☢ Level ULTRA-FAST in SoD Classic with the World's most easy to use guide: www.restedxp.com/ref/sarthe/ ☢
It’s so good to feel like every pick is a good pick, just go for whatever you are feeling the most. Level cap 25 also makes it so easier to try different new classes and roles. Cant wait for SoD
nah, it will hit like wow classic did, certain classes will absolutely still suck, and others will be OP.
@@seja098 maybe, but I'm still making a melee hunter just for the lols :D
@@seja098there’s a reason they’ve got mid tier level caps. Any balancing can easily be done with new runes at each level cap milestone
@@parkerfrode5101
And we don't know anything about professions at lvl40-50 and 60...
Warrior isnt. Scales bad in PvE and you will be kitet through all of Ashenvale in PvP.
Videos like this get me so hyped. Thanks for the breakdowns, Sarthe!
More hoping glad stance is more in line with the warlords version making giving you the ability to dps instead of tank. I loved that during WoD
Whatever class can farm for or use Tunnel Picks and Darksteel Bastard Swords too. These are around the new level cap and are easy to get. Gotta keep an eye out for specific mob drops, like the ogres in loch modan also have two-handers!
people like you will become rich from people like me.
Maybe this Season of Discovery is a good time to branch out a little and move outside of my comfort zone of always playing a Warrior maybe this time- ... wait! Did he just say Gladiator Stance?
Shamans Way of Earth also can be very useful at pvping. Crit penalty reduces damage AND separate shocks cds can fiz shamans survivability and make his burst damage too much burstier
Definitely rolling a shaman tank. They may have been able to tank some before but not very well by mid to high level dungeons. Should be fun!
They all look fun again. That's a really good sign. I'm leaning towards Demo and Affliction lock. Always been a fan. Though shaman tank has been a fantasy of mine since my first TBC dungeons hehe. So excited! And only 8 more days!
It looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun. And I think releasing stuff in tiers is a good idea. I enjoy leveling alts so the lower level raid is really appealing to me ngl
Yep, was a fantastic idea to release it this way. They are actually doing a new take on Classic right and im very, very happy. Im so excited to try this.
Yep should be great
And people like me enjoying both classic and retail, I can feel far less bad about playing both lol
To be clear, Protection Paladins: The Rune of Hand of Reckoning (Gloves) does not 'give you an extra 80% threat', what it does it increases Righteous Fury which is already 60% (untalented) extra threat from your 'Holy attacks' and makes it 80%. So it just increases your threat by 20% overall. (Now, I am unsure if it's treated and multiplied by the tier 3 protection tree talent which is Improved Righteous Fury (+50% more threat) or if this is simply letting you skip it and have a similar effect. -- Testing will need to be done.
Every class got some rly nice runes and overall this looks so interesting pretty hyped for sod tbh 🎉
So good to see that there is no bad decision about picking up a class you like, because every piece looks so good. nice work.
It may look that way, but we'll find out fairly quickly some classes are much better than others.
Yea, but now everything should be viable@@joshseeley7
@@joshseeley7 that’s true, but that didn’t make the other class bad. Just not s tier
@@peterg.5276let's just hope people won't kick you for not playing an s Tier class, because that's the kind of stuff that happens in current classic/retail
@@FloleLuYaR yeah, hope so. But maybe the lvl 25 level cap will smooth the party setups a bit
Unless we want to min-max our class (engineer 240 for example and farm lvl32 mobs for a specific loot) we will probably be able to go up 2 to 3 classes and reasonably do the "pre-raid" PvP and raids.
For me it will be mage first, then rogue and priest.
Rogue then War :D
If I don’t main a priest I’ll have an alt that’s 25 in preparation for the next phase. I want to see what they do with shadow form.
I honestly think with all the time we will have we have a unique opportunity to try them all out. For me, I’m interested in playing paladin, warlock, Druid, rogue, and mage. I don’t like the way priest feels, or id be excited to try. Warrior could be kinda nice, still on the fence on how it feels. Don’t roll horde so shammy is out, plus don’t like totems. Might play hunter just for fun, I always end up quitting it though because endgame is so disappointing for pvp
shammy tank looks so fun. spam FS and molten blast like a frost dk basically on rime resets
well written, thanks sarthe!
Just dont pick a class because a single ability looks broken and OP, it will probably be nerfed, and then youll cry, so play the class you like . I will be playing Paladin and Druid tanks, probably will check Warlock Tank after i see some gameplay videos .
I would say, don’t pick a class, but for a different reason. I just like experiencing different class mechanics. So I’ll probably play all of them.
Fully agree. But I never liked playing mage and now the healing arcane mage seems really interesting (as an alt, priest wil always stay my main)
I was like that when i started playing RPGs, trying all classes it all looked interesting, but now i know with what i have most fun, tanking or if needed playing some plate damage class with 2 handed weapon. All classes look cool in their own way and im happy we are getting many buffs and new abilities, it will be wild and groups will be much more randomized than in Classic and Era@@rickfairfax9631
At least the brightside is leveling shouldn't be ridiculous to get back up since the call at start is 25 and once they raise the cap you'll get joyous journey until previous cap biggest reason I'm playing tbh. But I'm picking mage because healer mage sounds cool
Moonkin babay!
I feel like I would want to go for a DPS rogue. With that being said, I think it would be also pretty cool to try to make a Tank rogue build. Will the respect options be super affordable to the point I'd use the same character for both builds? Or will I need to create a new rogue character just for the tanking? 🤔 The latter option sucks tbh
I believe they hinted something about cheaper respec costs
For hunters' Flanking Strike- how does it work with dual wielding? If it's main-hand weapon damage only then a 2H weapon makes more sense right?
Dang I already know I’m gonna have 5 lvl 25s and will have to make this tough decision when lvl 40 releases
For me, in order : priest (heal) , shaman(mellee/tank) , hunter(bm for farming) , druid(feral) , mage (heal arcane)
Very hard to say!! so far all the classes are very interesting!! For my part, I will try Tank druid - maybe - mele hunter =) or mage healer =)
1:42 ma boi smashing his mouse buttons so hard it looks like the earth is shaking 😂
do we know if SoD will include the buff and debuff limits that SoM had?
Great video! One suggestion could you break up video into sections by class.
Mutilate don't say you need daggers, do you know it needs daggers from the ptr? thanks
I have always wanted to try spell power hunter, but for some reason I can't shake the feeling that it's still not going to be a good pick versus normal hunter.
Dude. These actually seem like amazing fun to play. The warlock tank is tickling my fancy.
Ahh, welcome to Season of Discovery, where everything is already datamined and discovered, tier lists have been made & simmed before release.
That is unfortunately the nature of gaming. People always go for info and try to establish a meta.
@@hanzomain8302 That is human nature
100% picking the classes and specs that didn’t feel finished in Vanilla.
Ret and Prot Paladin, Feral Druid and Shaman (if I ever venture Horde).
No reason to now that alliance have a better windfury lol
@@buckwheat2356 Faction balance, dont just assume you'll be able to pick alliance straight away
@sproosemoose9348 paladins are not good healers at lvl 25. Most of what makes them great healers is their mana sustain but they dont have that at 25, all they have is expensive single target heals.
@sproosemoose9348not in this mode
Rogues will be surprisingly strong with there +5% hit early talent option.
Good JOB Man thank you: )
Ty for this kind sir.
They devs could theoretically begin wow 2 now by using classic plus as a platform to jump from amd go in different directions insteas of following expansions that came out already. Thatd be the dream
Probably picking a warrior first. Basically same gear, just 2 weapons and a shield, will last for a loong time before having to pick up specific gear pieces for either spec. As a secondary character, probably Mage, again, similar gear for damage and healing, and I will have covered all possible roles, tank, heal, melee, range. We'll see just how time consuming this season will be! Very excited for the weekend!
I can't wait to pair seal of command with wild strikes
warlock tanks gunna have the best aoe threat. between lake of fire and hellfire( used carefully) they will be pumpin
which class gonna be better for boosting 1-50? Druid?
Did buff and debuff limits get changed?
With the level caps, I plan to do a lot. I was looking to do MM hunter first, but man those lone wolf and sniper nerfs are big. 50% and 60%.
Can we make both Chars on PvP? Alliance and Horde??
Im stuck between hunter, mage and shaman. I wanted to play pally but the server we chose is full on alliance characters too bad i started a bit late ( last night ).
Played wow when I was a kid, this looks fun enough to bring me back :)
Yeah man it’s great only 15 a month too not awful
Played paladin and shaman back in 2019, playing paladin and shaman for SoD. I’m hype!
@sproosemoose9348 i can wipe my ass with healers.
@sproosemoose9348 I played enhance and ret back then and I’ll play that this time too 😂 healing is not for me
How will Horde tanks be able to hold threat if Horde doesn't get some sort of raid wide Salvation? Everyone's getting massive DPS increases, but not seeing so much for warrior tanks.
Yes, It's about discovery. I'm sure that will go well when there making a raid and Im a melee hunter taking warrior 2h's. :D
Played a warrior tank forever! Got my new OLED steam deck today gonna run classic and switch it up level a Druid and Warlock! ❤️
This has me convinced. Im going shammy tank!
Quick draw meme build is very tempting after watching this video, i've always wanted a robin hood style rogue in classic wow.
Is the debuff cap on enemies gone?
I’m rolling Arms Melee hunter and enhance I’ll have all 3 pimped out first couple weeks
SoD is perfect idea!!!! In 25 lvl we have to make group and go to high lvl location to take BIS. It`s really another angle of view!
nice video dude
Spriest's 3 main vanilla spells still won't scale if they're still in their patch 1.12 balance state, the number I've seen online is that SW:P/MF/MB scale with spell power about 40% as effectively as a Mage's Fireball does, and 2 of those spells can never crit, and the one that can crit has a relatively long cooldown compared to fireball/frostbolt/shadowbolt/starfire/wrath/lightning bolt, and lacks a 100% crit bonus damage talent. That means spriest will scale well under half as much as mages with spell power and crit, and their crits will always hit for 66% of the damage of every other caster's crits on only 1 measly spell that has a long CD, plus spriests have no crit in their talents and hover at around 7% crit at 60, maybe if you're lucky you'll get to 10% but that would really be a waste of crit gear. Also they oom in less than half a minute at 60 and there are no mana changes yet, just new expensive spells to oom you faster. Spriest looking rough atm.
They should have changed shadow word death from the boring execute with CD to an ability that scales with the number of dots the priest has on target and then doubles damage and crit chance in the execute range.
No CD but the backlash debuff stacks up 5% HP, 10% HP, 20% HP if used with the debuff on the priest. So you’d have to manage not killing yourself.
fireball is a 3.5 second cast, spells of 3 seconds or higher typically have 100% scaling, shadowpriest is a special case because they dont have other dps spells than the 3 original + the new ones.
Shadow word pain hits like a truck in classic
one of the runes refers to "your non periodic criticals" so I assume dot crits are in?
does anyone know if wild strikes work for the druid himself to in cat form ?
Priest here, and let me tell you... Penance and Prayer of Mending in SOD are GAME CHANGERS. I never play healers, and I would be absolutely garbage without these. All the other spells cost way too much mana, and there's no MP5 gear at 25 to significantly offset it. Penance and POM make up about 85% of my heals in the BFD raid thanks to being much more efficient.
really cool that u took gameplay footage from popular channels of the classes. Dannygaming for priest or esfand for ret. Cool u share the hype :D
Played since Beta 2004. Never had a Plate Class until now. Suggestions? Tank/DPS. :)
Ret Paladins should also be able to Twist the new Seal like in TBC. Not confirmed, of course. But I dearly hope so!
feeling mixed about my lvl 20 healing mage. still thinking about changing to a holy paly or going back to my hunter roots
Season of discovery is the name, die hard horde player here and I'm going to be Rolling alliance to rediscover and learn something new in the game
Thats what im doing!
Same, gonna roll nelf druid
Im gonna play mostly horde shammy, but i will play some ally just for pally.
I have a strong suspicion a significant majority of the player base wants to play Alliance. The PvP servers will have forced faction balancing (to what extent, we don't know yet, maybe 60/40?). PvE servers though, without balance, I think we may see much higher ratios of Alliance to Horde.
@@sergioperez2771 i haven't given it much thought in that regard but many of my friends have said that alliance have it better for pve so far unless some changes are brought to passives and also runes.
Please note for enhance, we do not know all the runes we will be getting, there very well could be a rune that promotes enhance to use 2h
we know all the runes for Phase1
no 2h
@VinnyOrzechowski no we don't they purposely didn't release all the data on them. They even said there are many that are completely hidden. We only have access to the starter runes, there are many more in phase one. They even said, they wanted us to have surprises. And encourage you to think outside the box and go to far out reaches and cave, etc to find them.
Would you be able to make a list for pvp classes? Will druid for example be able to compete?
balance druid will probably be lity
Sick!
Can I still aoe grind on a my frost mage is what I want to know?
I like the SAO background music! Nice!
Great, now I wanna play every coass
I need to buy the expansion to play ?
I am really hyped up for the game. But Rogue Tanks and Mage Healers still feel wrong to me xD
Kinda want prot pally with taunt and think be cool have crusader strike and devin storm
best for pvp ?
people cried like btch so blizzard nerf hunter even with buffs hunter wasn't able to beat mage and warriors in dps race
we cant have the only class, that only can do DPS, be actually good at dps
@@calronkeltaran493 Arent their pets getting the tank runes?
@@1776huckleberry pets can gain a taunt and increased strats, yes. but we still don't know, if they get proper scaling in lategame, can't get crit immunity like the other new tanks and they still don't have any form of AOE. so it is almost impossible, to keep agro on more than 1-2 mobs
do mobs still have debuff caps?
Easy. Fire Mage with 15% crit, Bomb, Icy Veins/Surge. any Hunter spec with Explosive Shot.Destro Warlock with Master Channeler,Meta,Incinerate (put up incinerate and 2 dots, then kite ppl spamming insta searing pain). Palain with Crusader Strike, Divine Storm + X. Thank me later. Those specs will dominate the 25 bracket unless there will be shifts in damage or other surprises.
Think the searing pain is reduced to melee range
was also thinking fire mage could be really fun. Unfortunately they dont get full improved scorch or have enough spell crit to sustain ignite. But im thinking they are going to be a powerhouse at 40 with combustion and good talents deep in fire tree. Either way im definitely rolling a mage as my first character due to being good at PvE, PvP, and farming.
Huh, wonder how elemental will perform once we get to molten core, because unless they change the mobs' resistance to fire damage lava burst is going to feel a bit awkward.
just use the other rune. looks better imo
duel talent specs, for easy swaps. group finder for dung
There will be Blood Elf Paladins in SoD???
Think im gonna play warrior. Its the one class ive never really played
I can't i can't decide man. Spriest, ele, enha, tank shaman or trying something new, a pala. either spec man..
I can't wait to try shaman tank 😂
I wonder, are the better hunter pets worth 15% or less of a hunter's total damage? Lone wolf hunting sounds fun to try but the minimum range thing is not worth the headache if the overall damage isn't at least equal to having a pet.
They do about 15% of your damage in raids in classic
@@mercaderrifty6709 neat, thanks!
not really if you look up logs they are about 10% max and they might die quick which is a big problem with classic pets
@@itsallaboutrip might be worth having the pet with beast mastery on gloves for dmg and survivability on pet
With the types of class changes they’re making I would be very surprised if the datamined pet stat scaling and avoidance dont make it to live
hate that i cant play paladin on horde tbh. my friends want to go horde for shaman
stuck between mage and warlock, so hard to choose
Melee Hunter stonks are on the rise
Does that mean the druid wf buff will also work on shamans flametongue and rockbiter weapon enchants?
or will it also stack with windfury? :D
@@krzysztof1370hopefully not
hand of reckoning paladin rune adds 20% to the 60% that already exists. Its not plus 80%
Hopefully there is a wild imp warlock
But im a ride or die warrior
Still undecided between Pally, Rogue, or Warrior 🤔
Everything is sounding so spicy, so hard to chose!
I hope Rogue can be range dps with throwing dagger spec in the future, no one class use dagger throwing as main weapon 😁
BM Hunter > Warlock Tank > Not sure of what healer imma go with yet
Wait so lone wolf already got nerfed?
i was half expecting hunters to get a resto spec lol
They just announced nerfs not long ago. Hunters lone wolf buff dropped to just 10% dmg done instead of 25%. Ouch
Feel like folks are sleeping on resto (or elemental) shamans taking the dual-wield rune.
Why you gotta tease me like that lol. I thought maybe they were adding blood elves to SoD since you showed them for the Paladin segment, but doesn't seem to be the case. I am hoping to see blizzard add paladins/shamans to both factions and/or blood elves and dranei. After all, SoD is about exploring new things and having fun, so I don't see why it would be an issue.
Two handed enhance also need some love
Cat feral druid is about to be op
the tooltip for mutilate does not say it requires daggers. was this tested?
It was tested, and it requires daggers
8days!!!🎉🎉
Ok they add windfury in alliance and BoK in Horde, but what about the races's skills ? They nerfed Will of the Forsaken ? they add it in alliance ? or everyone will go in the horde for it
I mean...dies that mean every race has to lose weapon specializations to keep it even then? lol
