Great circuit in a great city in a great country. Even if the race doesn't deliver, it's great to have Canada back.
Can’t wait for my home race!
Sorry but canada is not a great country. A dictator pretending to be for freedom while banning guns and jailing people for saying 'the wrong' things. And denying people to even leave or have a job if they dont take a vaccine. But the track is alright
congrats simon
Could say it's great Sean
@@Simon-jv9bm im 2 hours away and extremely sad i didnt get tickets this year but its such a good track im stoked
as a canadian, i'm so glad its back !! i'll never forget when my grandpa brought me there for the first hamilton win of his career, great memories !!
That’s an awesome memory to have 👏🏽👏🏽
my best memory from the canadian gp was in 2008 when robert kubica took his first f1 wictory. as a polish person that is truly the best memory of my life. and i love racing the track on f1 games. because its so simple yet so challenging
I'll be there on saturday and sunday!!! So excited
@@williamyip11 enjoy your weekend mate ! i wish you a great race weekend, its an awesome event !
it's going to be a great race track, just because these cars are less aggressive and get more wheel-to-weel battles on smooth corners. But also has a good length of drs. And the wall of champions
Latifi is going to hit that wall i bet
@@bobsandvegana in fp1,2 and 3, quali and race
Latifi and stroll
@@tnt-thelorofwar8513 Hey, it's called "wall of champions" not "wall of guys who clearly aren't good enough for F1". Let's keep it that way... lol
Lol
There's 3 tracks that always should be in F1. Spa, Monza and this one. No ifs, no buts, these 3 tracks are a must on every F1 season
You forgot Interlagos! 4 tracks that should always be in F1.
monaco?
@@meenalbishnoi Not great for racing like the other 4, but you’re right. 5 it is.
And Silverstone
Silverstone as well.
For anyone wondering, its a permanent track but you can't race there. During the rest of the year its turned into a public road / cycling road
Yeah! Love pulling timed laps on the track on a bixi 😂
@@Djvdh99 lmaooo I gotta try that one day
@@Djvdh99 HAHAA (kinda curious what time you did lmao)
@@rezgon1028 My record is a 10 min 35s , I was getting dusted by the racing bikes though lol
@@Djvdh99 you need to try it with eletric bixis, those things are faaaast
Johnny Herbert once said Montreal was his and most drivers favourite. The track is minutes away from the team's hotel and the city has some of the best restaurants and "gentlemen's clubs" .
As a Canadian and specifically a Montrealer, it warms my heart to hear the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve get rated so highly. I only got converted to F1 in 2019 so I've only watched one Canadian GP, so I'm glad to know that it has a reputation internationally as a classic!
Also for what it's worth, I definitely consider it to be a permanent track instead of a street course, considering the roads aren't public roads per se as much as they're just used for average joes who want to drive around the circuit lol - they don't even take the kerbs off during the year.
Watch the 2011 race, one of the best races of the past two decades.
Wow, I mean, as a Canadian, I love this track, and most of us do, but I didn't think other ppl loved it this much! That's awesome. Great stuff to hear, loved ur video
Other Ppl? You Mean?
I've said the same thing about Gilles Villeneuve himself, I loved him as a Canadian, didn't realize so many people outside of Canada even remembered him let alone consider him one of the best ever.
How can you not love Circuit Gilles Villenueve..I mean it's just 🤌
@Raaid Janjua Yupp🙌
Great track and great atmosphere as well! As an American f1 fan for 25 years I always get a giggle when other continents have to watch the races at crazy times of the day! Get a taste of our struggle
Circuit Villeneuve is one of those tracks where, if you only look at the map, you go "what? That's it?" But the actual flow of the track, and the racing it produces, are far beyond how it appears at a glance. Some tracks are just like that.
This is my first Canadian GP so I can't wait
I totally agree, it’s a great race track and even on the F1 games it’s one of my favorites, great history as yoz said, it’s a staple like spa and monza, I can’t wait!
Great video as always 🤟🏾
My first win in the F1 game (2013) was in Canada, and in a Toro Rosso. It’s plainly the best, with combinations of tight corners and wide hairpin, and that back straight
"Unique and iconic. Passion of fans. [...] I remember back in 2019, on the drivers' parade... I actually got goosebumps listening from the support from the crowd. So i'm looking forward to experiencing that again." - George Russel
"Epic, atmospheric. First win. Montreal is one of the most exciting races of the year. [...] It's this tiny little island, on the edge of the city. It always provides great racing. [...] It's one of my favorite races." - Sir Lewis Hamilton
Love the Canadian GP. It's one of the five races I really look forward to every season, alongside Baku, Spa, Imola and Interlagos.
And let's not forget, the track is great but if the weather takes a turn, it's always an absolute classic.
Laps 55-70, Sunday June 12th 2011 sealed it for me as my Favourite.
Its conclusion happened at the end of one of the worst days of my career, the rain delay meaning I managed to get home to watch the final 30 laps
My dad called me from the car on the highway and I was like, "Get tf back to your seat man, the race is restarting!!!!" and he actually made it back lol.
Who wouldn't love this track? Straights and high speed corners punctuated by hard breaking zones into a couple of chicanes which can be taken right on the edge and a magnificent hairpin. Even qualifying is great.
My first GP that I got to witness in person back in 2019. Safe to say that I’ve been excited to see the return of the classic track.
Thanks, buddy! 🇨🇦 Glad our race is back. Montreal is a great town. Peace!
Im Canadian and a new f1 fan and it warms me to see that the f1 community loves the Canadian GP
It'll be my first Canada GP 👊🏼
I completely agree with you. The track’s like Melbourne, but combined with the satisfying corners and smooth elevation changes. I’m really excited for this weekend, hopefully, we will see some good racing action, perhaps some controversy.
This track might actually be the most underrated F1 circuit. I never hear anyone say that this is their favourite track, or that they rate it highly. It's always sort of under the radar but it almost always delivers a good race
Lol what?! It's literally constantly in S tier when people rank tracks.
Agree. I live in New Hampshire USA and have been to quite a few races at the track starting in the early 80's. Saw Gilles there before he was killed. I have a ticket to qualifying this year and expect Montreal to be the most energized city on the planet after a 2 your hiatus.
The moment when a F1 race in Canada is boring then we know we have a problem.
It's a really good track on a very nice setting but there has been a fair amount of average races there too. Just a bit like Baku last week, which got everyone naturally hyped, having great races is not always dependent on how good a circuit is.
That said, very nice to have Canada back for sure.
I live at 10min from the track, I used to hear them from home when it was the V10 era
But honestly I’d never thought it was a fan favorite track. I more often hear negativity towards Canada and Canadians.
I’m glad to see you guys love my home backyard ! ❤️
Went there in 2019 (not for the race, in the off-season). Can confirm it is basically still like a track the whole year round
yeah as a montreal resident I think of it as a permanent track (of course they likely put up and take down various grandstands etc). it’s certainly not a ‘street circuit’ in that the track is ever really used for anything besides racing/biking
I love the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and it’s nice that it’s the closest track to me only being 12 hours away. Plus if you don’t like the racing then the city of Montreal has great things to do in it.
God damn. You making me soft about our home race track. Thank you very much. Looking forward to this weekend and all the people in our great city
it is the only memory of in person F1 i have, i went in 2003 and 2004 (only could get qualification tickets cuz they were a gift from his boss lol) with my dad and cried most of the time because of the noise. but i remember my dad taking us to some corner under some trees and it was more quiet. loved the experience, love the memory. dad was a real trooper.
Ive been to this circuit a number of times, its for sure my favorite track in the world
This is an amazing track in an amazing province, in an amazing country
Here in Montréal there is a palpable vibe downtown, special events, closed off streets showing off hot cars, and everyone who has a special car is cruising the streets. More Lambos and Ferraris than you can count!
I always enjoy your videos and I hope you hit 100,000 subscribers soon to get that UA-cam plaque! Well done mate 👍
The first full F1 race I remember watching on TV was the 1981 Canadian Grand Prix. I had seem bits of races before, and I followed it a bit in magazines, but this was my big intro. It rained, a Ligier with a Matra V12 won, Gilles wrecked his car and kept on racing with no front end..and finished third! It was Gilles' last Canadian Grand Prix...the next year it was named after him after he died....and eerily, the second death of the season happened at the start of that race, a horrible season that was.
I’m so grateful for living in Montreal
Got tickets for this weekend. Coming from toronto me and my friends are so excited! So good to see it back
Great video lad, yeah I’m pumped for the Grand Prix such a shame I can only watch quali cuz I’ve got school on Monday lol
Perspective, thank you so much for loving our Grand Prix.
Great track on the video games too. The 2 straights give you a chance to take a sip of beer while playing.
you sold it so well, i really hope it lives up to your expectations because you got me hyped haha
Hopefully it lives up to the hype 😄
It’s amazing this is a brilliant track!!! Can’t wait 😁
Merci! That's a great tribute to Grand Prix of Montréal à île Jean-Drapeau!! Québecers should take a look at your video to appreciate the Island more!
I’ve got tickets in grandstand 12 this is going to be my first in person race! I’m beyond fired up!!!
With three DRS zones and the new aero regs for this year, I think we are going to see a fair amount of passing. Beautiful venue and a wonderful track, even though it is not entirely purpose built. Makes Paul Ricard look like a super market parking lot.
your pronounciation is super great.so much better than whatever i speak in english !!
first time watching Canada live super keen, watched a bunch of replays. so hoping for a goodie!
I'm from Montreal and very proud of our race track. My father initiated me to the sport in 1978 when Gilles Villeneuve won his first grand prix I was 11 years old and still remember the sound of those car standing there with only a mesh grilled fence back then security was not considered a issue.
Hopefully you can make it to the canadian grand prix one day it's a fun city with welcoming people and F1 fanatic, thanks for the good work 🏎
flying there tomorrow!!! CANT WAIT
keep the video coming! i'm sure you can reach 100K by the end of the year I bet! i've been following you since like 5k subs, so you're doing great, keep it up mate!
Thank you!
Yep started watching F1 last year and I'm really excited to see how this goes
I’ve never seen a race here, but it’s one of my favorite to race on video games. So fun to drive. I’m excited for the race, especially since I live in the US. I can actually watch a race at a normal time lol
Love this track
Thanks for the mention!
Thanks for the footage!
I live a few kilometres away from the circuit and we always go out to see it. I’m glad to be so close of this race
Holy Sh*t, you had me at the Raiders hat. I love the channel.
Huge thanks for including my washed driving, appreciate it a ton man and love the content 🖤🙌
My fiancé and I leave in 16 hours to head to Montreal! It’s his hometown track and will be my first live F1 race and I’m so excited I could just cry. It’s going to be the best weekend of my life.
I went in 2014 when your fellow Aussie won. Loved the race and the venue. Also had the Massa/Perez crash happen right in front of the grandstand we were in by the Senna curve.
love you bro ❤❤
I'll be there this weekend! Montreal is already a mad house in anticipation
It's a great track. Fun to drive (virtually!) and looks good with the onboards, like you said. Even if the race itself doesn't produce tons of overtakes, etc, something strange, weird or dramatic seems to always happen on this track. It pushes drivers and keeps them on their toes for sure.
It's a fantastic track on F1 2021. Excited to see the drivers return, especially consider we have new cars.
I think that straight is the best part of the circuit, love this back again on the calendar
As a Canadian I cannot wait to watch this race because I have watched since 2020 and I hope this go is back in the calendar and it is, plus I hope Lance does well, people may think he’s a bad driver but he has had some bad luck
As a Canadian, nice to hear. I just bought tickets for the 2024 race for my daughter’s 16th birthday. Looking forward to the experience.
Greetings from 🇮🇩 to 🇨🇦
I'm actually going to friday practice! Can't wait!
Cant wait to see this race live this year
Love this track since my Childhood
That's many people don't know it's a "street circuit" (aka partially on public roads) says alot about the rest of them. Because they all look and feel the same despite not needing to.
there's a casino in the middle of the island and also a bridge crossing the circuit. (yes I DO live in Montreal)
Love it as well. Especially in F1 2013. Keen to see how Ferrari will bottle it again though - _-
The track is on an island, theres a "lake" in the middle of the track you can swim in and you park on the track when you go there. I went to the lake a few years back and was hype when i got to drive on the track lol
Completely agree with this video
im canadian and i live 10 or 15 min away so i could hear the f1 engines at my house and i've never seen a grand prix in canada since i started being an f1 fan in 2020 or end 2019. im looking foward to this grand prix and i hope it will be charles week-end i've also went on the track and i hope to do it again on bike. i think it's a very good track to drive on and to see cars race on it. we cant leave this circuit behind
Ahhh home sweet home.. I hope to see everyone here this weekend :)
That feeling, that it starts at 20:00 for me, just ideal time like a good movie :D Czech Republic, Prague
It's a great track. I have seen it as a guest of Acura in their VIP section and from the stands the year of the Kubica crash.
I also drove it years ago in my Civic Si at speed. Now it is mostly a cycling circuit after the F1 is done.
I was there today and It is amazing. saw 15 of 20 drivers in 2 days
Its just such a well sorted track in alost every aspect. It just generates great racing, regardless of the car eegulations in place at any given time
The track is like 5 minutes from my house.. Its nice to hear that.
I am going to this race next week and I am so excited!!!!!!! Going to be a great race, especially as a Max fan lol
Let me tell you as an American F1 fan living on the west coast… it’s gonna be nice not having to wake up at 4am for a race for the first time in forever
I always wish that F1 would return to Mosport just because I live right beside it, but i never want to see the Canadian GP leave Montreal
Montreal is a fun city. I reckon a lad like you would have a good time there.
Might be going!
The groundhogs will be the most exciting part of this weekend.
Dk about everyone else but on the F1 games this track is so much fun to race on, by far and away my favorite followed by interlagos n France
I love the name of this video- 💯 agreed! 😀
I’m going to the Canadian GP this weekend but only qualifying. I’m exited
I am sitting here awaiting the GP in Montreal this weekend. I have been 23 times since 1980. It's a great circuit that the drivers enjoy and the fans are Incredible
Isn’t it crazy expensive? Any tips for newbies interested in going next year?
It was always my favorite track when i played the f1 game…
Canada was the first f1 race i ever watched and it was the first track I played on an f1 game which was the awful 2014 game. This track is a race I try and watch every year I normally am busy so I can’t watch races definitely a top 5 circuit in f1 always a highlight of the season type of race
This is my 2nd fav street circuit
I'm actually amazed it's happening again...
Not my fav but u are right about it. Its a awesome track and high in the rankings.
Canadian GP is definitely the best in the world I think most fans would agree
Susuka is my favorite, but this one is definetly top 3 to me. Just great track overall
As a Montreal local, definitely will go to open house day tmr morning
Being Canadian I'm biased but yea best hybrid track for hybrid cars.
Cheers.
This is the track that made me love Formula 1.
