the first time when I heard the chorus of mary on a cross my heart skipped a beat. I couldn't help myself but fall in love with the song. it's been a long time since a song touched not even my heart, but my soul and mind... I can't stop listening to it. it's a brilliant song with various interpretations and I'm sure that everyone brings their meaning and mood to it. For me, the song is like a relief from all the emotions I can't express with words, out loud. thank you ghost for entering my life unexpectedly but I'm glad you did cause now I'm gonna learn more about you and probably be your fan cause you're awesome and give me inside freedom
@Megan Schakols thanks for your reply. I've already listened to Cirice and I probably know why you liked it. The lyrics are amazing and the MV feels like a movie, with a rebellious spirit, simply awesome and pleasant to watch. I also liked Rats a lot!
@Megan Schakols If I'm not mistaken Forge writes and records all of the music with the exception of drums. The ghouls are only touring musicians. I’m 59 and took my 15-year-old daughter to see them in Duluth, Georgia. I was surprised by how good the music is. Lots of influences from past bands.

I literally discovered ghost 5 days ago, and it was via UA-cam shorts. I heard about 10 seconds of mary on a cross and got curious. I’ve never been so instantaneously hooked on anything before. Ghost has become my all time favorite band, and I couldn’t be happier. I absolutely adore them, I can’t wait for next year when they go on tour again.
I know that many here do not really know God, but let me tell you that God knows you very well. It doesn't matter what they've done, it's never too late to repent, if you listen to this band, you have to know that God doesn't like it, it's not good. I listened to it and it hurt me a lot to leave it since it was one of my favorites, but God helped me. Today I am here because just as the message was brought to me and many times I ignored it, there was a day when I finally heard it. They may not be converted to Christ today, but if one day they are touched by the Holy Spirit, whether by this message or another, they will see the truth and discover the love of God. Do not continue to be fools because you wish you had not been in hell, and it is not poe to scare you, but if you do not live for God that is what awaits the soul. I have been a Ghost fan for about 10 years and seeing myself (the nun with glasses) at 3:09 was such a surreal experience. I love this band with all my heart ❤

I usually hate crowd shots in metal concerts, sometimes people look so lame... but this, this was special. Ghost's fandom has a devotion unlike most others, and they've adopted the aesthetics of the band, they all look like they're having fun, really feeling the music. It looks like what it is... a religious experience. I only wish I can be a part of this one day.

The Ghoulettes AND the swiss Ghoul. He doubles every lyrics since the second part of the first verse, he is the man who sings the magical lyricly thaaaaaaat at 3'29" in the medium range. Ghoulettes are incredible, but this man sings from the first minute of the show to the last sentence.
This has me in tears, as a musician seeing the crowd... I miss performing now because of moments like this. You have no idea unless that connection clicks. It is clear to see the crowd and singer are both just enjoying the song and everything. It is the connection with the soul that music has. More than just the person, but imagine nothing in your life going right. Then one day you make a connection and it makes you feel good. You may scream, cry and more because of how beautiful it is. This is the best I can explain what I see in this performance and how the crowd is.

I’ve been to my fair share of live shows over the years, but I’ve never seen a crowd as unified around me as I have at Ghost shows. I’ve tried to show my personal friends and family Ghost, met with concerned looks and disappointing results… but this is great. Complete strangers who all have likely felt like outcasts at some point, whether for their style, personal appearance, taste in music, hobbies, etc. But we all understood each other for the brief couple hours we were together. THAT’S the power Ghost has, aside from making some of the best rock since the 90’s
When I went to my first ritual September, everyone around me was so nice and we all just talked about how much we loved ghost and what songs we were excited to hear. It was so fun, like being with an old group of friends for a couple hours.
Ive been to tons of shows and played quite a few. They are one of the best sounding live acts I can remember. Everything from the band mix, to the background vocals has been top notch every time I have seen them.Tobias is a bit of a perfectionist. he plays all the instruments but the drums on the albums. I can imagine him at the mixing board before each show too haha.
When you have a good set of ears on a good engineer, it's not. Also they do run click tracks and in ear systems. So they're always butt hole tight. But it also was mixed post show. So it was audio dumped by the board, then into another mixer. So your comment is very yes and no.
@@brandonarnett3860 its not just the quality of the recording but the quality of performance. normally studio versions are heavily edited and they dont just do 1 take, but this is their only take and it sounds like a studio version
saw these guys in houston the other night. i work security so i had to be there but i knew nothing about these guys before hand but let me tell you of all the big concerts i have ever worked these guys had audience participation going crazier than i have seen at any of the big time concerts. their show was awesome with a mixture of a very entertaining lead all the way to the band who absolutely killed it. lead has freddie mercury vibes for sure and he didn't disappoint. if you see ghost coming to your town it's way worth the price of admission.
As a member aswell of the audience this concert was so life changing. I really hope you guys come back again. I been waiting 4 years to see you and all i can say is the wait is completely worth it. Seeing you guys live is a must see, the fact that you sound as good live as on your albums is mesmerizing.

I know, in the old tours the band used prerecorded vocals from the studio versions and those didn't fit in with the live setting. Much better now with live backing vocals.

Ghost gave me the same sensation than when I discovered Avenged Sevenfold when I was 12. It was a religious experience. I felt I had discovered a treasure, a part of myself. I have never felt so connected and inspired by another rock/metal group in a long time, and their songs are transporting people! The love of the crowd, their differences, everything is art in this band and I honestly, genuinely, and intensely adore them

Oh my god, yes, exactly! I've never truly been able to put it into words really, but that's exactly it. That's how I felt when I first discovered Black Veil Brides, Avenged Sevenfold, Three days Grace, and Sleeping With Sirens, when I was 13. It was such an experience, like a little oasis where you could hide away, especially because I was going through a really rough patch at that time. Knowing that there were other people like you out there in the world and not being seen as weird in those communities was like a breath of fresh air after so long of drowning 😭. It was like finding a part of yourself that you hadn't even realized was missing until that moment. The feelings all of their music evoked from me were things I had never felt before at the time, and yo know that there were hundreds, even thousands and more people wont there in the world who felt that exact same way was truly restoring in a way. To feel like I finally belonged, for the first time in my life, and knowing that I wasn't alone, I'm so thankful for music and bands and certainly these type of bands to exist in the world, to have people that talented in the world that's capable of making songs and music that transport and connect literally thousands of people, it just makes me appreciate life a bit more. 💖💕 If anyone wants a recommendation, I highly suggest dream theater, it's a mind blowing experience.

I discovered ghost less than a week ago through the song "spillways", and i'm completely obsessed. Everything about this band is just so fucking unique. I just hope i get to experience a ritual live man.
I discovered this band around the time of Prequelle but my favorite album is Meliora. However when I first heard Spillways (during the special online ritual) I was hooked. My favorite song was Cirice but that quickly changed. I saw them live this year with my father and my oldest brother who showed me Ghost. They were amazing live and I fell in love with one of their support acts: Twin Temple. I'm still upset that I had to miss their concert.

Having been lucky enough to be at this particular show, I can tell you that as good as they sound in this video, the video doesn't even do it justice. They were hands down the best live band I have seen. Excellent show and visuals from even before the curtain fell to the moment they left the stage. If they come to your area.....pay the money. It's worth every penny.

Look and sound even better now I'm sure, will have to make the pilgrimage next time they come here. They're Birmingham Institute gig was one of the best sets I've seen and we've covered a lot of ground.

I agree. I love their unique sound- I grew up in the 1980s, so I say they were inspired by the late 1970s and early 1980s rock). A guy at work turned me on to this band. Never heard of them before. Within a week I was reciting numerous songs. They are awesome! Lyrics are beyond controversial! So offensive to anyone that deeply loves and has God in their heart. At the same time, there is no other music like this out there. Tobias Forge is a genius! So unique! You won't here this stuff on the radio! That's why I never heard of them in the 1st place. After reading comments, alot of people consider themselves Christians and love this music. I feel that way myself. I have to be honest and say I love it! I do ! Afterwards I feel guilty. Like it's a sin to like it....This is just one of their songs. Mary was Jesus' mother! Eternal and He Is are really deep songs. You can actually feel the lyrics! You can take it both ways! You can feel both sides just through the lyrics and the music! Nothing even comes close! Music is a form of entertainment. These guys take it to the extreme and get in touch with your soul!

I actually had tears in my eyes out of joy seeing them sing, dance and showing what it means to them. After these last two years we can't take this for granted.
For some strange reasons, watching them and listening to this make me feel young and invincible again, like how I felt when I was in my late teens-early twenties. Glad to have found this band.
Papa Emeritus vocals are so unique, the harmonies between him and the Ghouls and Ghoulettes are mesmerizing, such a delight to hear, very talented musicians all of them.
The Bard's Song, Valhalla, Fly by Blind Guardian are very solid contenter of live version that blow the studio version out of the water several time over.
I feel the same, especially because you can feel the audiences energy blasting at you through the screen. Not many live recordings can successfully capture that 🤩
Ghost really took me by surprise this year. In the span of a few months, I went from having absolutely no clue who they were to being crazy about them. Their music really strikes a chord with me and this is an INCREDIBLY GOOD live performance. Even if you don't want to watch the whole video, watch from 3:25 onward and just try to tell me that it's not some of the best live vocals you've ever heard. Really awesome video here.

Ghost is the first band that both my daughter and I can have enthusiastic conversations about. Really brings us together. Edit: Thank you everyone for sharing your stories and for the kind words. I’m pretty sure it’s Mad Gallica (Cumulus), she absolutely rocks! And she can be head throughout the song. If you love her harmonies I’d suggest ‘per aspera ad inferi’ live, you can really hear her vocals and it’s beautiful!

I had that feeling, I was in a symphonic metal band and for years we played dirty bars in front of 5 people, slowly more people came and one day through a contact we had to an orchestra we did a rock meets classic show, it was in a distinguished german concert hall and it was sold out. the first time when I heard the chorus of mary on a cross my heart skipped a beat. I couldn't help myself but fall in love with the song. it's been a long time since a song touched not even my heart, but my soul and mind... I can't stop listening to it. it's a brilliant song with various interpretations and I'm sure that everyone brings their meaning and mood to it. @Megan Schakols If I'm not mistaken Forge writes and records all of the music with the exception of drums. The ghouls are only touring musicians. I’m 59 and took my 15-year-old daughter to see them in Duluth, Georgia. I was surprised by how good the music is. Lots of influences from past bands.

I literally discovered ghost 5 days ago, and it was via UA-cam shorts. I heard about 10 seconds of mary on a cross and got curious. I’ve never been so instantaneously hooked on anything before. Ghost has become my all time favorite band, and I couldn’t be happier. I absolutely adore them, I can’t wait for next year when they go on tour again.
I promise you my friend, seeing these guys live is life changing. And 95% of what I listen to is far more aggressive metal and all that.

It doesn't matter what they've done, it's never too late to repent, if you listen to this band, you have to know that God doesn't like it, it's not good. I listened to it and it hurt me a lot to leave it since it was one of my favorites, but God helped me. Today I am here because just as the message was brought to me and many times I ignored it, there was a day when I finally heard it. They may not be converted to Christ today, but if one day they are touched by the Holy Spirit, whether by this message or another, they will see the truth and discover the love of God. I usually hate crowd shots in metal concerts, sometimes people look so lame... but this, this was special. Ghost's fandom has a devotion unlike most others, and they've adopted the aesthetics of the band, they all look like they're having fun, really feeling the music. It looks like what it is... a religious experience. I only wish I can be a part of this one day.

The Ghoulettes AND the swiss Ghoul. He doubles every lyrics since the second part of the first verse, he is the man who sings the magical lyricly thaaaaaaat at 3'29" in the medium range. Ghoulettes are incredible, but this man sings from the first minute of the show to the last sentence.
This has me in tears, as a musician seeing the crowd... I miss performing now because of moments like this. You have no idea unless that connection clicks. It is clear to see the crowd and singer are both just enjoying the song and everything. It is the connection with the soul that music has.
More than just the person, but imagine nothing in your life going right. Then one day you make a connection and it makes you feel good. You may scream, cry and more because of how beautiful it is.

I’ve been to my fair share of live shows over the years, but I’ve never seen a crowd as unified around me as I have at Ghost shows. I’ve tried to show my personal friends and family Ghost, met with concerned looks and disappointing results… but this is great. Complete strangers who all have likely felt like outcasts at some point, whether for their style, personal appearance, taste in music, hobbies, etc. But we all understood each other for the brief couple hours we were together. THAT’S the power Ghost has, aside from making some of the best rock since the 90’s

Ive been to tons of shows and played quite a few. They are one of the best sounding live acts I can remember. Everything from the band mix, to the background vocals has been top notch every time I have seen them.Tobias is a bit of a perfectionist. he plays all the instruments but the drums on the albums. I can imagine him at the mixing board before each show too haha.
When you have a good set of ears on a good engineer, it's not. Also they do run click tracks and in ear systems. So they're always butt hole tight. But it also was mixed post show. So it was audio dumped by the board, then into another mixer. So your comment is very yes and no.
The only other band I’ve heard that sounds this good live is the Decemberists.

saw these guys in houston the other night. i work security so i had to be there but i knew nothing about these guys before hand but let me tell you of all the big concerts i have ever worked these guys had audience participation going crazier than i have seen at any of the big time concerts. their show was awesome with a mixture of a very entertaining lead all the way to the band who absolutely killed it. lead has freddie mercury vibes for sure and he didn't disappoint. if you see ghost coming to your town it's way worth the price of admission.

Ghost gave me the same sensation than when I discovered Avenged Sevenfold when I was 12. It was a religious experience. I felt I had discovered a treasure, a part of myself. I have never felt so connected and inspired by another rock/metal group in a long time, and their songs are transporting people! The love of the crowd, their differences, everything is art in this band and I honestly, genuinely, and intensely adore them

Oh my god, yes, exactly! I've never truly been able to put it into words really, but that's exactly it. That's how I felt when I first discovered Black Veil Brides, Avenged Sevenfold, Three days Grace, and Sleeping With Sirens, when I was 13. It was such an experience, like a little oasis where you could hide away, especially because I was going through a really rough patch at that time. Knowing that there were other people like you out there in the world and not being seen as weird in those communities was like a breath of fresh air after so long of drowning 😭.
It was like finding a part of yourself that you hadn't even realized was missing until that moment. The feelings all of their music evoked from me were things I had never felt before at the time, and yo know that there were hundreds, even thousands and more people wont there in the world who felt that exact same way was truly restoring in a way. To feel like I finally belonged, for the first time in my life, and knowing that I wasn't alone, I'm so thankful for music and bands and certainly these type of bands to exist in the world, to have people that talented in the world that's capable of making songs and music that transport and connect literally thousands of people, it just makes me appreciate life a bit more. 💖💕
If anyone wants a recommendation, I highly suggest dream theater, it's a mind blowing experience.

I discovered this band around the time of Prequelle but my favorite album is Meliora. However when I first heard Spillways (during the special online ritual) I was hooked. My favorite song was Cirice but that quickly changed. I saw them live this year with my father and my oldest brother who showed me Ghost. They were amazing live and I fell in love with one of their support acts: Twin Temple. I'm still upset that I had to miss their concert.

Having been lucky enough to be at this particular show, I can tell you that as good as they sound in this video, the video doesn't even do it justice. They were hands down the best live band I have seen. Excellent show and visuals from even before the curtain fell to the moment they left the stage. If they come to your area.....pay the money. It's worth every penny.

Look and sound even better now I'm sure, will have to make the pilgrimage next time they come here. They're Birmingham Institute gig was one of the best sets I've seen and we've covered a lot of ground.

I agree. I love their unique sound- I grew up in the 1980s, so I say they were inspired by the late 1970s and early 1980s rock). Tobias Forge's vocals are simply incredible and the harmonies and guitar playing are heavenly.😍 If they are ever in Montréal, I will need to buy tickets to their concert. 🕊🌈

A guy at work turned me on to this band. Never heard of them before. Within a week I was reciting numerous songs. They are awesome! Lyrics are beyond controversial! So offensive to anyone that deeply loves and has God in their heart. At the same time, there is no other music like this out there. Tobias Forge is a genius! So unique! You won't here this stuff on the radio! That's why I never heard of them in the 1st place. After reading comments, alot of people consider themselves Christians and love this music. I feel that way myself. I have to be honest and say I love it! I do ! Afterwards I feel guilty. Like it's a sin to like it....This is just one of their songs. Mary was Jesus' mother! Eternal and He Is are really deep songs. You can actually feel the lyrics! You can take it both ways! You can feel both sides just through the lyrics and the music! Nothing even comes close! Music is a form of entertainment. These guys take it to the extreme and get in touch with your soul!

Papa Emeritus vocals are so unique, the harmonies between him and the Ghouls and Ghoulettes are mesmerizing, such a delight to hear, very talented musicians all of them.

Ghost really took me by surprise this year. In the span of a few months, I went from having absolutely no clue who they were to being crazy about them. Their music really strikes a chord with me and this is an INCREDIBLY GOOD live performance. Even if you don't want to watch the whole video, watch from 3:25 onward and just try to tell me that it's not some of the best live vocals you've ever heard. Really awesome video here.
