- By request, here is a different version of the original video - but much quieter music. I hope this helps - but please be aware that it was very windy - and therefore impossible to capture all the sound that we all would have liked.
Holkham Beach in Norfolk, England is the location of the Blues and Royals mounted Regiment exercising their horses during their break from their typical duties. The Regiments of The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals make up the Household Cavalry and are normally based in London.
They have a summer training barracks in Norfolk and periodically exercise their horses on the beach - as per this occasion.
It was very windy on the beach at the time of recording, which I have reduced as much as possible, - hence the audio is not as good as I would have liked.
Please do not go to Holkham expecting to see this spectacle on any random day. It is very infrequent - but a matter of great excitement to witness first hand.

Its a shame that even on the beach they got to be harassed! They're on vacation. They shouldn't have to put up with people wanting pictures with them. I love watching them enjoying themselves. Its nice to see them trying to relax before they have to return to London. Love this video!
How often are your horses taken to the beach to enjoy themselves?
Wanting photos while touching I think is a No No while there having time out!! But this man has captured some beautiful footage zooming in , without being a nuisance, So we can appreciate they & their handlers get some well deserved time out ❤️
I live near this beach. The cavalry used to advertise so people could come see them; it got silly. Now it’s just a few locals or lucky holiday makers who spot them so it’s a small, opportune crowd. The beach itself is HUGE. It’s where the film ‘the Piano’ was filmed. Plenty of room for everyone I assure you. It’s a beautiful, unspoiled place

Idiots who moan about how badly the horses are treated on duty should see this.
The 'idiots who moan' aren't talking about the few weeks of vacation the horses get. They talk about the fact that the horses get no free time to be horses and sometimes have work in ill fitting tack the other 11 months of the year.
They are regularly turned out to grass for a break in Melton Mowbray during the year . When did you pass your Lorinery exams like the Master Saddlers of The Household Cavalry who make each horse its own individual tack ?
@@kathellison8084 1. It isn't regular, its often once a year for six weeks. If you can find some info anywhere that they do get out regularly, feel free to show it. Because I can't find it anywhere.
2. You can find video on youtube of horses bits that are so many sizes too big that they slide around the horse its mouth.
3. Even if the horses were let out in a pasture once every month it would still be too little. A happy healthy horse requires turnout every day, not to be looked up in a stall for 20 hours. There is more than enough research about the detrimental effects on the horse its body and mind if it is locked in a stall for this long every day. (Try and imagine having to stay 20 hours in a room the size of your bed)

Why is there, what appears to be, a WWII Red Cross bus/truck? Was there some sort of "re-creation" exhibition or something?
This is for any kind of emergency to guarantee quick medical help.

It looks like a military ambulance. All military units have an ambulance at any gathering that has a chance of anyone getting hurt.
Do you get to speak to the troopers? I would like to ask do they think horse guards is a waste of their talents. On their horses for an hour being abused by tourist and shouted at. I also think personally there are now far too many regular people videoing there that has caused the mass tourist attraction making it unsafe for the troopers and their horses. Anyway if ever you can ask them please
