    I made some similar pillows last year. We had a few different pieces of cotton with flowers on them. I just made simple rectangles so that the pillow was simple white cotton and then made a colourful "pillowcase" that can be washed if necessary 😄 My daughter (4y) also loves them and uses them instead of a cuddly toy for sleeping.
    Thank you again for another video! Always looking forward to your videos 😍

      Very nice idea for a your child's toy. I also like the idea of the pillowcase so you can wash. You're clever...

    • @FairylandCottage

      Hey there,
      do you mean for hand washing clothes... or for washing hands?
      soap nuts are great for that... I have a video under washing up liquid. This can also be used for hand wash and clothes wash...

    • @FairylandCottage

      yeah rosemary a great one.... collect, dry and the grind up for a lovely refreshing smell... also camomile flowers.. you can buy camomile tea and use that... any dried herb that smells nice.

    If you have some Therapeudic Lavender Essential Oil ( I would recommend Young Living ) you could also intensify the filling and add the bottle to the eye pillow gift. Anointing the outside every now and then will keep that fragrance intense. Mum may just wake up feeling like she drifted off to heaven and back. ❤

    Alternatives for buckwheats?

    • @iamhere8042
      @iamhere8042 5 років тому +3

      Alternative is rice...
      As she already mentioned in this video

    • @EmmaAppleBerry
      @EmmaAppleBerry 5 років тому +1

      Any dried grain would probs work. Just gotta remeber smell and also the density. For example the smaller grains would be a lot better comfort and density wise but would be more likely to burn (if youre going to make a heated eye pack and not a regular sleeping sort of mask) than bigger stuff like dried beans but yeah i'm not an expert im sure you could google some alternatives. I know rice and wheat are great though and very tried and tested.

    If I put rice in mine how would I clean the fabric?

    • @FairylandCottage
      @FairylandCottage  5 років тому

      if you want to clean the fabric you would have to make two coverings... one for the rice and one over it that could be removed for washing...

    I've got a question that doesn't have anything to do with the video😅 but where do you get your cooking and skin oils in glass? I do not have a bulk store here I can go to😄

    • @FairylandCottage
      @FairylandCottage  5 років тому

      I get mine in health food shops. I search and search until I find the glass ones! It can take a lot of time but once found I just always buy from there!
      In relation to cooking oils I buy glass in the supermarket.

    Lavender is quite expensive....

    • @faerth5471
      @faerth5471 5 років тому

      You only need a handful, and it can be found at most health food stores or anywhere with a wide array of spices for like $3-4

    • @FairylandCottage
      @FairylandCottage  5 років тому

      I pick it in the garden for free but it should be cheap enough in a health store or a tea shop... lavender and camomile maybe...
