I can peel these prawns easily. What I find much harder is peeling their much smaller cousins we call brown shrimp. I love the taste of these, but it takes a great deal of patience to peel enough for a mouthful.
I have extreme allergies with seafoods and am about to try eating shrimp right now (after taking antihistamine) because a good neighbour shared alot of their home cooked shrimps... Thank you for this, I almost ate the skin hahaha
You should probably not eat something your allergic to.. But who am i to talk?. I love avocado but i get some allergic reactions from it. Not to bad tho.
Cheers Mate - Got a bag of Crevettes- which is the Frenchese for Prawns in England - think the shop was being posh on me. All the best from a sunny(?) England. - Another sign of the end of the world!
Years ago in mid 70's, I worked in a fish factory at Tweed Heads. My job was to spend all day peeling prawns. Ended up with RSI in my wrist and had to give the job up. Not before I nearly got the factory closed down because I wouldn't join a union.
Lets put the record straight for our American friends... Prawns are the larger of the two Crustaceans, whereas Shrimp are their smaller cousins. If you want to go all scientific, then Dendrobranchiata is a suborder of decapods, commonly known as prawns, where there are around 500+ different species. Prawns have three pairs of claw-like legs, while shrimp have only one pair ( Pleocyemata) and are considerably smaller. I hope this clears it up. And the Aussies are correct in this case calling them Prawns.
I had no idea so I just ate the thing whole with it's shell at an asian restaurant and it was not that great. I tried to peel it with a knife at first but it just didn't work that great lol.
@@Howto..GardenGarageHouse Yes. I'd rather eat shrimp that's peeled and especially deveined. I'm not sure why many restaurants serve shrimp with everything still on.

Yes, you have to work for your meal with the small prawns!
@@Howto..GardenGarageHouse no you can eat the shells. Especially when they're fried. You eat them like French fries
@@retrothecake really? Thanks a lot. You saved me🤗

No problem, enjoy!
Lmao that sad sandwich back ground.
It might be sad, but it's delicious!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
instead of using your fingernail to deshell the shrimp you can grab the legs and take them off to let the shell free, then peeling the shell off
Just peeled a prawn. Thought I didn’t do it right I had to refer to this video. Thanks a lot 👍🏻
No problem 👍
The shrimps look different from the ones i usually buy here in Sweden. But they look super fresh. Beautiful
Thanks, they are nice!
Not sure why there would be a difference, but I'm Norwegian and haven't ever come across shrimps that didn't look like this

I hope this video helped!
This is therapeutic.
Thanks!
In the USA we call the really large ones 5/7 per pound prawn 🦐 the rest are just shrimp 🍤
Too much work. :/
Btw, what did you season it with? How’d you cook ‘em? I’m curious as to how they cook shri- er, prawns in Australia.
I always buy my prawns cooked and ready to eat (once I peel them).
Sounds like rolf Harris 😮childhood memory
What happens if I eat the head?
You will turn into a prawn so be careful
This is why people who eat seafood are skinnier because it takes a half hour. Just get the thing out of the wrapper
That's good thank you
Welcome 😊
Thank you! It´s so easy now...

do you suppose to eat the vains
no
@@Fatchick2316 lol too late 😂 lol
You can eat the veins of small shrimp. Its just a personal preference
It's poo. They call it that to be polite.
can’t you just eat it with the shell on
No, it's way too crunchy...
@@Howto..GardenGarageHouse it tastes good with the shell though

enfin un vrai breton
I was more satisfied by the bread you have sat there
Yes, Australian bread is very delicious!
Im not vegetarian by means but now i understand how someone can become one😮😢
Prawns and shrimps are actually different species! Kinda like crocodiles and aligators. They taste basically identical though.
Different countries use the terms differently, they don't have any scientific meaning.
i didnt want to feel like an outlier at a family gathering
Just plain shrimp and bread?!
yes!
What about removing the veins?
I'm watiching for this to help my gf.
Cool!
I just eat the poop, in texas our shrimps come slathered in sauce so its so flavorful lol
Shrimps are shrimps and prawns are prawns
How to needlessly fondle a shrimp.
lol
Made that look difficult
Tasty barnacle

Lol
Went to a hot pot restaurant and ordered shrimp. To my horror I realized I had some work to do.
It got messy lol...
Here I was eating everything without the head
That would have been very "crunchy"...
Bevor ich mich im Restaurant so einsaue, verzichte ich lieber darauf!
Man, thanks for the video but this really brings home to me why no one should eat prawns! Seriously gross!
Salmon, Tuna, Haddock all the way !😊
