Built a lot of karts. Get a bigger eBay carb. Vacuum fuel pump off the valve cover. Stiffer valve springs. Remove the governor. Open header and 110+ and you will have a solid 13 hp out of that 6 horse.
Tip I learned from a chef : yellow mustard makes a great burn ointment. Just put some on a bandaid and slap it on. Swap out twice a day, as you would with any bandaid. Only use on 1st and 2nd degree burns (unbroken skin, just red and /or blistered). For cuts, scrapes, open wounds in general, use honey in stead of mustard.
As we say in So Cal... Duuuude! That trike is too cool for school! LOL! I love this build as much as the tractor. You are officially having WAY too much fun!
I love the channel! Keep up the good work, and l cant wait to see this thing completed. I think a little 2 stroke would be the cats meeow, with a stupid large expansion pipe.
Pull start! If you can live without a battery, it'll be ready whenever you come back to it (after you clean the carb) & you won't be letting Canada cold trick you into buying a battery every year.
Loving this build! Just a heads up, I'm a mini bike guy. There are tons of one inch grips and throttles available. Quite a few old minis and bikes like Harleys, triumphs and such use them also. I welded in a couple 7/8 bars in before I figured that out. Any clone engine will do the job. I have a 212 that I put a couple hundred in and it's making just under 20hp.
Oh man that thing is going to be so cool, and the 212 definitely seems like the best choice. Great to see you genuinely enjoying yourself dude, small projects are always the most fun 👍😃
If you don't want to weld the top triple, weld a nut in the end of the tube and then use a washer welded to the fork tube under the top triple and then when you bolt it from the top, it will be secured both ways.
I built a harbor freight 212cc engine and my mini bike would do 60mph with me on it 6’1” 185lbs. Also Harley Davidson bars are 1” so you could leave them and buy grips and throttle tube relatively cheap on Amazon. Trike looks great can’t wait to see it finished up.
Hey Kyle, sweet new project! What are your thoughts on getting into a bit of simple CAD and getting things like those crowns laser cut for future projects? It would save you a lot of time grinding away big pieces! Learning SolidWorks on your PC during the livestreams would be fun or even make another series out of it 👍
Lots of you tubers these days seem to have their own plasma or laser table and personally I don't enjoy watching it. I like watching people make things with affordable tools that I own and can use. When you start using CAD, it just turns into this boring show of, i just drew this in solid works and now my $20,000 machine is cutting it out for me. It loses the charm for me.
Weld some bolts or threaded rod in the foot pegs to add some skateboard or scooter wheels for when you've got your mullet flyin' through the air and you start feeling a little sporty.
There's a stroked version of the 212 with more reinforcement on the block that harbor now sells. First thing to do to it is replace that plastic cam gear, not a problem if you plan on building one out.
You can always raise the frame some by adding length to the front forks and putting the wheels tabs down further it'll lift the front. Like reverse rake lol
I'd definitely do electric start and whatever motor you choose you can always do small mods. Port polish shave head bigger better carb exhaust govenor removal etc to pick up a few hp. Gearing helps a lot with small motors. You will do a good job reguardless
Predator 212 with billet rod and flywheel, forged piston, heavy valve springs, big cam, and 22mm mikuni carb will do almost 9k rpm and around 20hp. With relatively tame gearing it would do 60 mph with me on it. It was a fairly heavy mild steel rectangle tube frame, and I weigh 275 lbs. It is loud AF though. I was dumb enough to take it into town once. Cop couldn't see it, but he heard it from inside his car over a quarter mile away and nailed me. On a flat stretch you could easily hear it from a mile away.
For the the front forks weld a washer under the top plate to the pipe weld a nut inside the pipe that way you can put a short bolt and washer to clamp the top in.
I have built many 17hp plus 212s. But the sweet spot for reliability and ram is about 16. You can spin 8900-9100rpm and have alot of fun. So I would stick with the 212.
@@Todd_G_FPV no tricks man, billet rod, billet flywheel, timing key, a welded cam(275-302) depending on were you want your power to be, chromoly push rods, good set of valve springs, valve spring caps and retainers. A flat slide 24mm mikiuni carb and 0.10 head gasket. Flat top piston. Seems like alot but can build one in a hour and have alot of fun. My custom mini bike goes 62mph with one and a 75tooth sproket.
@@jcfish847 damn, that's cooking! Lol maybe one day I'll get into them but for the last year I've really been getting into electrics, built up a razor ground force drifter into a 32mph death machine lol its a blast!
@@jcfish847 it's a blast! It started as a 24v brushed 250watt system and I went with a 1500watt 48v brushless kit. I've always thought about using a Harley transmission powered by a little go-kart motor, you'll have lowe end power and top end. I'd think it would be something you could definitely pull of in the future.🤘
Would really love to see you back on the cars dude. It’s gonna be spring before you know it. Then you’ll be thrashing to make the first track day and shit will be wrong.
Maybe time to get a cheapo plasma cutter Kyle? Might cut down on the grinding dust and steel filings everywhere. Probably would speed up your plate cutting. Also could use it for frame/body mods on your drag car projects later this year!!
I had a Tecumseh 5 HP motor on a cart as a kid. It would get to 25mph real quick and ran forever. Take the governor off and gear it right and I bet you could easily go as fast as you'd be comfortable with on that thing
Do a predator 212. Cheaper to replace if you blow it up and there's endless parts for them. I have a stock block 212 mini bike. Stage 1 intake and an exhaust with a torque converter. 18 tooth gear up front and a 65 tooth in the rear. My bike does 49 mph on flat ground. It rips.
You could use a bobber style springer seat, that would look pretty good I think. They’re pretty cheap on eBay too, then you’d also have a LITTLE bit of suspension lol
Built a lot of karts. Get a bigger eBay carb. Vacuum fuel pump off the valve cover. Stiffer valve springs. Remove the governor. Open header and 110+ and you will have a solid 13 hp out of that 6 horse.

Good for you bro. It took me forever to find the job that pays that I love. The trike is badass!

If you put some washers behind the bearing block on your tube notcher, you should get more even notches.

Pillow block bearings can be wobbled in the housing. So they self align with an axle

Would of been rad if you did a single sided front fork. That would of added to the trickness of this little machine...👍🏻🔥🏁
The torque of the 212 should be plenty to tow cars with the right gearing. I assume there's more upgrade options for it?
Your doing such a good job man.. keep up the good work..!!!!
Need to put some titanium wear strips under the frame so when you scrape it throws bright white sparks
Kyle ! Thumbs up

Badass build right there! How does the front tire stay centered on that bolt/ axle? same with the rear tires. 👌👍🤙✌
The front axle I made spacers so the hub has to stay in the middle and the rear the hubs clamp to the shaft

I don't know nothing about the 208 but the 212 is usually a mini bike go kart all that good stuff
Definitely put a little headlight and some fenders that thing looks dangerous
You'll need to build a lift kit to ride it around here but it looks cool. 👍
Mans is holding a metal pipe applying heat and precedes to say “weldings hot” I just lost it🤣🤣
Get yourself one of those metal tractor seat pans would look sweat and be comfy sort of.
Real nice project. I think, I would have made the wheel base a little longer.

get the 212 because it is very popular and fits better and has a good amount of upgrades you can do to it.
I'm really feeling it
That thing is low! Looks mean!

When I get a bit more room. I might make it smaller too

you got to pump that rear tires up to a 100, when you sit on it the tires will flex and it will drag the frame
With all billet internals, flywheel, cam and some head work (springs and rockers) you can easily get 20+hp and with proper gearing 60-70 mph
I don't want that much speed 😂😂
@@Boostedlifestyle sure you do XD Also aftermarket is much better on the 212 over the 208
