totally! I feel like the difficulty in crochet sweaters is just a commitment thing, the actual crocheting of it is very straight forward!

I recommend you to make a raglan sweater with scrap yarn. Just hide your tails as you double crochet and then have fun!
I did one like that as my first sweater (way too easy) and now that I have plenty of scrap I'll do another one but this time more oversized.
