One of the greatest podcasts I have ever heard. The realisation of just how beautiful the soul of a human being is is reflected here. I also watched Joe Bernthals podcast with Shia and was blown away by the humanity that was shown by both men. When you are real with each other and can see the pain and hurt that we are capable of, the angst and purity we are able to persevere through or have the chance to experience, whether it's painstaking or fulfilling it really opens your eyes to the possibility and truth of the utter depth of everyone's souls. Love and appreciation guys

A couple of few things: 1. Joe, you hit the nail on the head at the 1:04 point of today’s podcast. Mike was wavering a bit as he talked about the bio pic. He was pondering his past, asking, "Is this going to hurt me? Do I really need that?" 2. I am former 17-year TV sports anchor/reporter who has interviewed athletic greats like Gretzky, MJ, Bird, David Robinson, Karl Malone, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Troy Aikman, Tom Brady, and so many more. I am trying to say that I have been around the block and would consider myself seasoned. 3. That is why, with admiration, I can say that I witnessed one of the greatest examples of an interviewer being skillfully disarming in a manner that was thoughtful, nurturing , reassuring, and kind, as you reassured Mike that “He would be fine, and none of it would hurt him” because he's showcasing the beautiful part of his personality, "the Real Mike Tyson " who is humble, contrite, and truly nice. You can see that he looks at you like a subject matter expert, and in that moment, you weren't “Joe Rogan hosting the JRE, interviewing the baldest man on the planet.” You were “Joe,” talking to your friend “Mike,” reassuring him about something he was feeling insecure about. 4. Well done, man. I enjoyed this.
When Mikes phone started to ring and Joe just went silent I was dieing! Any other guest Joe would go on a mad one about their phone going off, but whos gonna tell Mike Tyson to put his phone away?!
I have met mike a couple of times in my life . the first was in 97 . in vegas , i was part of a crew building his estate , he is more humble than people think . the second time i met him . fans were all over him at the hard rock , still he was polite to everyone . what other sports do you do mike ?
Tyson is an absolute legend for the people of England we love our boxing and for me growing up in London and watching every fight Mike Tyson was the complete Cherry on the cake of the 1990s
What? Mike dominated the ring when he was a baby. He's still to this day is fast and explosive. Dude is a legend because of everything he did... in the ring, and in life after the ring.
Yep, none of that "what the fuck did Ozzy just say? Why does Ozzy sing and pronounce everything perfectly, yet be at home and talking to his family and I don't even remotely understand what he's saying. Doesn't even sound like English. Even his family looked confused when he spoke. Still watched the show, but I prefer the rock star legend as a performer, not reality show star like Trump. In Trumps case I will take the reality show star over President of the United States hands down. YOUR FIRED!! HAHA, that part always cracked me up. Now? Not so much.
It's hard for me to imagine getting in a big fight high on weed. I know it can't be a performance enhancer. I think pot, I think slow, sluggish, and easy to hit. Obviously now, I know that's not the case. I think Michael Phelps, the most winningest Olympic athlete of all time, in the history of all the sports, smokes weed. Dont quote me on that. But I seem to remeber something like that. Mike Tyson and Mike Phelps are not slow, and sluggish. I think I just may go smoke some pot. Why not? What's the worst thing that could happen?
When I was in Vegas for my mom's wedding. We were walking in between hotels and we walked right passed Mike! I said "hey that's mike tyson!" And he turned and smiled - "yeah immm mike tithin" shit made me so happy!

This touched me as I'm a hard man physically but I love my boy so much but can't really express it. Trust me my friend your daddy loved you but sometimes men can't really express the emotions we are feeling. Anyway God bless you and your family bro and Merry Christmas
My favourite living celebrity. Absolutely love the guy. Hail Mike Tyson, greatest fighter that ever lived.

Tyson (1980 s) : Ill eat your children
Tyson (2020) : Thank you for accepting my custom made box of weed as a gift.
Boy has the world changed!
The children (chuckles): I'm in danger
He’s also just 2 months after discovering DMT. You can see in his eyes and face that he’s world has been blown away
yes but he hasnt
It’s called growing up in the hood
It's about getting older, it's really not that profound.
Mike: ”Then as i got older i tried acid”
Joe: ”How old were you when you did acid?”
Mike: ”Probably 11”
Thats hilarious 😂
11 year old me wouldn't have handled acid at all well, I'd bug out

The level of awareness and acceptance is amazing from tyson.
I love how how Mike is just a completely free of all his past traumas you can tell he just wants to be happy and live life to the fullest I love seeing this
I never would have believed in the 80s that Iron Mike Tyson would morph into a zen master after his boxing career.
Let's thank bufo alvarious for transforming Mike Tyson into the individual he currently is. 🧡
idk man beating the shit out of people for a living kinda mellows you out i guess
he was so destructive. oth himself and others
Don't be mistaken, those demons still lays inside. He's just learn to cope with it.
It's amazing that no matter how much time passes grown men WILL ALWAYS get so giddy and excited to be around Mike Tyson.
He’s the champ

@cj77 There is something about a guy who is so open and can goof on himself so much but can turn your lights out like that.
Heywood Jablome only betas call other people beta. Fucking loser

Damn, 4 years since this podcast came out. I remember when it first came out, I was a junior in high school and right after school in my room I saw on Instagram that Joe Rogan did an interview with Mike Tyson. I was so excited and watched the entire episode and skipped the gym and did no homework or studying. Time goes by quick, never realized the quickness of time until I graduated high school. Now I’m more conscious about what I do through the day.
Mane I was an 8th grader and now I’m going off to college Covid made time go by so much faster
How u doin
I could listen to these 2 talk bout the old greats of fighting non stop..i have always loved hearing stories bout tough ole fighters
Mike: “I tried DMT”. Joe: *heavy breathing*

@@golden6335 It's a very powerful experience. It changed my life, and I hope that everyone who wants to gets to experience it once in their lifetime. I was an athiest before, but now I'm spiritual (cue the comments calling me a hippy loser lol). It showed me what my past wrongs were, and now I'm on a path to making right those wrongs. Those I stole from, those I hurt, those I need to spend more time with before it's too late, etc. It showed me that I'm not the center of reality, and that I need to strive to be of service to others as much as possible.
" I tried acid when i was older" How old? " i was 11" Mike Tyson is legendary 😂😂
He probably lost his virginity at 7

“In order to arrive to the next chapter in life, you have to forget the one that came before you and focus on the chapter ahead of you”
- Mike Tyson
C S Absolutey not how you read a book but go get em Tyson you’re the shit!
Literally screen shorted this bc I need to implement it in my life. This was a historical podcast

Keep focusing on the next chapter ahead, Yes! For sure! 100% agree. Forget about what came before? Is that really the best advice? I'm not so sure...
@@rossparker01 If your past is dark and dragging you down, then probably it is good advice. Take what positives you can from it, and leave the rest behind, or it will keep coming back to haunt you.
When you hear about Mike's past, you hear about someone who's been hurt and betrayed over and over again. Thank you Joe, it was a pleasuring seeing Mike in good spirits, he is as real as they come.
Most people who grew up in the hood got alot in common that's why they behave different sometimes but society doesn't understand,, some people sometimes improve their life's but it takes alot to heal and improve mentally too

MindSmash thank you mindsmash for making amazing content!
MindSmash, big fan.

Dude... I just like how Tyson is... So humble... So honest and so funny.❤
Mike Tyson is a modern day Achilles. Period. A living god of war.
Mike Tyson is now a humble dude - everyone praises him for being savage but now he has done the most savage thing anyone could do, slay your own ego to win the war with yourself! Nothing but respect for the man who does this!
Couldnt say it better myself man. Its all love brotha

Best comment, that's real man
Seeing Mike happy and loving life is good for the soul.
The worst thing about the word lisp is that people who have one can’t even pronounce their own affliction. Tyson is a Legend!
Totally agree!!!! 😎
Well said Sir. Great comment. What he's been through, at the age he went through it, from the background he had, would have been impossible to handle for any human. Great to see him happy and I'll repeat that - "Seeing Mike happy and loving life is good for the soul" x
He let Ben Shapiro use his laptop the whole time he was on.
That genuine laugh when he was talking about getting that cop fired lol
One of my favourite podcast ever. Mike is such a smart guy. Just shows education is a myth . Intelligence is not learned. He was my hero growing up reminds me so much if my dad
Love and appreciation guys

my grandma used to always slip me beer and some marijuana when i was a kid, i dint know what to do with the herb at the time but i would def drink lol good times miss that lady
Yeah I like how Mike said that casually as if most people can relate.
That made me sad. Joe was like damn that explains alot
Watched the podcast live waiting for Mike to go off. I thought he might of when he said that. Joe was poking the bear.
I must admit, this is the best one-on-one convo. (Rogan & Tyson) I've ever witnessed!
A couple of few things:
1. Joe, you hit the nail on the head at the 1:04 point of today’s podcast. Mike was wavering a bit as he talked about the bio pic. He was pondering his past, asking, "Is this going to hurt me? Do I really need that?"
Thank you CL Cobb!
Wow it’s unbelievable how much of a nice and humble dude Tyson has become.
Yeah but you can see if you piss him off he will fuck you up still.
He still has that ready to go to war look.
Best thing about this podcast, is the 99.9% of the comments are positive.
That's rare in JRE comment section nowadays.
It’s the weed

When Mikes phone started to ring and Joe just went silent I was dieing! Any other guest Joe would go on a mad one about their phone going off, but whos gonna tell Mike Tyson to put his phone away?!
I swear I was going to say the same thing it's so true
That's the moment you realize you're not the baddest man in the room
Came here to say this. No WAY he's calling out Tyson.
10/10 Need a meme of Joe's face when it cuts to him when Mike's phone rings. I lol'd

Tyson is an absolute legend for the people of England we love our boxing and for me growing up in London and watching every fight
Mike Tyson was the complete Cherry on the cake of the 1990s
Always respected Mike for his insights despite popular media opinion of him from back in the day. The man is simply gifted.
mike tysons post career self is what makes him an actual legend.
What? Mike dominated the ring when he was a baby. He's still to this day is fast and explosive. Dude is a legend because of everything he did... in the ring, and in life after the ring.
Word my friend.
Why not? What's the worst thing that could happen?
no
When I was in Vegas for my mom's wedding. We were walking in between hotels and we walked right passed Mike! I said "hey that's mike tyson!" And he turned and smiled - "yeah immm mike tithin" shit made me so happy!
