Josean Orta - KISS Tribute - Detroit Rock City Drum play through cover

This is one of many tribute videos I will be uploading onto my new UA-cam channel in the upcoming months. Kiss has always been one of my favorite bands growing up and I've been wanting to do my version of "Detroit Rock City" for a very long time.
I chose "Detroit Rock City" to be my first tribute for a few reasons: Not only was Kiss the first live band I had ever seen but it was also the first song I ever learned to play on drums when I was a kid. The amount of time I spent listening to it, learning it and understanding the "why" of the song is unmeasurable. At the same time I learned the basic skills to be able to understand other songs and also learn to play with other people.
Right now I want to pay tribute to the musicians and drummers who have made me who I am today. I want to give back to the instrument I love so much.

I used a Gretsch Catalina Ash 22" kick, 12" tom, 16" floor tom and Gretsch Taylor Hawkin Signature Snare. This drumkit sounds awesome for the price and the snare has a really nice crack that is extremely versatile.
For this video Zildjian provided me with 13" Mastersound hihats, 18" A custom crash, 19" A custom crash, 21" Z mega bell ride and 19" K Chinese.
