I'm 99% sure incursions and the rest of p3 was filler content that was initially scrapped. I guess their plan was to have it in an earlier phase, I think it was supposed to fill the gap and slow questing that vanilla wow struggles with. It was most likely ment for Duskwood and Ashenvale without added XP buff. *It also fits the timeline pre cata release, they had no more time after being informed that cata needed devs and more work. They threw in feralas and hinter last minute without testing it throughly , resulting in way too high XP and gold reward since it was designed for 20-30lvl without the gold buff. It does not make sense to put incursion at lvl 60, or p1-p2 for that matter. And since the assets was already created, it got used when their dev team was informed that they had to take a break and work on cata to get it ready for launch. This also explains why it got pushed back. They will spend some more time to gather data from p3 and release it when it's ready. The fact SOD even exist under the leadership at blizzard is very unexpected. It's better to wait now, instead of releasing a half-baked version of p4. They know that p3 content sucks. But, I think they had to make a choice/ultimatum. lvl 60 content is what everyone is waiting for. So it makes sens to spend the most time to work on it.

My suspicion [and please feel free to contest it if you don't agree] is that the dev team were not expecting, or at the very least did not account for, such a large growth of popularity with SoD. So much in fact, that their SoD team encountered what's called project creep. The scope of the work required to keep the booming playerbase from P1&P2 conflicted with the launch of Cata and, ultimately, with the launch of War Within. The dev team is spread a bit too thin between so many work streams, that it's not helping them at all make the right decisions.
Warriors don't need a nerf ffs. Most those parses are just stunted by recklessness popping. Take a second to look at fights without reck and you'll notice damage is lackluster.
If warrior receive nerfs, blizzard themselves dont understand the game. Warriors are only on top of this dps chart because of recklesness which is a long CD and is so rarely seen in pvp because of it + its basicly execute phase cheese damage and nothing but parses. Dont take the last thing from warrior because the class is just dogshit otherwise

People complaining about all these different versions when no one’s making you play plunderstorm and remix when plunderstorm came out at the end of S3 when retail players had nothing to do and remix came out during a recycled phase while people wait for the war within. They have a small team working on classic and Cata makes them more money. Clients that have a cash shop will always take priority regardless of what you think.

Now that we know, that this will last 2 more mounths, all of us will go and play other games (not cata) and I can garantee, that half of the people wont come back. I tried Turtle wow last year, can't deal with it sadly. The game and content are very good and attractive But the old launcher and game version is just a turn off haha .. It's the old API version too, like you want to do macros ? good luck mate You want to install an addon and do a cool interface ? good luck mate I would have never play sod or Era if turtle wow had a recent launcher but it is what it is
I figure out the runes in SoD are same as spells in Cata. When i start playing SoD i believed these spells was new and SoD only. So SoD are closer to retail than classic.
Most runes are spells from Wrath. And no SOD isn't even remotely close to Retail lol Cata is a mid point between classic and retail but what makes retail retail isn't the skills alone. First in retail every class has 30 more abilities than in SOD and second there's more to it. There's more balance, casters don't need to worry about going oom after 10 seconds, healers can actually heal.
SoD raids should drop a lot more loot if we're going to have a new phase every 3-4 months. Running it once a week just isn't cutting it with each boss dropping 4-5 items.
I welcome this news. I want phase 4 to take a little bit longer to come out because I still need to level some alts as well as I don't mind taking a break to do other things
It’s not rocket science that blizz intend for SoD was to drag people into subscription. Adding positive numbers to quarterly report. While in SoD phase 1 and 2 was given the most attention from the devs. Phase 3 came and it was garbage since they never put effort into it. All energy was now on cats. Now we had silence for two months………………. People started to drop out in big numbers. Some went to cats pre patch. All of a sudden blizzard anon ed that they will give this and that to SoD. But phase4 will be late. Like really late. And that’s because they never had a phase 4 ready hahah. Blizzard did a hit and run. Cash grab for players to re sub in November last year. Letting them sub for 4 months while they totally changed focus. Biz tricked the players and no one is talking about it hahah
Blizzard should just let us Level to 60 but lock MC/ONY. Let us go out in the world, clear dungeons for pre-raid bis and level our alts to 60 in prep for Raid drop. It would add more hype for MC, give us something to do and keep people playing the game.
And would also allow the more casual sod players to level their characters to 60 in time for MC to release. A massive Global release of Molten Core with all of the playerbase chomping at the bits, already max level. Sounds incredible. Please Blizzard, listen to your fanbase!
How do you think they do Sulfuron Ingots? They are currently 33% drops off one boss in MC and you need 8. This "doesn't work" for the time frame of MC, especially with BWL right around the corner.
I predicted this in the end if phase 1... Blizzard is so bad at Classic game design it's just sad... I'm glad I went back to Hardcore and later Classic Era. People don't know what makes Classic....Classic, even if I shove it up their face.
Every single item is like this, hunters bis back from preraid is 1 agi, engin bracers from wsg, 1 agi, most of items are such changes but some give you more stamina more offstats or even less stamina, we have to remember that this will be level up content once we hit 60 so people will probably get one of all those similar items while leveling up, also all those 1 1 1 stats can be stacked and your full bis gear will give you something like 20 more ap and -20 stam, which will make you pump a liiiitle bit more but also risk dieing, personally i see it as great gaming design, they dont design all phases like its the last, and sure those items stats and looks are 5 0 AND vanilla

@@Cappa-WoW 4 bgs going on in peak hours begs to differ, cant get a dungeon group, cant even get a group for incursions to level anymore lol you can literally see the amount of people halve each day over the last week, there was 10 people in ironforge at like 830pm on my server which had 14k people on it at the start what would you call that? Its been a 1 faction game since the second week of the pvp nerfs (which all the sooks on the forums said we all wanted, now the nerf is permanent even they arent playing anymore lol ofc), only people still playing now are all the shamans because its the first time they have ever been "good" at wow they dont want to give it up. Copium, phase 4 will bring people back some for a few weeks but a lot wont bother, since blizz is "allowing cata to breath", that action alone is going to steal heaps of people away from returning. This has been a mishandled train wreck from the start, devs listened to the wrong people again , it was meant to be a game for the casual dads but instead they catered to the zoomer raid loggers who have to have everything there way and now its a piece of garbage no one wants to play. no surprises there.

Lmao this is not how that works. They have to tune everything around those stats which tuning all thr raids and all the dungeons already takes a lot of time you want to just keep juicing numbers up to TBC levels when that’s not their intention. They over did it on the stays in BFD and Gnomer wanting to make it rewarding not anticipating this.
The fact that they went ahead and did Cata classic makes me not wanna jump into SoD again.. as long as the two exist both versions will be lackluster and not being put enough work and recources into.

They straight destroyed bg's and that is enough for me to not bother returning, I am just sticking to cata no matter what! They finally got bg's right, the gear was perfect and made it one of the best bg experiences I have ever had then out of nowhere they nerfed it 50% and since it has completely sucked. The main problem was that players were not willing to spend the 2 days it took me to grind max rating to get the gear so they cried and complained but that gear made it perfect. SOD was a massive roller coaster I am not willing to ride again
Was hyped for P3 but I never played. I was on vacation came back a few days late. Everyone level 50 with a 1000G and nerfed incursions for everyone else. Made me frustrated i didn’t want to play and decided to wait for P4. At this point i stopped my sub and decided not to come back - maybe they will do Classic+ properly some day
The problem is that the design of P3 leads players to only farm WO in Mara & SK. Instead its design should incentivize to go farm all dungeons & engage with the open world. The content is there - people just dont engage with it. How this could be achieved (hopefully at least in P4): -Put Incursion quests on a daily CD but with more XP -Increase non-incursion quest XP gain significantly with explorers delight -Increase flight speed by 50% and reduce hearthstone CD to 30 min -Put more interesting loot in dungeons & in the Open World
Honestly, the bosses that need it are the ones that are always skipped like half of BFD and most of Mara. one idea would be is to put the hand of justice/sgc/etc on other bosses in the dungeon's loot tables so it would be worth doing them.
classic players arent going to play these other version though, wait like 2 months cata will be dead the hype is all fake, even with the massive downturn in sod there is still almost twice as many people raiding sod than wrath/cata right now lol cata is not classic it has wow tokens and a cash shop and retail is an absolute no go. I stopped playing sod. It's so bad. The reason it dies is 20 man raids. Takes too long to fill. Also they need to merge servers. They do this bullsh every time. The game is not fun on empty servers. Wotlk died because of that too. Didn't even bother playing phase 4 wotlk. Only active server was gehennas horde. All other servers were dead af. But I think they'll never give af.
They are literally throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. MOP Remix is basically a cross between SOD and Diablo. I really think they will give up on SOD and shut it down until they release SOD Season of Diablo.
It's insane how bad this phase is, im classic andy, i will always be hyped about classic versions of this game but there is simply nothing to do right now, one new BG with no stupid dmg nerfs(unless a light ones for some classes) would be insane, maybe one new dungeon with rare loot and new quests... Like anything, all we discovery are runes being literally nothing new to us cos they are copy of tbc+ talents, beside that and raid there is no discovery at all
get both STV mounts , get exalted with AB / WSG , farm libram enchants for ur gear , farm OS Sets , do world pvp , stock up on gold , make alts , level up professions on theese alts . There's alot of stuff too do .

This is the first week I have not logged on SOD. Balance is a mess, Runes suck to get on a new character and loot sucks p3. If you aren't a warrior, feral or hunter good luck on raid spot.
Ill say one thing though. Casters do well in PvP but suck in PvE. Buffing caster gear's offensive stats is NOT the way to go and that should be clear to anyone on the SoD team. It worries me that this doesnt seem to be the case. There are plenty of ways to increase casters performance in PvE from a redesign of abilities and whole specs which is admittedly complicated and hard to do, to simply bringing casters available consumeables and temporary class synergies up to the level of melees in raids. That would not continue the cycle of imbalance in PvE vs PvP cycle, but for some reason that eludes my perception, this fix that seems to me both simple AND not difficult to implement, NEVER comes up.
not all casters lol mages are absolute dogshit right now a full 3s cast frostfire bolt does 400 damage and pretty much every other class can full kill you in that time, the only thing they have is deep freeze 6s stun but mages so weak u cant kill any class in 6 seconds so mage loses to every class in the game in pvp. the classes mages are supposed to be good against rock paper scissors just dominate them now, right now they are worst pvp class in the game by a big margin imo
@@Yams42279 Mage has the issue of 150% additional crit scaling. That will force Blizzard t o balance everything around a value that is like 25% in the open world at beast and 70% in raids. If you crit, you are blasting. If you dont, you deal absolutely no damage. That is not fun, that is not good design. Obviously theres talents to balance this out, but I think the general focus on very high crit multiplier and somewhat low base dmg is not working well in the present setting. But I wouldnt agree that mage looses to every class in the game and you dont have to be a multi glad to beat roughly half the other classes out there. Perhaps more, perhaps less.
@@Rakschas666 i disagree even on a crit with ffb you do around 1/3 of someone's health and thats a 3s hard cast that you cant even really get off in pvp. They lose to every single class 1v1, warriors and rogues are the classes we are supposed to be good against but mage just insta loses to them right now go ask any rogue or warrior if they are afraid of p3 mage. What class can mage beat right now and even have it be a close fight cuz the answer is none of them lol I have a mage and a boomkin and the difference is astronomical

To be honest, I think a time to kill of 10 seconds makes for a far better and fun game than a killtime of 5 or so. And mage is, although mobile, extremely squishy. Against some classes thats fine, against others it isnt. That being said, theres just a few classes/specs that feel extremely oppressive to most others. On the classes I play most rogues are straight up death. An undead rogue is not beatable. Every action I can take has an immediate and obvious counterplay and the fights hardly ever go past the 7.5 second mark. Despite that, I cant say with certainty that this is the case on all classes/specs, because theres many I dont have first hand experience with.
If I play 1 char, sure not a lot to do. I quit because there is too much I need to do to make gold (as I suck at making gold) and its mostly boring stuff.

I dont know why everyone is crying. I am loving that everyone quitting this phase. It just means that i have a monopoly to farm all the stuff in the world. This phase i have farmed up and have in stock a bit over 300 arcane crystals and 86 arcanite bars. And 27k gold. Went from 8k in phase 2 and with inflated prices made 19k easy this phase able to farm well over 300g/hr easily
farming so much golds in sod is the most useless thing to do, what will you do with these golds mate ? Alchemy have procs, consums for raid will be very cheap to obtain My head ...

I understand no content creator wants to piss off the developers, but you guys have the ability to push Blizzard in ways the players can't. I'd love it if your videos were a little bit more honest and direct. SoD is in a terrible state. P3 is a disaster. From pvp, to loot, to incursions, the retail developers have really hurt the classic content, and that's before we even mention class mechanics or class balance. The P4 announcement is weak and non defined, about the only thing they are clear about is that Cata is more important. I think every player was waiting for good news, some sign that the developers cared about SoD and wanted to fix the horrible downswing they have put it on. This announcement was not it, and will likely push even more players into leaving.

i really really hate world buffs, that's the only thing i hated about classic. I'm ok with 1 world buff you can get from major city plus flask and potions thats it. I was hoping they get rid of things like songflower, but they didn't, i nvr wanted to waste time on songflower, dm buff all those crap ever again. So i stop playing sod. Plus the loot from raid is almost irrelevant. I sim it and most of my dps comes from world buffs lol, purple bis weapon only gives like 50 dps increase while world buff doubles my dmg lmfao, i really hate that, that's very dumb.

I figure out the runes in SoD are same as spells in Cata. When i start playing SoD i believed these spells was new and SoD only. So SoD are closer to retail than classic.
Most runes are spells from Wrath. And no SOD isn't even remotely close to Retail lol Cata is a mid point between classic and retail but what makes retail retail isn't the skills alone. First in retail every class has 30 more abilities than in SOD and second there's more to it. There's more balance, casters don't need to worry about going oom after 10 seconds, healers can actually heal.
this is a new level of "get people to subscribe to wow, leech them and abandon them when max profit has reached"
SoD raids should drop a lot more loot if we're going to have a new phase every 3-4 months. Running it once a week just isn't cutting it with each boss dropping 4-5 items.
I welcome this news. I want phase 4 to take a little bit longer to come out because I still need to level some alts as well as I don't mind taking a break to do other things
It’s not rocket science that blizz intend for SoD was to drag people into subscription. Adding positive numbers to quarterly report.
While in SoD phase 1 and 2 was given the most attention from the devs. Phase 3 came and it was garbage since they never put effort into it. All energy was now on cats.

People started to drop out in big numbers. Some went to cats pre patch.
All of a sudden blizzard anon ed that they will give this and that to SoD. But phase4 will be late. Like really late. And that’s because they never had a phase 4 ready hahah.
Blizzard did a hit and run. Cash grab for players to re sub in November last year. Letting them sub for 4 months while they totally changed focus.
Biz tricked the players and no one is talking about it hahah
Blizzard should just let us Level to 60 but lock MC/ONY. Let us go out in the world, clear dungeons for pre-raid bis and level our alts to 60 in prep for Raid drop. It would add more hype for MC, give us something to do and keep people playing the game.
And would also allow the more casual sod players to level their characters to 60 in time for MC to release. A massive Global release of Molten Core with all of the playerbase chomping at the bits, already max level. Sounds incredible. Please Blizzard, listen to your fanbase!

How do you think they do Sulfuron Ingots? They are currently 33% drops off one boss in MC and you need 8. This "doesn't work" for the time frame of MC, especially with BWL right around the corner.

Every single item is like this, hunters bis back from preraid is 1 agi, engin bracers from wsg, 1 agi, most of items are such changes but some give you more stamina more offstats or even less stamina, we have to remember that this will be level up content once we hit 60 so people will probably get one of all those similar items while leveling up, also all those 1 1 1 stats can be stacked and your full bis gear will give you something like 20 more ap and -20 stam, which will make you pump a liiiitle bit more but also risk dieing, personally i see it as great gaming design, they dont design all phases like its the last, and sure those items stats and looks are 5 0 AND vanilla

if P3 is gonna be long they need to buff the ST loot drops. There are so many pieces that are barely better than gnomer gear(including epic weapons)

@@Cappa-WoW 4 bgs going on in peak hours begs to differ, cant get a dungeon group, cant even get a group for incursions to level anymore lol you can literally see the amount of people halve each day over the last week, there was 10 people in ironforge at like 830pm on my server which had 14k people on it at the start what would you call that? Its been a 1 faction game since the second week of the pvp nerfs (which all the sooks on the forums said we all wanted, now the nerf is permanent even they arent playing anymore lol ofc), only people still playing now are all the shamans because its the first time they have ever been "good" at wow they dont want to give it up. Copium, phase 4 will bring people back some for a few weeks but a lot wont bother, since blizz is "allowing cata to breath", that action alone is going to steal heaps of people away from returning. This has been a mishandled train wreck from the start, devs listened to the wrong people again , it was meant to be a game for the casual dads but instead they catered to the zoomer raid loggers who have to have everything there way and now its a piece of garbage no one wants to play. no surprises there.

They have to tune everything around those stats which tuning all thr raids and all the dungeons already takes a lot of time you want to just keep juicing numbers up to TBC levels when that’s not their intention. They over did it on the stays in BFD and Gnomer wanting to make it rewarding not anticipating this.

They straight destroyed bg's and that is enough for me to not bother returning, I am just sticking to cata no matter what! They finally got bg's right, the gear was perfect and made it one of the best bg experiences I have ever had then out of nowhere they nerfed it 50% and since it has completely sucked. The main problem was that players were not willing to spend the 2 days it took me to grind max rating to get the gear so they cried and complained but that gear made it perfect. SOD was a massive roller coaster I am not willing to ride again

Was hyped for P3 but I never played. I was on vacation came back a few days late. Everyone level 50 with a 1000G and nerfed incursions for everyone else. Made me frustrated i didn’t want to play and decided to wait for P4. At this point i stopped my sub and decided not to come back - maybe they will do Classic+ properly some day
The problem is that the design of P3 leads players to only farm WO in Mara & SK. Instead its design should incentivize to go farm all dungeons & engage with the open world. The content is there - people just dont engage with it.
How this could be achieved (hopefully at least in P4):
-Put Incursion quests on a daily CD but with more XP
-Increase non-incursion quest XP gain significantly with explorers delight
-Increase flight speed by 50% and reduce hearthstone CD to 30 min
-Put more interesting loot in dungeons & in the Open World
Honestly, the bosses that need it are the ones that are always skipped like half of BFD and most of Mara. one idea would be is to put the hand of justice/sgc/etc on other bosses in the dungeon's loot tables so it would be worth doing them.
SoD and classic should be left in the dust. Splitting the wow community this much spells the disaster of the entire game across all modes.
classic players arent going to play these other version though, wait like 2 months cata will be dead the hype is all fake, even with the massive downturn in sod there is still almost twice as many people raiding sod than wrath/cata right now lol cata is not classic it has wow tokens and a cash shop and retail is an absolute no go. Most classic players will just go to other games. There is no community to be split

I stopped playing sod. It's so bad. The reason it dies is 20 man raids. Takes too long to fill. Also they need to merge servers. They do this bullsh every time. The game is not fun on empty servers. Wotlk died because of that too. Didn't even bother playing phase 4 wotlk. Only active server was gehennas horde. All other servers were dead af. But I think they'll never give af.
They are literally throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. MOP Remix is basically a cross between SOD and Diablo. I really think they will give up on SOD and shut it down until they release SOD Season of Diablo.

It's insane how bad this phase is, im classic andy, i will always be hyped about classic versions of this game but there is simply nothing to do right now, one new BG with no stupid dmg nerfs(unless a light ones for some classes) would be insane, maybe one new dungeon with rare loot and new quests... Like anything, all we discovery are runes being literally nothing new to us cos they are copy of tbc+ talents, beside that and raid there is no discovery at all
get both STV mounts , get exalted with AB / WSG , farm libram enchants for ur gear , farm OS Sets , do world pvp , stock up on gold , make alts , level up professions on theese alts . There's alot of stuff too do .

This is the first week I have not logged on SOD. Balance is a mess, Runes suck to get on a new character and loot sucks p3. If you aren't a warrior, feral or hunter good luck on raid spot.
SoD could be saved by going back to the core premise and making level 60 that rather than this half and half nonsense

Ill say one thing though. Casters do well in PvP but suck in PvE. Buffing caster gear's offensive stats is NOT the way to go and that should be clear to anyone on the SoD team. It worries me that this doesnt seem to be the case. There are plenty of ways to increase casters performance in PvE from a redesign of abilities and whole specs which is admittedly complicated and hard to do, to simply bringing casters available consumeables and temporary class synergies up to the level of melees in raids. That would not continue the cycle of imbalance in PvE vs PvP cycle, but for some reason that eludes my perception, this fix that seems to me both simple AND not difficult to implement, NEVER comes up.
not all casters lol mages are absolute dogshit right now a full 3s cast frostfire bolt does 400 damage and pretty much every other class can full kill you in that time, the only thing they have is deep freeze 6s stun but mages so weak u cant kill any class in 6 seconds so mage loses to every class in the game in pvp. the classes mages are supposed to be good against rock paper scissors just dominate them now, right now they are worst pvp class in the game by a big margin imo
@@Yams42279 Mage has the issue of 150% additional crit scaling. That will force Blizzard t o balance everything around a value that is like 25% in the open world at beast and 70% in raids.
If you crit, you are blasting. If you dont, you deal absolutely no damage. That is not fun, that is not good design. Obviously theres talents to balance this out, but I think the general focus on very high crit multiplier and somewhat low base dmg is not working well in the present setting.
But I wouldnt agree that mage looses to every class in the game and you dont have to be a multi glad to beat roughly half the other classes out there. Perhaps more, perhaps less.
@@Rakschas666 i disagree even on a crit with ffb you do around 1/3 of someone's health and thats a 3s hard cast that you cant even really get off in pvp. They lose to every single class 1v1, warriors and rogues are the classes we are supposed to be good against but mage just insta loses to them right now go ask any rogue or warrior if they are afraid of p3 mage. What class can mage beat right now and even have it be a close fight cuz the answer is none of them lol I have a mage and a boomkin and the difference is astronomical

To be honest, I think a time to kill of 10 seconds makes for a far better and fun game than a killtime of 5 or so. And mage is, although mobile, extremely squishy. Against some classes thats fine, against others it isnt. That being said, theres just a few classes/specs that feel extremely oppressive to most others.
On the classes I play most rogues are straight up death. An undead rogue is not beatable. Every action I can take has an immediate and obvious counterplay and the fights hardly ever go past the 7.5 second mark. Despite that, I cant say with certainty that this is the case on all classes/specs, because theres many I dont have first hand experience with.
classic pvp sucked. GW1 was king back then. cross BGs/GVG/Hall of Heros (randoms) / Arenas 2vs, 3vs, 5vs, 10vs
They killed sod with the 20 man raids once a week with too much trash mobs, outside of the world there is nothing todo if you aint a min maxer

I dont know why everyone is crying. I am loving that everyone quitting this phase. It just means that i have a monopoly to farm all the stuff in the world. This phase i have farmed up and have in stock a bit over 300 arcane crystals and 86 arcanite bars. And 27k gold. Went from 8k in phase 2 and with inflated prices made 19k easy this phase able to farm well over 300g/hr easily

Always enjoy your content and the way you present it, thank you for the video. I understand no content creator wants to piss off the developers, but you guys have the ability to push Blizzard in ways the players can't. I'd love it if your videos were a little bit more honest and direct.
SoD is in a terrible state. P3 is a disaster. From pvp, to loot, to incursions, the retail developers have really hurt the classic content, and that's before we even mention class mechanics or class balance. The P4 announcement is weak and non defined, about the only thing they are clear about is that Cata is more important. I think every player was waiting for good news, some sign that the developers cared about SoD and wanted to fix the horrible downswing they have put it on. This announcement was not it, and will likely push even more players into leaving.
P3 was the most amazing phase, idk what you smoking but you have no points you just say words, i can use the same words as why this phase is the best

i really really hate world buffs, that's the only thing i hated about classic. I'm ok with 1 world buff you can get from major city plus flask and potions thats it. I was hoping they get rid of things like songflower, but they didn't, i nvr wanted to waste time on songflower, dm buff all those crap ever again. So i stop playing sod. Plus the loot from raid is almost irrelevant. I sim it and most of my dps comes from world buffs lol, purple bis weapon only gives like 50 dps increase while world buff doubles my dmg lmfao, i really hate that, that's very dumb.
