absolutely!!!
You yelling ARLENE!!!!! as she bobs and weaves and dodges the spear. That was as real as frustration gets!! Thanks man, cheers cobber.
Awesome 2 day format! Lots of content and excitement. Anyone else see at 50:52 Lumberjack falls down, does a nice 360, and then a zombie levitates upward!! Haunted Fire Station!!
Yeah I saw that. Was one of the zombies that he calls "Peter Pan". :)
On the power issue, my setup is normally: Generator, Battery bank, then start my distribution. I turn off the generator and let the battery bank power everything necessary while I'm out and about during the day. I turn on the generator at night to recharge my batteries. Never did the math or anything behind it, but hey, it works and appears to increase my total output.
I also do my electrical in quadrants and conceal all my connections in protected 'conduits' with access doors at every location with a wire or timer relay. It's time and material intensive but has the advantage of being a one-time setup. Also, install a simple bulb at the end of your circuit, near your activation switch. You can see at a glance if you've lost a quadrant. No bulb = destroyed relay. If you REALLY wanted to get anal about it, you can send a bulb back from EVERY relay in your circuit. That will tell you exactly where your damage is!
I also wire everything where it's accessible from the parapet on the roof. Also, NEVER wire in series! Only parallel (no 'daisy-chaining')! That way, for example, the loss of one blade trap won't compromise everything on that circuit! My redundant (i.e. HOLY S*IT!) systems are a whole new set of nightmares!
I am a bit of a masochist and keep difficulty and damage at maximum all the time and have horde night every three days. My only difference is that I give myself 15 days in the beginning before switching horde night to every three.
I don't know if you read these comments, but if you do, I hope this helps!
Tim: neither of us can hit JACK!
Me going 100% autism: LUMBERJACK!!
22:53 That chicken is still alive and try to get attention as usual, this time with videobombing. 38:16 this video is now about that chicken. Great video again, it got everything!
I was really hoping someone else in the comments would have mentioned the unexpected chicken narrative.
I love base building and the mod selection that you use. The amount of details that goes into your base construction is awesome. Personally watching you doing base rework/construction and then testing with hordenight is by far the best thing to watch. I'm really excited for 1.0 release 🙂
'Today on Better Homes and Horde Bases...' Thanks for the show, Lead & Steel!
The fire station is haunted 😂
That Peter Pan at 48:40 getting raptured mid fall XD
As Peter said, "The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it." (zooms off into the night sky)
This is one of those episodes where we (the viewers) can practically _feel_ the pain that Temreki is experiencing. Just... damn. That's the dangerous power of maxed-out zombie difficulty roulette, I suppose. Here's hoping the next spin will have at least a shred of mercy. Garage is looking nice, though. Can't wait to see the finished product.
You should paint a line by the perimeter fence, so when you are backing up, fighting zombies inside the perimeter, you know to jump over the fence.
I can't wait to see the game play of 1.0
It's the Character models I'm looking forward too :D.
@user-ip6wq7vr7m i wounder if the fixed the gun mechanic on it as will
I’m looking forward to the game being more optimized. Plus the new character models.
I just wanted to say that this series has been super entertaining. Thanks for the content and effort you put for perfection. In another note, to TFP, so much technology and we are still cooking on a freaking campfire!? Make a freaking working oven geeeesh!
Okay no more ranting. GNS for the win!
I really enjoy how "particular" you are about your bases and how they look. I too am sad they often don't have the appropriate blocks to use. Loving the two-day videos as well, so thanks for that lol
That Zombie dodging your shots was hilarious lol
Bless you!
came here to see if anyone else said it lol
Got a real tough draw today. New garage looks great. Your design and building ability is phenomenal! Great job not getting killed or having the hordes level your entire base! 😃
Dude loving this series!! 2 day format is where it's at!! keep this one going as long as possible!
That was INSANE!! Great job! Loving the 2-day format....
You were shown weaknesses of the base, I hope something good will come out of it. Those shapes you fight throught are just plain bad if zombies can crawl to the other side.
He's aware lol
As nice as the grenade shoots have been, they've been even more of a detriment to your safety since cops seem to see it as a way to shoot you.
Also you kept leaving your door open xD
Dude, these vids of yours are just fantastic! Kills to the beat of the music, & the building in general with the explaining what your thinking, it just adds so MUCH to the video as a whole, & Would have never thought of using the garage door for the bridge. Great idea!!
This base and this episode made me nostalgic for the Vanguard series. That base and the Vanguard 2.0 base shared a lot of these features.
6:00 ...yep, looks my kind of aiming. I started going for body shots because of the up close head weaving.
53:00 you may want to install an EFP wire along the fighting wall. A single one you can repair should work wonders in reducing block damage.
i really love how Tem makes his bases and make them looks like yours is a simple crap of rocks
I’m using the same set up as you as you have great ideas for horde bases. On the circular counter tops, on the outside of the bottom one use the baluster rail you showed me. It helps keep them out and doesn’t seem to cause issue, I rotated mine so the rails were vertical.
1st horde - I am terrified random cop/vulture spitball collapse your garage and waste those powered doors!
*whew*
I recently got into this game, I’ve owned it since for ever and since I heard the 1.0 is coming out for console I got back into it in my ps5 and I’m loving it as much as I’m loving this series!
I'm honestly super impressed that you're still alive Tem! Long may it continue! Well, until 1.0 streamer weekend at the latest I'm sure
Wow that garage door trick looks really cool.
Will try to implement it in my next build for sure!
Wow, brutal.
Maybe a stun baton with repulsor mod could help to regulate the flow of zombies for quick repairs.
I would go back with a traditionnal scafolding ladder at fighting position 😅.
In regards to those zombies outside that were acting like there was an invisible wall between them and you. It's possible that there's a tunnel under the concrete road that the zombies think is a hole they can't get across, just a thought. Loving the longer videos by the way perfect length to watch while I'm having lunch.
38:18 That chicken wanted to get there to see your talent and vision.
For the garage: You can add the round piece (I forget what it is called) that you used for the electric fence boxes to round out the inside corners of the support pillars, and you'd get extra support then too.
And maybe put a layer of full cube blocks under the fighting position floor to stop cops. And you should just go for the full cube blocks by the fighting position. I'm hoping 1.0 fixes the cops.
You need two or 3 generators for your garage that way they don’t over loud what you already have
you could also build a smaller wall around your base and also a little pit with elektric fences and/or spikes, so you can kill the first wave of zombies "outside" that would look really nice, and it would take some dmg away from your base
@GNS
I have been benching this series for the past 3 days, so sorry for the spam of likes. Dude, I love your playstyle and content creation. Keep it up, new fan here!
As a sidenote, no shortage of meat around you ever. There are always a ton of bunnies and chickens traipsing around your home.
Next time, build the garage over the entire road, and integrate the electrical fence posts into the garage columns. That would have been sweet.
Thanks for sharing your content.
I think we're at the twilight of this series. I don't know when GNS usually ends a series, although I know he usually decides to make a big show of it. Maybe it's like a hardcore run, an "until he dies" situation. In which case, I don't think there's gonna be many episodes left. It's gone beyond nail biting now. Love watching it though.
That is true but he said this'll run until 1.0 releases so I'm guessing at least two more weeks. Personally I'm excited for what he has planned for 1.0, especially modded playthroughs!
Bless you sir
Love that garage door idea!
You know, if you line up the supports properly on that one side of the garage you could probably use the same blocks you used to keep the zombies from tunnelling through the walls of the fighting position (that 1m plate x 2 block ? ) underneath to keep the electric fence post entrance open for repairs and just keep it in general. It looks like the one covering is like right where you need to put the support for the flat blocks on the other side of the garage door. I'm probably not making sense and I"m not done with the video so you probably changed it already but it probably could have been kept : O
Shout out the bravest chicken!!
5:55 Was like Muhammad Ali dodging 21 punches from Michael Dokes XD
I have watched every episode of this series since u started it keep going on this series .. please
Okay, I love the garage
I have a great idea for a series you could do. First of all use as always difficult or the most difficult presets. Then you have to change the base after every Horde night. Additionally you could establish the rule, that you must go into the next biome after a Horde night. After four Horde nights you must have had a Horde night in every existing biomes that there is.
31:05 - "I'm a lumberjack and I'm not okay..." 😀
IT IS THE HATCH the cop is spitting at
On Healing Factor it does state that it won't work if you're starving or if you have no water though, so I think it's supposed to be implied...that stated, I do agree that they need to outright say it.
unless you have already stripped them, there is a Pass-n-gass and an A1 near where you showed up outside of Diersville
6:25 bless you
I love the tracks for the garage door, but I’m worried they will provide paths for the zombies and negate the drawbridge function.
love the 2 day treats that u give us. Your nice "aesthetic" tracks that you put in for the doors bugs me because now u gave them a way up to ur base by having them run up the ramps then beat on the doors using to nice tracks that you put in. I know that you liked to glass on the top of the garage and it is nice but wouldn't make more sense to make it flat and make that the new gryo runway rather than try to make it work over the spot where the birds go to try and get you. the doors r super cool. i was super nervous that the garage was going to fall or u were going to punch a hole in ur base shooting the bird lol but overall i think it will work just fine.
Since you are using your backup lanes as a way to distract the zombies for you to repair the main lane. You could make some changes to make the zombies fall faster on a backup lane? Something like a sledge turret or the path itself makes them auto-fall instead of reaching the fighting position?
I think that a sledge would make zombies fall if they reach the wall.
Love this series so far, just bought the game myself a couple of weeks ago and you helped out a lot. One thing tho, I made my base at this spot too after you video launched, after just 7 days zombies go trough my holes aswell, might be the holes not be the best thing ever with clipping tho.
When i tried to make a jump ramp into an elevated garage the zombies just jumped across the gap :( That was in Alpha 20 however.
When your done do what Jawoodle often does and fill the building with fuel barrels then light the fuse!
If that Zombie wasn’t killed after having the 5 shotgun blasts right by his head, he would have needed serious medical help from the concussive blasts and his hearing would have been permanently damaged and completely gone.
I love build days
Those 'round hole plates' have a little lip on them, maybe that made them crawl and or jump to upper hole and crawl.
Love these longer videos. You should have opened the wall up from the work room to the garage do you aren't so cramped.
A16.4 for life.
a turret would help on one side by you probably :P
I've had luck using rollup doors for cop shields so they can't see me... you could try those
Insane nightmare headshot only! The things a person will do for content.. normally id only play that if i was trying to make my friend complain all night 😅
I think you could put sledge turrets to good use. Minimise the amount getting through to where you are
You have access to the garage roof from the main building. Not sure why you didnt move the gyro to the garage roof. Moves it out of the turret fire and even if a bird paths from that side its lower than the turrets so its not as likely to get shot up.
OMG! That was EXTREME!
You can do Z road to fighting position and put dart traps behind zombies
Bro its 7 days to die not house flipper xD. Jk great video cant wait for the next one
Switch the railings to the inside so the dew collectors fit, ta da, I is clever.
I was wondering can you put down wooden spikes down out side of your Electric fence it will help but not much but it will let you know if your getting a zombie horde or just a screamer even if it’s head shot only them breaking the spikes will let you know but so will chickens and rabbits but rabbits will scream when they die but food is food 🍱
Have you ever looked into the smooth pathing mod? Instead of movement like chess pieces, zombies will move like you do. It's a more predictable and natural pattern.
23:18 it's because its a costum block, blocks are not "shootthrough" normally, so zombies wouldn't care before trying to break it; if it was a Door-registry, instead off a block; they would behave differently; but honestly would like them to not attempt attacking blocks but go for doors directly; and if there is no doors, no way in, they should scream in a lot off explosive ones which just blow up on the walls untill there is an entrence in.
but yer, a lot off changes to mod such things :P
same issue with the thin walkways; they regits as an actual walkable path, but they shouldn't be (unless a master off movement even a high trained human couldn't move on them, much less a low agility zombie with no thought about falling).
to me it becomes silly so fast because it's cheese that only works because faulty mechanics, or badly thought out mechanics in the game, stuff i would change the behaviour and functions towards if i was designing it :)
a thing we never see in any zombie scenario which would be an absolute "we win" vs. even millions off zombies;
is the steel wire attached head height, then mid height then low height.
zombies would literally decapitated themselves and eachother running through, pushing through it; and no amount off flesh and bones cut over would break it.
same can be achieved easily by a 1cm steel plate, attached in the same heights, would function the same; basically like a blade they push eachother against which will holdout against near unlimited amount off zombies getting pushed through it...
honestly the only danger off zombies rl consideration is dependent on how the virus is spread (or being crushed/downed in zombies when forced to leave safety off your fortified position; but even there setting up a steel wire between 2 walls is ridiculessly easy, allow humans to pass them easily and prevent an untold amount off zombies from pushing through without suiciding on it)...
as flesh, bones and blood, no matter the amount won't stand up to any kind off modern designed setup which is using the zombies own momentum and pushing force to cut them up...
such thoughts demotivates me a ton in such games, because the game premise is all dependent on the humans being absolutely braindead dumb or mechanics preventing use off any efficient methods...
... sigh, stupid brain making it impossible for me to ignore such things :/
Definitely time to roll out the M60, the L96 just can't put enough rounds down range.
There's possibly also a case for carrying a good pistol for when they break through and suddenly you're dancing cheek-to-cheek with a zombie. Or alternatively set up a shotgun turret oriented to fire inside the fighting position to cover your back.
To be honest the donut holes just aren't cutting it anymore. I think too many zombies are piling up against it and pushing themselves through. I don't know much about these things so it's just a guess!
Alright, now we know that the horde at its maximum difficulty is not sustainable. You can manage to hold them off for probably 2-3 nights, but you end up burning through too many resources for safety if this becomes your new normal. I can't say that's good news, but a realistic appraisal of the challenge one is facing is always valuable.
He knows lol He's not exactly a noob is he. He's making interesting content, not a typical uninteresting bunker.
Nice
40:17- Could you center the GNS logo in the blank space that it's in? Maybe put another on the north and south sides of the gaeage, just for funsies 😅
The floor of the loot room is still wood.
We all have bad days... no need to be embarrassed
Will the dew collectors work with the glass over your garage? May want to chect on that.
👏👏👏
Zombies won't be able to just walk across those door tracks? I probably missed something lol
You're not Picasso. You're not a cubist.
As soon as I saw the insane nightmare 300% block damage all extras I knew this was gonna be ugly. But wow, to just tear through steel that easily. That block damage is truly insane. Time to install the titanium from darkness falls and hope upgrading your base to that will let your paths tank a while hit or two. :p
The problem now is the world is already generated so he wouldn’t be able to mine any, he’d have to buy it from the trader
@@jaydunbar7538 Yeah i know he cant do it, it would just be funny if he could. And was more meant as a statement to how batspit insane 300% block damage on insane difficulty is.
The fact that the cops can see through most of the blocks is extremely annoying. I've known about this problem for a while now. I hope this is fixed in 1.0.
You gotta deal with zombies on Resident Evil mode AND high pollen? You got it rough.
if you study old castle design it should work amazingly against zombies here ^^
did a noobish built in a castle style and it held up pretty impressively; which is to be expected as most castles where never defeated even with siege weapons; ofc humans couldn't just headbutt their way through a wall, but honestly in this game it's more a question off "buying time" which thick walls etc. does a great job at ^^
while it's cheesy; an optimal way would be to built all production on a skyscraper where you block off all access not done by flying;
then make a small superbunker built which you go to at night near it to camp out and outwait the bloodmoon; zombies ignores bases you are not at, which opens a various amount off easy cheese;
.
wonder how one would change that in code and not have it be super aggrevating, still fun-lism(realism within fun parameters ;P doesnt have a word for it).
i want to change most off the game machanics , so it feels more like what you would expect while keeping a reasonable challenge lvl and still in a fun way; just kinda hard figuring out what the best way that is possible engine wise and performance wise is :P ^^
as mentioned; i want to change a lot bc i find basic too easy to cheese;
examples; if you want an actual base
1. go desert, find oil, do a straight hole, block it with some stone blocks; mine half a day, get roughly 60.000+ fuel, will hold you over for more than a week off high usage.
2. do the same with coal+lead. =have tens off thousinds off bullets produced.
3. have 4+ forges running for cement+bullets.
4. have 3 cerment drums running all the time.
5. have 4 workbenches running ammo.
6. two alchemy table's running gunpowder.
7. take 1 bucket off water to 1 square, use helmet attachment filter, never need water again drink from here forever; overdrink each day for 240+ sec at start, forget about water for a looong time.
8. dig tranches around 3 block deep, 3-5 circles with a ramp for each going back to starting position. fill the wholes made by zombies with anything, stone is easy bc you have way too much and it deter most zombies making it last long. but even with holes in tranches it does what it should (wasted zombie dps time).
9. make a 3-4 block thick high tower with a single block in middle ladder going highigh up; start 2-3 food-fires in entrance (low tree cost, free fire starter to all zombies moving over them; zombies won't attack them; as they don't block or count as traps etc. you could technically do a roung stairway with fires all the way up; while it would be a bit costly in wood it could properly auto-defend unlimited numbers off strongest zombies by simply burning them as they move over.
etc.
another method is just using buildings after clearing; make the top unaccessible hide a gyocopter in a woodframe on roof with a double door;
wait untill zombies have destroyed their way up the building, which can take an entire bloodmoon, or more for some houses; then take the gyro to the next house; rinse and repeat (no need wasting ammo, materials defending it when you can easily avoid it; it takes a long time for flyers to attack your gyro especially if you clear the sky before taking off; can easily fly the distance off half a city;
another method you can also just fly untill the flyers are about to hit you, quick land, kill them, and take off again; like that you can hold out the bloodmoon at minimum resource losses;)
another method is to use the mines when you dig resources, dig deep; fill the entrence with blocks; dig in 1 direction and keep filling your back with blocks; if you dig in stone lvl you gain more stone than you use, and you can make stone blocks directly without workshops etc.zombies will try to dig in from the sides but your auger digs far faster 2 blocks than them; even with big hordes, so your position keeps changing, as such they will never get to you; you will gain a ton off stoneblocks from doing so and while it cost you a lot off gasoline, harvesting for just 2-3 hours off a day on oil will easily cover it; rinse and repeat forever.
again as zombies only attack your position you can easily setup a safespot for alchemy benches to convert oil to gasoline.
etc.
there is so many ways to avoid zombies completely or to cheese them into uselessness that doing it ineffectively by giving them large bases to grind through seems suboptimal at best...
it also just feels really bad to see zombies made off flesh literally hit their way through stone or steel; seems so ridiculess; and all the work having to rebuilt everytime just feels demotivating.
why i want to change most mechanics to still have it fun but avoid all the cheese being far more optimal than trying to built up an actual sustainable base :P
Good work going on there in that cool base. Say, you have dozens of steroids, why not take one when you have a broken leg or arm?
Make some lanterns for fuel saving/power needs. It won't be much but they are easy to make and replace.
He has lanterns or at least did, he took them down because he prefers the brighter light from the spotlights.
@@jaydunbar7538 They are pretty bright (the lanterns) but I was mostly thinking of his power drain from all his lights and traps.
For the grenade shoots what if you had them behind your fighting position like 2 blocks away from the where you stand to fight and the 2 blocks behind that is the hatch for grenades
Look around your area for terrain you had dug up which came back -- it's acting like you have a bad terrain block. It messes a lot of things up. You have to find it and then can put a couple of blocks down where it's doing that and that will fix it. All it takes is one block of terrain. I had that happen about 4 times but it was right next to my base so I could fix it.
Like remember how sometimes you'd enter a building and it'd be all blocks of black marble? Was a glitch - it's like that same kind of thing only it's doing that with terrain. So you could have had a cop blow up some terrain in a POI and that'll mess up your entire game if it bugs a chunk of terrain.
When you first start up the game really quickly turn on the console so you can see if it's tossing up a lot of red script.
🔥random buttttt I know 1.0 is coming out so soon, but if you get a chance please check out the Afterlife mod that's on the mod launcher. IT👏IS👏 INCREDIBLE👏 there is a vitality meter that changes based on decor, wants (like alcohol), napping (standing on a bed), etc. you can also go crazy and think the zombies are talking to you (scared the crap out of me). My local trader was destroyed 😅 water is 100x harder to get. I think there is an ongoing z-virus but I haven't made the test kit yet to check. It's so good so far and the developers worked SO HARD on that you can tell!
Do cops and other spitter still shoot through half blocks? That was always a pain and made me never want to use them again. 💜
The zombies been dodging you in most ridiculous ways today
Its the speed, nightmare speed kinda bugs them out a bit where it goes full matrix on us as the graphics try to keep up with the boosted speed.
This is what happens when you prefer form over function
It’s kinda his thing, and to be fair if you go strictly form you end up board and hating the game like IzPrebuilt. I know as I’ve played the game I’ve put more time and effort into things that dont strictly matter or using less efficient builds just to change things up.
