I had the opportunity to meet Francis In 2018 a week after his loss to Derek Lewis. I was at the vegas airport waiting for a connecting flught and saw him. I approached him nervously, he had his headphones in so I had to signal to him that I wanted to photo. He seemed confused at first, but then realized what I was asking For and humbly abliged. I then proceeded to tell him how I felt bad for his loss the previous week but told him how I had no doubt he would be champion one day. I looked at me blankly and then went on to apologize to me? I didn’t understand but he was saying sorry for letting me down. Never in my life would I expect a ufc fighter to be so real with me.

First I thought the fight was just gonna be a circus show for pure entertainment, but Francis is really a boxer at heart and is hungry for it. Mike's respect and admiration to Ngannou is so clear you can feel it. He wanted to listen to every word, some moments he was in awe, some moments he was humbled and even looked ready to cry, like when Ngannou said how much Mike inspired him.
I‘m blown away, I‘ve never heard Mike Tyson talk but this dude‘s mindset and how he sees things is extremely fascinating. I‘m definitely gonna watch this back, this session was some solid gold.
This interview is outstanding. Ngannou is amazing and so cerebral. The thing that is really striking is the depth of compassion and empathy that Mike Tyson has. He is a phenomenal interviewer because he allows Ngannou to open up and only interrupts with questions and observations that expand the depth of Ngannou's comments and observations. Mike Tyson is one of the most real, genuine and courageous public figures I have seen in my life. The most consequential boxer ever outside of Ali. I am so glad that social media exists and Tyson has an avenue to positively contribute while earning a living outside his athletic career. Great stuff.

This is probably the best episode of Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson I've seen so far! I didn't know the Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou fight had this level of back story! First I thought the fight was just gonna be a circus show for pure entertainment, but Francis is really a boxer at heart and is hungry for it. I‘m blown away, I‘ve never heard Mike Tyson talk but this dude‘s mindset and how he sees things is extremely fascinating. I‘m definitely gonna watch this back, this session was some solid gold.
This interview is outstanding. Ngannou is amazing and so cerebral. The thing that is really striking is the depth of compassion and empathy that Mike Tyson has. He is a phenomenal interviewer because he allows Ngannou to open up and only interrupts with questions and observations that expand the depth of Ngannou's comments and observations. Mike Tyson is one of the most real, genuine and courageous public figures I have seen in my life. The most consequential boxer ever outside of Ali. I am so glad that social media exists and Tyson has an avenue to positively contribute while earning a living outside his athletic career. Great stuff.
