    Lovely video. Loved your reasoning behind every aspect of this build. What really made this video stand out was that didn’t actually level up the character and then discussed the feats, etc; instead you had all the feats listed out on a single page and then voiced over info.

    Enjoyed the video. I feel Harrim acts like how we all feel when we are down. "All is ash, nothing lasts forever, etc." But he is stull funny.

    I actually really like giving Harrim a 1 level dip in to fighter, specifically the Aldori archetype because for a 1 level dip it gets you a free exotic Proficiency too. He already has Heavy Armour Proficiency so he won't gain that but he will gain +1BaB, Martial Weapon Proficiency, Aldori Dueling Sword Proficiency and a bonus combat feat. There's lots of good Dwarven War Axes in the game that he can use with that fighter dip since he treats Dwarven weapons as martial. I tend to wait until level 6 to do it though since you don't really find any good Dwarven Waraxes until then, and getting to level 3 spells ASAP is nice because there are some very good buffs there like Delay Poison Communal. Other than that though I really like this variant of the build. The fighter level is honestly the only thing I'd change about it.

      So you get the martial weapon proficiency from fighter and use the dwarven weapon familiariarity Harrim has. Ye interesting not sure if worth to multiclass cleric.
      I am so confused between micro changes between 5de and pathfinder. I mean lv 20 cleric on 5e gets divine intervention guaranteed success, but maybe nothing in pathfinder. Maybe 1lv is worth it dont know.

    Great video. I always use custom companions and have thought of Harrim as largely useless outside of story flavor and humor. This guide lets me see some of his potential use and has some other skill considerations I have not noticed before. This is actually making me want to make a melee cleric.

    Damn. I never noticed the last sentence of the True Strike description, and used it as a level one filler spell if I didn't have something I either want more of or if there's nothing better to take. Negating concealment is perfect for my main user of the spell (Octavia right before casting Disintegrate).

    Regarding your advice to drink CHA potion before leveling up: in PKM you can qualify for feats by wearing items (which is not possible in Pathfinder PnP). But you cannot qualify by spells, spell like abilities, potions or scrolls.

      @@RPGCommunityCollege Yeah, I wish I realized that sooner. I wasted a bit of time trying to figure out how to get the potion. Since bokken doesn't even offer charisma potions near the beginning. I guess maybe you could put the first attribute point in charisma to get access to iit later at least or maybe dropping that part of the build is better.

    If Harrim's Channels are mostly useful AFTER a fight, is selective channel optional compared to something he can use in combat, like, say, spell focus: necromancy, especially since it takes a potion or a spell cast to even utilise Selective Channel while Necromancy debuffs can reduce the need for it entirely

    • @torquevonthorne948

      Hello in this comment you were speaking about Harrim build in PF: Kingmaker. Do you remember which low level necromancy debuffs are good on this character?

    Thing to note, bane has a saving throw when the enemy is hit with it so it probably wont work. Especially on higher difficulties.

    • @panagiotisgoulas8539
      @panagiotisgoulas8539 2 роки тому

      Bane sux compared to bless. On 5e is even worse since it has concetration even. Imagine casting bane on 4 targets, success on 2 and forced to maintain my concetration while I could just cast bless and buff 4... At least in pathfinder you could have both.

    I'm not sure if this is a result of a patch, but Bokken does not have potions, nor scrolls of Eagle's Splendor. Oleg does not either.

    • @Schugger1
      @Schugger1 3 роки тому +1

      Yup, saw this guide yesterday when I got to lvl 3 with Harrim and checked it out. No Charisma Potion at Oleg's Trade Post.
      Bumping Harrim's Charisma with Eagle Splendour doesn't allow him to take the feat Selective Channeling.

    Selective Channel feat requires 13 charisma to get. Harrim has a 10. you will not be able to get this feat at level 3

    Nice Build good work :)
    Sadly tho the method to get Selective Channel does not work anymore. At least for me Booken does not sell any potions of Eagle’s Splendor (anymore?, I am past killing the stag lord getting the barony etc.). And using the spell version does not count apperantly as it still says charisma 10 in the level up screen. Maybe thats been patched out?
    So for now I think I gonna get the Weapon Focus first.

      You can use the +2 charisma helm that you get in the old sycamore + 1 point in CHA from lvl4 lvl-up (wait with the leveling until you got the helm if needed). That will give you the +3 CHA you need unless you want to dump that feat and channel only after a fight.
      1 thing though, the Level 6 spell Chains of Light doesn't have 1 round of guaranteed paralyze, its a save roll in the first round as well. Also, the Level 5 spell Burst of Glory and the Level 6 spell Eaglesoul are worth to consider taking them.

    • @crackhoejackson6005
      @crackhoejackson6005 4 роки тому

      @@Benedictthe3rd Where do you get that +2 charisma helm? And also is it worth putting the 1 point into CHA just for the sake of the channeling?

    • @Benedictthe3rd
      @Benedictthe3rd 4 роки тому +1

      @@crackhoejackson6005 I remembered wrong, in the old sycamore you get a +2 WIS helm. The only +2 CHA helm you can get is from Hassuf the merchant, so you can buy it if you want and use the lvl4 bonus point in CHA and there you go.
      However, I do not recommend that at all because a cleric needs every WIS point he can put his hands on.
      Selective Channeling is a must for a cleric imho but even so it can still be postponed a few levels, its not worth putting points in CHA just for that.
      If you are set for using Harrim (which actually I do no recommend for a beginner first time playthrough, Tristian is more straightforward) wait with the Selective Channeling feat until you get a +4 CHA helm: 2 of them in act 2, I just checked, one from the troll lair at the end of the act but the other one is from a small place called Ironstone Gully. A 3rd helm can be acquired from Sharel the artisan, its a Tier-0 item called "Golden Thread" and with a little luck it can be the first item he gives you if you ask him to make "Clothes".

      you could take weapon focus heavy mace then selective channel when you can buff charisma later on.

    • @Erikjust
      @Erikjust 4 роки тому

      @@RPGCommunityCollege you will need a diadem of 4+ charisma for making it work or buy a diadem of 2+ charisma and put one point into charisma instead.
